hey i stink at pinochle and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me get to it...the help would be greatly appreciated and will be willing to win you back the ratings if your concerned with them...ty very much O0

How far are you away from getting the master badge?

i would like help for the advanced badge:) and any other one if u got master badge already please cause i suck at it im 1510...lol i got lcky 2 games i won by like 5 pts

There are not that many people who own the Master badge in this game.  I have already committed my master rating to one of the forum members.  It is going to take more than 2 people at a time to do this in a reasonable amount of time.  You should get together enough people to play together and draw the Master rating and then share them with the others who wish to cooperate.  Everyone has to commit to giving the rating points away to those who helped.

It will take two people with big ratings, playing against people with medium ratings to do this quickly.  It takes some planning, yet is well worth it.

I would be willing to create an account and give myself a guest pass and lose all of it for the pinochle master badge as long as someone would be willing to do the same for me.  

Two browsers will get the job done in a great deal of time and a lot of disposable temporary names.  You should look for two people who are Masters who are willing to give up the big points.  You will go through 10 to 15 created names at the level you are at this time.

I appreciate that.  I am just saying that if you bring two masters in who are willing to lose to you then you will fly through this.  You will hit a point in the game where you will only get one point after every other match won.  The lower the rating, the lower the payout.  Knock off two Masters and bulk yourself up and then give your ratings to others.  Everyone benefits and badges will be had.

Are you saying that you will get 17 points for winning a 500 point hand, despite the person's rating that you are playing against?

I have earned the Master badge twice and the Intermediate badge for two others.  I have played against Max, a Master, Adacia, a Master and I am actually going to throw this question to Smiles, the most serious and the best Pinochle player I have ever come across, also a Master.  I have never won 17 points in a hand before.  I must have done something wrong here because I do not believe that it is possible for players who are rated 1500 to be deducted 17 points for a loss.

I just recently started playing pinochle. I kinda taught myself and if I had to play in real life against real people I probably wouldn't know what I was doing LOL. But here is my question: If U get your rank up there to get a badge and u lose your rank do they take the badge away?Or do they let u keep it as a souvenier? LOL

If you lose, you lose the rank points and retain the badge.  If you are a Master you can throw all of your rank points away and still retain all of the badges.

Thank-you very much.  I am six badges away from owning every weekly challenge badge, every in-game badge and every super badge that Pogo has ever offered.  If I were to brew a pot of coffee right now I could easily knock two of those six out tonight.  I think I will stay away from the caffiene right now though or my head will explode.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  thats great barb.  ive only got 3 games completely finished.  im trying to work on mine to where i get a badge in every game all in one week.  that would give me 14 in game badges and 3 weekly challenges (unless the do a badge marathon - lol).  im thinking about reseting my stats in 2 games to push my badge total for one week up to 19  :-\ :-\, just to beat the record  8).   :-\ , what to do, what to do. 

My record is 16 in one day.

wow.  excellent job barb.  i dont think i can do that one unless i can get all my games one game away from the badge.  we will have to see.  by the way,  what is the record for badges won in one week?  i think the last i saw was 17 or 18, not sure.

as far as this topic,  i got my masters badge about a month ago and am currently helping a couple of others get theirs.  it may take me a couple of months to finish but if you still need help then let me know.

I played a few 500 pt games and got my rating up to 1623 so far. Am I better off playing 500 pt hands slowly or playing 150 point hands for quicker games? Does the amt of rating points go up slower then? I'm a bit confused...

do you get more points for a 500 point game or can you play 100 point games and get the same points?

my "opponents" ranking points are getting kinda low but.. I just played a 500 pt hand and drew 12 points, and then I played a 100 pt hand and drew only 3 points. Stick to the 500 O0

  I played 100 and 500 pt. rounds. I really don't see how it matters. 5 100 pt. rounds seemed to be about equal with playing. The fastest way to nab rating points there is to beat someone with a higher score ranking. Having a good partner(s) also helps.

 If I played someone that had a 1600 ranking I was averaging about 1 to 2 pts. after a win. If this person had 1800 or more I was averaging 5 to 6 points per win.

   I would, but after playing and getting that master badge, I'm burned out. I'm only rank 32 and just cannot bring myself to play.

  Use a double browser if you think it will help you. There is plenty of info here you can look up. If you have a partner that can also use a db, you are set. I would recommend that as you and one other player are helping each other out. You can play against bots and always come out on top. You aren't putting unknowing players at an unfair disadvantage either.

  One person get atleast to 'Expert' rating. That player can start losing to you and you both get expert. Keep that method up, and you will be master in no time. Like I said before, if you play someone that hasn't even gotten their 'I' badge yet, you will get less rating points.

  In the end, I was creating players, via guest passes, and ranking them up. Then I would rank them down and steal their points. It may seem like a waste of time, but it truly isn't. It takes alot longer to rank playing someone with less rating points. Plus if you are on a guest pass and a partner doing the same, you are not in fear of getting reported. You have a full room and no one else can be a party pooper. Best of luck....I know you can do it.

i only have one club pogo name and i need to get my rating up from 1492 to 2001 anyone have some advice or some way to help?

wish i did have some advice....all i have is my intermediate badge...still trying to get others..not doin very well either lol

YAY!!! Got my Expert badge tonight.. took me all day to get 100 lousy points. I'm gonna keep bangin em out though, and hopefully get the master soon! I've been drawing off my other club account, now have it built back up to a 1580 rating, but my poor sad guest players are almot down to 1400... and it's my second set of guest friends... Hopefully I'll make it, I have 3 more guest passes left. I sure wish they gave those passes out more often. :'(

i was wondering what i am doing wrong in pinochle i played 11 straight games and lost all 11, i was up to 1699 now down to 13 something, can someone help, i have my advanced badge and i cannot seem to even get back up to the 1500's.  pogo seems so one sided with meld, i have good partners and i am a good player, but i keep losing any hints anyone.  thank you in advance for the help

Double browsing doesnt work does it?  I thought you had to have 4 players to play a rated game.

Yes, Pinochle is a four player game, best played with two people double browsing or with two people who have 2 computers each and one auto each to run.

I am willing to help anyone get the master badge if they in return help me too....my current rank is 1500 something or other, just wanted to let you know that i am here if anyone wants to get together and do this...and if someone can explain again how to do the double browsing thing I would be happy to do that with someone who can do it too....i was looking for the topic on double browsing but i cant seem to find it anywhere....I am home all day so I have the time to help.....

   It's a tough badge to get, but well worth it. I have not changed my Master badge since I got it four months ago. I still get people in chat rooms constantly asking me what badge it is. Between Master badge, golden carrot and rising star I have a happy badge album. :)

I believe you must have 4 players.

Yep, my Duff drinking friend is correct, as usual.  You have to check the box to make it a rated game and it has to have four players.

That's the problem. You have to be sure they can be trusted as well because some players will purposely sabotage your rating by overbidding causing you to lose.
