You are referring to the SnowBoarding Cross Event, and that is one of the scariest -Awesome Events I've seen. The "Flying Tomatoe" was really Awesome in the SnowBoarding Half-Pipe Event 8) :) Go USA :D

Thanks for the info, Blue...now back to my TV....... ;D
anyone else catch that exciting curling match? haven't been that entertained since the time i watched a silent movie in closed caption
what's curling? How is it a sport with any athletic merit? All it looks like they doing to me is pushing around pucks on ice with broomsticks...doesn't look that hard to me
their not even brooms there like swiffers
can someone explain to me though HOW is curling considered a sport and what the point of it is? doesn't even look like they get their heart rates up. What does sweeping the ice with a broom do? I've swept my front proch thats had ice on it before and it didn't do diddly squat...
i like curling myself very peacefull game :)
it prepares them for being a janitor, someone's gotta do it :D
I admit it is one of the more peaceful games to watch, but to me it looks like a bunch of people pushing a puck as far as they can and a bunch of people sweeping the ice in front of it till it stops
i think its actually played like marbles, they gotta get the stone in the circle, then the other team knocks the stone out of the circle AND NO-ONE EVER SCORES >:(
Okay according to wikipidea Curling is a precision sport similar to bowls or bocce, but played on ice with polished heavy stones rather than plastic balls.
Anyone see Leslie Jacobellis really throw away her Gold Medal in the Snowboarding Cross Finals last night :o She was way out in front ..looked back..and then tried a show-off move and fell... did get the Silver but gave the Gold away...lesson hard learned ::)
here the newest of the games 1. USA 7 4 1 12
2. Deutschland 6 6 3 15
3. Russland 6 2 5 13
4. Österreich 3 4 1 8
5. Frankreich 3 0 2 5
6. Estland 3 0 0 3

Curling is the funniest sport at the Olympics games..... :)) :))
I'm the odd one out of everyone I guess. Lol. I actually think curling is fun.
I've never seen curling before this year's Winter olympics and I must say, it's actually quiet an interesting sport. Didn't know I was watching it for about an hour so guess you can say I got lost in it... scary!

You could always Tivo or tape it!! LOL
I don't like to do that because the morons on tv and radio will reveal the results before I get to see it most times.
true , i am sure they like to spoil it >:(
:o
t.v. radio and pogo chat rooms ruined it several days for me >:(

I realize that "Dancing with the Stars" is on, but is anyone else watching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics?
One word: PHENOMENAL! With both the opening & closing ceremonies, the folks of Torino really outdid themselves. They've set quite the standard for future hosts to contend with.
I hate to say it, but I think those wer the most impressive parts of the games this year... At least, from what's been broadcast on TV. You'd think that with all the NBC stations (network and cable/satellite), they have a better handle on broadcasting the events...

So you're saying they could have skipped everything inbetween?? lol
I agree the Opening and Closing ceremonies were great. But I also enjoyed watching all the Olympics. I have never really gotton involved in them until this year, but had them on from morning til night. Even got interested in the curling! lol

Nope, just saying that I'm disappointed in the way NBC handled it... But then again, it seems that every time the Olympics are hosted outside of the U.S. or Canada, coverage gets concentrated & edited into easy to digest segments. I guess it's just not taken as seriously here as it is on the global scale.

I think where the problem falls is with the time zone difference and that is something they can't control. They do the best the can and try to bring us the most exciting and interesting coverage as they can. You'll see with the next winter Olympics coming from Canada the difference.
Yeah, the laws of physics kind of make it difficult to control the effect of time zones; I realize this. But when friends and family members in Europe & Asia tell me that they had complete daily coverage (with considerably fewer channels than what we have at our disposal), it really made me think.
Anyways, just voicing my opinion. And we all know what they say about those lol...

Oh, I wasn't criticizing your opinion. It's the same way when the Olympics are held closer to home though. We get all day coverage too!!
But you have to admit... the curling rocked! :P
