Jsut noticed Poppazoppa on main page - played it for about 4 hours - it's still on the main page - but no rooms available - what did pogo do now?

i tried getting into it a little while ago - it says : Sorry, no rooms are available right now. Click a different tab or try back later.
Did they lose a server - or just having the usual probs associated with pogo
I submitted a service request, and the response I got back seemed to indicate they had no idea.

Last time this happened I lost my ranks and had to reearn them all...grrrrrr....lol

i dont think the percentage had anything to do with it....that part i believe as i was following it, is that if the egg's needed fell on a half egg(as we know that all pogo games such as WWW, have 2 decimal spots also)...when you fell on a half egg it showed percentage and whole eggs showed how many eggs left....just my input from what i've been disecting from this game.
what i want to know and i dont think i read anywhere...is there any glitches or advanced strategy..i know the chain thing, but i have seen players consistently getting 10,000 points games. Whats the catch here im missing?
ok i got a ? ...when the game first came out ..and u look at the game now it says no rooms avaible did it have the team play tab and competive tab at top?..if not there adding it i guess cuz thats what i see at top now..almost like the tabs in lottso when u play it ..
You should be able to always get 10,000 points just by making long chains. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. No cheats that I know of.

Yeah, they always had those.
yes those tabs were always there.
i consistently get over 10,000 points. i usually make chains of 28-32 every round and therefore getting over 10,000 points a game. usually between 12,000 and 16,000 points a game. it does take practice. i am not using an auto on this one (as of yet), and i have not found or heard of any glitches.
i do hope they get the game back up and running very soon.

I'm wondering if they aren't fine tuning the game. The timing in between rounds is a little too much. Hopefully that is what they are working on. It's almost like having an intermission between games and that's not kewl lol.
I just love the new "system status" they threw in the Community News. (this is sarcasm by the way..lol)

I asked Pogo what was up with the new game, why release something that is not working and yet thier status says all games and servers are working. Here is the generated response:

Yesterday, we released a much-revered classic game called Poppa Zoppa, and the release did not go as smoothly as we had hoped. Unfortunately, to protect the stability of the entire Pogo.com site last night, the engineering team had to close the game with no warning, and some players may have lost badge or rank progress as a result.
We do apologize for this inconvenience; however, we are not able to provide rank or stats adjustments that resulted from this.
Also, we don't know when the game will be returned to service.

well that just is not right at all. maybe they decided to pull it because of the quick release of the auto. they were not expecting that so maybe they are going to revamp it and then rerelease it in a way that will take longer for the auto to be redone. who knows, we are talking about pogo here. plus i feel left out that i did not get one badge yet in that game. did anyone lose the badges they did get in that game?
i havent lost any badges,i got to rank 12 (without auto) and badge is still there.i doubt pogo will change the game that much if at all,obviously a gaming issue
It could be, but don't really think that's the case. In the time we could play, it did seem somewhat unfinished. The tallying of the scores was taking entirely too long. In the last few hours before they shut it down, there were also some strange things happening with the chat area. The player names were all out of order. Some of us were showing a token count of 0. I think they are just working the kinks out. I too would rather wait a little longer and have a smoothly run game.
i agree,i doubt we will see poppa working until wednesday after weekly maintenance.me for one hopes its sooner than that :)
lol ive just looked at the site status in community news and the traffic lights isnt green anymore it is now orange,and says poppa zoppa is experiencing some difficulties.We're currently working on the problem
well at least know the lights move now lol ::)

check out the current "Pogo Status"... they've finally took the green light down! It's about freaking time they've actually admitted when they were having problems!

game was running good for me on friday, lost it thursday but still got ranks and 36 badge and yes this game is very easy will not nead a cheat for this one, ::) get over 10,000 almost every round, even have a high score over 21,000 8) , hopefully pogo fixes the game issues so its not so hard to get in a room ...well good stomping all O0
If you wanna get the 36 chain badge heres a tip leave 2 are 3 buildings but dont finish the round and the next round will give you some chains :)
poppa zoppa is screwing up again
im not having any problems with the game yet (knock on wood - lol). the longest chain i have gotten is 35, but im getting there. im getting alot of 30-34 chains so its just a matter of time and i WILL have that 36 chain badge. happy stomping all.

