hey everyone just seen on a diffrent site and thought i would share ok here is how to get them, go to pogo home page and click on my accounts and hit view billing information and at the botton hit update and it should give you 20 free gems, if not take your billing infoo out and put it back in and then hit update and they should be there. i had to put mine back in then hit update and my gems were there, then i took my info back out.. go get them before they are gone.. i dont know if it is a glitch or what but just seen it and thought i would share.. i went backto the home page and they were not there so i signed out and signed back in to pogo and they were there

I got the error message initially, too, but that was because the credit card I use to buy my membership had its old expiration date (2 months ago), so it wanted the renewed expir. date. I fixed that, hit the UPDATE button and... VOILA.... I was gem happy.
Thanks so much. I just had to hit the "update" button and I got them. I also go an e-mail saying my account had been updated.

I got it on my regular acct and tried to get it on my dummy one I use for playing against. But the dummy one isn't a member and it stayed at zero gems. I did notice that I was able to buy clothing and hair styles so I made it a headbanging guy instead of the paper cutout. Finally something to do with the tokens on that acct.

At the top of the Pogo page click on where it says MY ACCOUNT and it will ask for your password. Then on the page that comes up click on the message right below the Pogo Logo you see to the right - that says "View Your Billing And Subscription Information". Then on the page that shows go to the very bottom of the info and it will have an UPDATE button. Click on that and you should have those gems. A little scary but not that hard.

Yes, I kinda, sorta do think so. Pogo wants to automatically charge our accounts at renewal time but they won't be able to do that if the expiration date on cards has passed. If you update it, they can charge when your renewal comes up.

My credit card was charged 1.00 by Pogo after doing this. Pogo didn't inform me, though, and my card was denied today when I was purchasing groceries. The store let me call the credit card and after being on hold forever and going through two reps, I was told the card was shut down because of the "suspicious" $1.00 charge. They allowed the grocery charge to go through but then dissolved the account. Now I have to wait for a new card to come in the mail. Yet another reason to be oh, so pleased with Pogo. swear2.gif

Was this actually on your statement? Like I said before, they will send through a $1.00 test charge just to verify the account, but by the time the statement comes in the mail, it will have dropped off.
And even if it didn't one dollar for 20 gems is pretty good. whistle.gif

No, I understand. I had a similar thing happen when purchasing some download games. My bank put a hold on my account because of the several $1.00 pre-auth charges that came through. Not as miserable as what YOU went through, I know, but frustrating none-the-less.
I can't believe in this economy they would deny services for a pending $1 charge. Even if it was in error there is really nothing suspicious about a dollar. This is something that is standard in Vegas gas stations - they pend payment of $20 for a few days until your credit card approves the true total. I am sure it is everywhere, I just know cuz the only 76 Station closed in Vegas and I needed gas and used a regular credit card. If it over $500 <b>then</b> it would be suspicious. Credit cards for people who actually pay their bills are the types that companies want to keep so I would call that card company and threaten to go to another who would look out for your best interests if over a dollar. I have no qualms about calling the numbers on the back of the cards and venting my anger issues on them.
They got an earful from me at the store. That store lady was so nice and I apologized to her. I remained calm and reasonable on the phone but I was adamant and emphatic with the credit card rep. Can you imagine doing this to a cardholder who pays off her bill each and every month - all for a buck? It makes no sense to me either. They told me I would have to wait for a new card for 7 - 10 days but, believe it or not, I got it today - they sent it overnight delivery. I let Pogo have an earful, too. I don't load my answers to their emails until about the 3rd chain response then I start it with "Is everyone that works at Pogo a moron or do you compete for the job". I usually get a response to the actual question I asked about then. Or.....I go to the next level of moron.....drooling imbicle. I am on day 4 waiting on a response about Monopoly Slots and how I sat for almost 2 hours without moving the piece. I find the whole idea of pending charges to be very annoying.
If one is using a credit card or debit card anywhere the payment should be automatically approved; after all, if the credit card is over limit it would be declined immediately. Same with a debit card; if the money is not in the account the charge would be declined right away.
These temporary charges are nothing more than the banks and card companies making extra money - imagine the interest they earn from the millions of temporary charges made all across the country? It's astounding.
We have a friend who used her DEBIT card as a DEBIT card at a gas pump and she didn't realize it right away but her temporary charge was a whopping $100!! She didn't know this had happened until her card was declined at the next store she went to and a cheque she had written bounced.
Our bank told us that the way to avoid these charges was to use our DEBIT card as a CREDIT card.
It still doesn't make sense to me why these charges are needed though. If the money or the credit ain't there they should decline right away. Save everybody the aggravation.

Not on the same screen name - you can do it once per ID. Many use the 30 day pass on a new ID so they can double browse and play against themselves in order to lose and go up in rated games.
