some more info for all you guys out there regarding things happening on pogo this year!
there will be several updates to games (not confirmed which ones yet) new graphics,and to include your minis (like jungle gin etc)
blocked friends list-blocking people from seeing your location on pogo (no date for this feature yet)
custom badge albums-you get to choose what badge you want to do and can have 10 per album,you can choose from the games available and how difficult the challenges will be!
pogo pets for your minis-the pets will be happy or moody,you will able to earn treats for them just by playing any pogo game(sounds fun lol)
gifts for pogo friends-you will be able to purchase little pressies for all your friends on pogo
animated backgrounds for minis-animation for your minis
wardrobe packages for your minis (probably pay for these)
tournaments-there will be a major shake up of tourneys-due to complaints of rude tournament hosts and players,my league (who runs the tourneys currently).These will no longer be played on pogo
instead these will be replaced by pogo official competitions,where players attempt to get the highest score.
Prizes will be awarded to the highest scorers,but everyone who competes will receive a special reward
team competitions-you create a team and your team competes against another in a league

I for one am super excited about mini pets...and hopefully, with the mini changes, I can get me a pair of long legs! ;)
Out of all of those features, I like the tourney one the best. I hate all of that typing in caps. Their chatter isn't in the least interesting to me. I would have been happy if they just had to play in tourney rooms. I found it irritating to enter a room and find it full of tourney people and you never know where they will be.
I won't pay for mini clothes but will pay for premium badge books.

its going to be interesting... i was in a leauge last night when this was a rumor and someone said it and the host BLEW up.. they said if pogo tried to do something like that Case would sue them (i dont know if POGO and CASE has a contract between the two to run touraments) I glad my membership in case is over... i would hate to renew the membership just to find out my Ladder gets kicked off pogo come summer....
for those who dont think people would pay for touaments
people pay case 19.95 per year for gold membership , 9.95 per month for platium and 19.95 per month for diamond (all you get it more ladder bux the more your pay them per month) I was diamond for 2 years with case until they stop putting items in their store.... I personally though case was worth the 220 bucks per year to play in the touraments up to NOV 2005 (long story wont bore people with it here)

The custom challenges sound cool! I think an album we can fill with old badges (the ones we pick for personal challenges) would be a neat idea, too. Say we pay a certain amount for it and we can put any 10 (or whatever) old badges in it and get the 14 days to work on each one like the Premium challenges - but a twist could be that once we choose them we can't change them. We could finish our yearly albums faster that way.

pogo dont own those leagues... i asked around in my leauges that im in and most of them said they would just move over to YAHOO... the leauges will stay BUT you just wont be able to play them on pogo anymore....
Yeah, I would definitely check with whomever is hosting your tournies, Mama. Like Caroline said, and this site reaffirmed, all of these changes are going to be implemented by the end of the year. You might be safe for now, but if Pogo is actually going to disallow outside tournies, then they must have informed the hosting sites.

I can see pogo starting it's own tournys, try to capitalize on the $$$$$.
However I don't see how they can ban a league from playing there. There is a league in almost every room in pogo now, go to PTRR and see.

What's PTRR? And yes, they can ban leagues from playing in Pogo. There's nothing in their TOS that says they have to let you play and nothing that says then need to give you any warning before they tell you that you can't play your tourneys there. It's frankly just a matter of banning your account if you continue to try and run tourneys.
I won't be paying for any of that stuff except maybe the badge albums. I don't mind the tourneys, but would like to see them all held in tourney only rooms. Then I wouldn't have to worry about getting into a tourney room. It irritates me immensely when they type in all CAPS.
They hog the chat area completely and it is impossible to visit with your friends when they are in the room. So far I have muted about a million tourney members I think.
Pogo is at fault here, they should provide rooms just for tourneys in all games.
As for paying money for a pet or a gift for a friend, they have to be kidding. But I am sure there will be those that will do it.

yeap pogo is probally trying to keep it under their hats... maybe they are working with CASE telling them about they are kicking all of the tours off pogo and giving time for them to make plans on the move... i think the same thing was done a few years back when CASE was talking over another site , they wouldnt comment on it till like few weeks before it came out.... it was in the works but case just kept saying it was just rumors
