Sorry, Homer ,,but they will suck!   :-* :'((  My favorite game of the season is when the Gators play FSU!  Hope they will be playing here in the Swamp as it is sooooooo noisey! My husband is not allowed to watch the games on TV as then the Gators lose!

The Swamp can be brutal to the 'other' team so much noise and gets hot!  Gators have an easy team tonight think it's Southern Miss.  But that's when they can lose, too  :))

How bad do I have it? I was at Disney World this weekend and went back to the room to watch the game instead of the fireworks etc!  But sorry to see FSU win >:((  Sure not a FSU fan!

i got a sweet pay off.  :P

lol Are you going to share ? 0:

sure.

if youll pay half my bills.  :P

That's quite not fair huh?  That payoff had to be really big to do that lol

well i thought we were sharing.lol

But I have a hunch that half of the bills is more than half the payoff or you may keep my half to pay the bills haha!

either way we still should share.  ;D

Ok , what's next? I'll wait and see your next payoff and as long not against the Gators! lol  :oo

are we sharing my next payoff too? if so are we sharing the payout if i lose?

Only the winnings, need to have pocket change! :))

no no.we have to share if i lose too just to keep it fair.  :P

Dang! Is that the rule?  Wonder if the boxes are bothering anyone hahaha!

It's amazing that Boston College struggles against the teams everyone expects them to beat. When most people seem to predict a loss, they actually go out and win.  ::) They kicked Virginia Tech's  :o0 earlier this season. They beat FSU and a few other strong teams too (As well as killing the weaker ones. Maine. Duke. Buffalo.  :ll)  Then they go and lose like three games to weaker teams than them. Miami, NC State, and Wake Forest.

Alabama Fires Coach Mike Shula
By JOHN ZENOR
AP Sports Writer

November 27, 2006, 11:32 AM EST

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama coach Mike Shula was fired after a 6-6 season that ended with three straight losses, including a defeat by state rival Auburn.

Athletic director Mal Moore said Monday that defensive coordinator Joe Kines would serve as interim head coach. A news conference was set for Monday afternoon. Shula was to meet with players late Monday morning.

The firing was first reported by The Tuscaloosa News on its Web site. The newspaper said Shula told his assistant coaches late Sunday night of the dismissal.

Shula, a former Alabama quarterback, led the Crimson Tide to a 10-2 season last year and a Cotton Bowl victory. But his teams were winless in four tries against Auburn. The Tigers beat the Crimson Tide 22-15 on Nov. 18.

Shula's firing means Alabama is looking for a head coach for the fourth time since 2000. The Tide has had seven coaches in the 24 years since Paul "Bear" Bryant's last season in 1982. Bryant had directed the Alabama program for 25 years.

Shula took over the proud but troubled program less than four months before the 2003 season after Mike Price was fired following spring practice for his off-the-field behavior -- specifically a night of drinking at a strip club in Pensacola, Fla. Price got the job after Dennis Franchione bolted for Texas A&M.

"Mike and his staff took over our program during a trying period four years ago, and in a number of ways Mike has been an excellent representative of our program," Moore said in a statement. "He personally has displayed impeccable character."

Moore praised Shula for providing "stability for our program through four years of NCAA probation" that end Feb. 1, 2007.

Yes, the Gators did beat Arkansas.
Depending on how you want to look the game. (Not taking anything away from the Gators), Arkansas GAVE the game away (talking about the two stupid turnovers)..... Believe it or not, the Gators were the underdogs in this game!     Oh well, No one, (including myself) thought that Ark would win over 4 games this year. I mean, it is a young, young, young team!....  The way that Ark played this year did make a lot of people take note of them tho. If only we had someone that could catch a dang ball and hold onto it. lol..... Arkansas does have a great running game, we just need our passing game now......I just hope that Ark can keep it's coach (we have a habit of getting a good coach and loosing them to someone that can pay a lot more than Arkansas can) and hang onto most of our players and they stay healthy for a couple of more years, then maybe next year we will have a great team!... Not saying that we are NOT a great team now. Just that we are a very young team that was not suppose to win anything this year. Arkansas showed them hu? lmao
     GO ARKANSAS GO!

The game was for FL to lose and they usually blow it in the 3rd qtr. For some reason the second half they play lousy. Leak had a couple interceptions which was poor playing.  But I loved it when the coach kept using up his timeouts and then still sent in the kicking team! Only to result in a Gator touchdown.(maybe that was the 'style' points for the bcs, lol)I don't think style points should be used in the BCS , just IMO, sounds like  beauty pagent.  There were several times when I thought FL was going to lose the game but came back to win.

The sportscasters mentioned yesterday that ARK qtr back was having a better than usual day and the FL kicker was able to make the FGs.  Maybe they need to play indoors more often lol

I think FL has 21 seniors, that seems like a lot. But they will have a young qtr back in Tebow.  It was a good game to watch and fret over, and to hear myself say "Gators are gonna blow it".

I do not think the Gators will get the invite to the championship BCS game.

BTW heard that SC upped Spurriers salary by 500,000 and extended his contract. Gee, what rumors will do to give job security

That is one reason I heard the 'experts' say Florida got in because they did not want to see the rematch plus Fl had a tougher schedule. It will not bother me if FL doesn't win, just the fact they made it to the championship game dispite the odds.  The big ten is a big conf, (I'm from Iowa and went to U of Ia) but glad other conferences given a chance , plus Fl came out ahead of Mich. in the bcs %.

