The other day I noticed my mini had a mad face on. It took me by surprise since I dont ever save that feature on her. I changed my pw just in case. Then yesterday I opened up an email from pogo about a contest i supposedly entered. I had never entered any contest with my tokens. (i am token selfish) Again I changed my pw. I dont know how anyone could have gotten my pw. I have never given it out. I also have firewalls and good antivirus. Can anyone else explain why this is happening to me?
I am sorry this has happened to you. I don't know how someone could be getting your password. Do you also use something to remove spyware?
I sure do everyday.. and usually before i go to bed.
I am sorry but I don't know. I am sure someone may have an answer for you soon. Your avatar is very cute btw.
Well thank you anyway and thank you for the compliment on the avatar... I call him Kermit the Cat! LOL ;D
Wow, that is scary.... ::)
Yea it is... luckily i am observant :-\
It seems that it may be a glitch in Pogo. It's already happened to me twice that when I sign out for the evening and come back the next morning and sign in with my screen name and password, someone else's account comes up. I don't know if Pogo is doing this to see if we'll mess with the other person's account or what. I immediately log out of that account and log back into mine and it's ok. Luckily I haven't had it happen to me in reverse (that I know of anyhow). Each time that it has happened, I change my password.
Other than what has happened to me, I don't know what to tell you.
kermit the cat that is too funny i also got an email from pogo saying u have reached 5 millions tokens a new lifetime i reached 5millions tokens a long time ago im almost 20 now i figure that was strange

i do say i do like the cat in his wear but how long before he/she had it off
Not sure its not my cat...my cat would have kicked my butt if i had tried that!! :o
You'd be suprised how much information (screenname/password, personal info, etc.) can be obtain without really putting that much effort into if you're a hacker. Really, that only occurs if you have enemies, and you don't seem like the kind of person who would.

Very interesting, no? 8)

LOL I'm the same, I always try to be nice....BUT I can be very sarcastic but alot of times they don't even pick it ;D >:D
my fiancee said that someone could have put a key logger on your computer..in other words to check what you type ..pw sn, web sites and so on.... not that it helps you any but that is what it sounds like
I had a so called 'friend' that put one of those on my computer, I found it and I was pissed to say the least. It catches everything that you type!........ I wish I could remember what that file was called, but I think there are a lot of those out that. I do not think that spy ware will catch them either. I do not know that to be fact tho?........
ewido from ewido.net or .com gets rid of keyloggers, malware and spyware
This sounds like a bad glitch on pogo's end...hmm
Well, don't worry, if some one gets onto your account with out having your password, then there is nothing bad they can do to you. You need password for mall and drawings.
Also, they can't change your password, because they need the current password to do so, if they report a lost password, they shouldn't have the password for your email address, and to change emails, you need a password...sooo....like chill
maybe they'll go get you the rank 25 badge in wonderland or something :D

Thank you!.... I am headed there now
One question I haven't seen asked: Have you ever let anyone you chat with on Pogo get a difficult badge for you, as so many people offered to do, say, in the Chess challenge recently? If so, that might account for the first change you saw.. not that they weren't honest, they may have accidentally changed your mini face if they were looking through your " closet" for fun. :)
** PROGRAMS WHICH MIGHT HELP YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE***
Also, in addition to running AV, do you run a separate daily Adware program? AV software will not pick up on all Adware which is sometimes classified as malware.
A good free adware search and removal program is called Adaware and can be downloaded at www.lavasoft.com
Another fairly good free one is Microsoft's Anti-Spyware, found at www.microsoft.com but it's still in Beta and some people don't like Beta programs. It also detects some different types of programs than Adaware does, so they work well together.
A free and adequate AV program called AVG is downloadable at www.grisoft.com. It checks all email, incoming and outgoing and is fast too.
A free program called " Shields Up" which probes your ports to see if you have adequate firewall safety is free at Gibson Research, www.grc.com.
A free firewall is available for download at www.zonealarm.com.
I liked the free version much better than the " paid" super pro version, LOL. None of these programs have conflicts with each other, and all are small downloads.

If none of this applies to you, is it possible that someone in your house is able to log on to Pogo with your stored password? I didn't know this until recently, but on one of our computers, I can go to the sign on screen, do a fast double click on the screen name field and my screen name shows up in a drop down. Click once more and it's in place. Same with the former password. Even if you change it often, once you type it in once, if someone in your household likes to play pranks ( or play Pogo, LOL) might be able to sign in. You might want to try this and see if Windows stored your sign in info.
I have my browser set to delete all cookies when I close Internet Explorer. which prevents this.
If it's any consolation...
Many days, there are over 300,000 players on Pogo at the same time.
I've had my ranks in games go up and down wildly ( without autos running).
I also had a lot of problems with the correct token amount showing when I lived far away and probably was routed to a different token server on Pogo.
I've also been kicked out of rooms automatically. I guess someone wanted into the room and was using a backdoor program, not sure. :)
So, Pogo is not without its quirks but it is SO much better than it used to be.
Someone was asking a comparison question regarding eBay and Pogo today on here and I was reminded of how far both systems have come with their mainframe stability and added capacity. It used to be hard to finish a simple slots game without Pogo crashing, and it used to be hard to bid on something on eBay without a hangup in their system too.
Enormous growth on both sites in the past 3-4 years. :)
Hope you find the gremlin that's messing with your mini. ;)
BTW, none of the programs I mentioned should interfere with Pogo or the autos at all as long as you don't do a system scan while an auto is running. :)
