Title: THUNDER POPPER II PROBLEM
Post by: Chikago on May 17, 2005, 08:45:10 PM
So like, I just bought this program after loving the demo. But now it doesnt play like it used to. It worked for one evening but now I get this popup message.  "ThunderpopperII.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienence."
I can get like 1 good game out of it then, it crashes like so. My question is simply, if i can trade programs? or something of the sort? Like not get a refund, but get a auto for a different program instead of poppit? and turn in my poppit code so it becomes obsolete?

Well, i was curious because as I'm looking in here in the tech forum, everyone who has the poppit auto is having problems.

Not everyone is having problems, I for one, have yet to have one single problem with the auto.

It's worked great for me as well.  In fact most members have to babysit it because it works TOO well, and will get you reported if you don't supervise it....

So what should I do then? What information do I need to provide?
On top of that, I only get the bonus once if a session lasts more than 2 games. Other times, i just get tokens for the drops. Don't say turn down the click speed because I have it on the lowest setting possible.

You need to give more info. See below. TP2 does not work with Windows 98 or ME.

Please make sure to give as much information as you can when you have technical problems.

Here are some things that will help:

1) Operating system (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)
3) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)
4) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked
6) What Java you are using
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program

You get the idea the more information the better.

Browser » Microsoft Internet Explorer

Color Depth » 32 bit

Smooth Fonts* » Enabled

Turn off smooth fonts.

How to change the Font Smoothing Settings in Windows XP
Minimize all applications so that you can see the desktop.
Right-click anywhere on the desktop background (not on an icon).
In the resulting pop-up menu, choose Properties. This will open the Display Properties dialog box.
In the Display Properties dialog box, select the Appearance tab.
In the Appearance tab, click the Effects button (lower right).
In the Effects dialog box, check the "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" uncheck it to disable font smoothing.
When you have finished setting these properties, click the OK buttons in both the Effects and Display Properties dialog boxes.

After you have done this open the poopit game first then the auto. Use regular IE (not the aol or msn versions)

The only other thing I know that may affect the auto is if you have toolbars like the google and yahoo search toolbars installed.

Other than that I'm out of ideas.

Please don't post in all caps.  I don't know much about other people's computers but I would seriously try Barb's idea.  Try moving the speed towards the middle and move the lower bar to "Leave no more than 5 balloons" or "All possible moves".   All I see is "No Possible Moves" meaning it can't solve that puzzle.  Did you try deleting that copy and redownloading another one?  Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

I cant get TP2 to go past the fiirst game on auto. it gets to the end of the first game where youget all the info on how many points you have won, and then it wont proceed to the next game. Also its not giving me all of the points. LEts say I win 750 points I only get 150-225 of those points credited, any suggestions. Im running windows XP, regular size screen.

See what happens when you switch java to MS JVM

Don't forget to reboot your pc after making changes.

You must use 24 or 32 bit color.

Try switching javas to MS JVM another member was running Sun Java and when they switched to MS JVM it worked fine.

Don't forget to reboot your pc after switching javas.

Are people still getting ripped on there tokens? I only get part of the tokens I win.

The only thing you can do is slow the auto down. Move the slider all the way to the right and see what happens. Pogo has rigged the game to prevent auto users from getting all the tokens.