I doubt that one buckeye will do a Gator in,  :))  Found this at Wikipedia-
"The nuts contain high concentrations of a saponin-class toxin called Aesculin, which is toxic to many animals including humans because it causes hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells). The saponin can be eliminated by leaching the pulverized nuts in multiple changes of boiling water, to yield a wholesome starchy porridge once important to some Native American tribes. Some animals, notably deer and squirrels, are resistant to the toxins and can eat the nuts directly."  If deer and squirrels are resistant then a huge Gator is included . :)))

2) Florida 41, (1) Ohio St. 14

By BEN WALKER, AP National Writer
January 9, 2007
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Not even close.

Florida -- yes, Florida -- owned the field it wasn't supposed to be on, embarrassing Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith and No. 1 Ohio State 41-14 on Monday night to run away with the college football national championship.

Chris Leak and Tim Tebow showed off coach Urban Meyer's twin quarterback system to perfection as the No. 2 Gators became the first Division I school to hold football and basketball titles at the same time.

Now, only one question remains: What about Boise State, the last undefeated team left standing?

The Broncos stunned Oklahoma on the very same field in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day, while Florida and the Buckeyes finished with identical 13-1 records.

Former Gators star Emmitt Smith did the chomp on the sidelines, punctuating the amazingly easy victory. That left Florida, Wisconsin and Louisville each with one loss, and surely will renew calls for a playoff system.

Ted Ginn Jr. returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown, then it quickly fell apart for the Buckeyes. He hobbled off minutes later with an injury and by the time he returned for the second half on crutches, Florida led 34-14.

Leak, maligned for never winning the big one, completed 25 of 36 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown. The Rambo-like Tebow threw for one TD and powered into the end zone for another.

Smith, meanwhile, joined a long list of Heisman Trophy quarterbacks -- Jason White, Eric Crouch and Gino Torretta, among them -- to fall apart in bowl games. He was just 4-for-14 with one interception and never showed off his elusive running.

Instead, defensive ends Derrick Harvey and Jarvis Moss made it a miserable night for Smith. Linebacker Earl Everett got into the act, too, running down Smith despite missing his helmet.

Florida won its second national title, adding to the one Heisman winner Danny Wuerffel brought home in 1996 under coach Steve Spurrier with a 52-20 romp over Florida State in the Sugar Bowl.

This time, the man in charge was the 42-year-old Meyer, once a .200 hitter in the low minors in Atlanta's farm system. Since then, he's made a rocket rise in the coaching ranks, topped off by a title in his second year at Florida.

The Bowl Championship Series added an extra game this year to determine a champion. Some fans were certain Michigan deserved to be here, that is until it got pounded by Southern California in the Rose Bowl.

This game had no name -- perhaps now it might be the Meyer Bowl, at least for a year.

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel's team looked as if they belonged at the Holiday Bowl, because it took this night off. Given 51 days to prepare, and favored by a solid touchdown, the Buckeyes were confused from the get-go once Florida got the ball.

In the first football matchup between these schools -- they've both played the sport for 100-plus years -- the Gators emphatically stopped Ohio State's 19-game winning streak.

The Buckeyes beat a pair of No. 2 teams earlier in the season, defending champion Texas and Michigan. They were no match for Florida's speed, strategy and style.

The Buckeyes looked completely flummoxed by Florida's frenetic offense at the outset. Trying to match up with the Gators' shifting formations, they often jumped around at the line and still were out of position.

Leak gladly took advantage of the confusion, picking wide-open receivers at will and hitting his first nine passes. Criticized most of his career for a lack of fire, the guy with the soft, green eyes seemed real comfortable.

Meyer's gadgets made it easy pickins for the Gators. They came out in a five-wide set after Ginn's return and Leak hit Dallas Baker with a tying, 14-yard touchdown pass.

The next time they touched the ball, the Gators let Leak, Tebow and scatback Percy Harvin all take direct snaps from center. Harvin later tucked it under his right arm -- the one with a lion tattoo -- and powered for a 4-yard TD.

A flanker reverse by Andre Caldwell helped Florida move to a third-and-goal at the 2 as the first quarter ended. When the second period began, Meyer immediately reached into his bag of tricks.

Florida put three running backs directly behind Leak -- a power-I-plus -- and gave the ball to the last one. DeShawn Wynn scored on the first play of the quarter, plunging into the end zone right in front of the Gators' band, for a stunning 21-7 lead.

Ohio State returned to its roots and ran the ball. Antonio Pittman's 18-yard burst made it 21-14 with 13:32 left before halftime.

Undaunted, the Gators came back with something totally out of character, even for them -- field goals.

Chris Hetland was only 4-for-13 on kicks this season, and his longest was 33 yards. But Meyer said he would trust him in this game, and Hetland made good, from 42 and 40 yards on the next two possessions.

Hetland's second kick came after Tressel showed a little early desperation, gambling on fourth-and-1 at his own 29 and saw Chris Wells stuffed.

The Buckeyes got the ball on their 20 with less than two minutes left before halftime and were determined to see a score before the break. They did -- by Florida.

Moss sacked Smith and forced him to fumble, and the Gators took over at 5. Tebow ran twice up the middle, then faked a quarterback draw, rolled to the left and tossed a 1-yard TD pass to Caldwell.

At 34-14, fans on both sides were stunned as the teams ran to the locker rooms.