I don't understand. I always clear the board and there are always a bunch of chains (5 or 6) on the next stage. How many additional chains do you get for not clearing a board?
ETA: I tested it, left 2 buildings and still only got 5 chains. It didn't change anything for me.
ANy tips on how to get the 36 chain badge yet???
I got mine yesterday. The best tips I can give are to play in a fuller team room. The reactor tends to fill up faster. Keep the houses surrounding the reactor where they are if you can, so they all blow up together helping your chain.
Try and get the sides and corners first and leave as few singled out pieces as possible. Hold on to your chain pieces as long as possible. Use them wisely though always looking a step ahead. If you have a single green piece off by itself with a chain on top, hop to it before you take off more of the board. You get a free jump and have eliminated a piece that you may not later be able to go to.
It requires a little luck, though it can be done. I've done a 36 chain twice so far. Unfortunately, you do not get a x2 by your badge. Just be patient and do not let the timer intimidate you. I usually finish a round with atleast 20 seconds to spare.

Thank you for the best advice of playing in the team rooms. I wasn't sure of the difference, but it finally got me my badge.
I did my best to keep my own chain going, but when I did get stuck, I waited for the rest of the players in the room to find what I needed to activate the reactor. It was only a matter of a few seconds until they did. I hopped over to the reactor (which always changes colors to whatever your "Next" building is), and kept going. I got it in the first round of the game, so it was a little nervewracking waiting for the end of the game to see if Pogo screwed me again....lol.
I am the worst at puzzle games. If I can get it....anyone can!!! Best of luck to all.

Community News - Site Light is GREEN, but Zoppa is not loading for me. I am not sure Pogo Programmers work on the weekend. (LOL) Figures, baby is asleep and I can play but can't load the game I want. Hope it comes around soon, before my mutant awakens again. :o

I'll try again but I have cleared out and rebooted to no avail. The room loads but then the tokens and game do not load. Probably just me. :)
Don't click on the "Play Now" button.
Search for a room with no more than 5 people in it and it loads just fine ...
My room had 9 people. ;)
I was also having problems with pz loading a few minutes ago. I cleared my cache and now it loads fine. Go figure

Dammit all. I cant get past 33. No matter what I try I get 25-30 and an occasional 31. I see people gettign 34 and 35....which makes me think that ill never get this :/

I don't think it's possible to make an auto that will give you the 36 chain badge.
There is luck involved .. it's not all strategy.
Either one of the PoppaZoppa™ auto's should be able to get that badge ...
Trouncer is smarter, but dang, is it fast. My score was shooting to the top with it... Might need to be given an even slower bottom setting.
I tried Trouncer and it got me as close as 32 :'(
I think it's better for points and the possibility for the 36 badge, where Stomp is more just for clearing the board to get your ranks faster and the most badges sooner...

I tried both autos and I didn't find Trouncer to be "smarter." I am sticking with Stompzilla.
I actually need to try both on the same computer to figure it out for sure. Except for the 36, I'm just looking for eggs. I'm going to use my trials wisely in this case.
I am really loving this game. I relax with a glass of Captain Morgan and pretend that I am invisible to the other players and just play away. I am not Joshing you when I say, just relax and use your time wisely. Pretend that no one else knows that you are there and assume that you are playing unnoticed. Close chat and ignore the "dumb" comments from the other people who are competing with you. Don't let their chatter distract you. They will flash and strobe, go ahead and let them. Just focus on your own game and you will be fine. A smart girl notices everything and gets the badges.

In regards to rooms not loading...
Try using the "Game Rooms" and not the "Members Only Rooms" For some reason, people can't get the members only room to load but every room that allow AOL'ers seem to work. Could be Pogo's hidden attempt to make us interact with those darn free players. Whatever the case, there's your sign!

Ok if pogo was a real person i would be going over to there house and choking the shit out of pogo right about now. I have lost ranks on poppa zoppa for the third time now. First i was rank 14 and it put me down to 4. Then I was rank 17 and it put me down to 14. Now I went on a few minutes ago and I dropped from rank 22 to 19. EA BLOWS

Not every board is a viable winner. You are doing a great job, just keep the faith. You are making rank progress as you go along, bonus.
There is a certain amount of luck involved. Not every game is a winner. If you have gotten a 35 then you will eventally get the 36.
It really is just a matter of the luck of the board. I haven't gotten mine yet either, but console myself with what Barb said - I'm getting ranks at least while I'm obsessed with getting this badge. LOL

Because some of us pogo'ers like a challenge. I was only upset when I got the first one, but due to Pogo game problems, I didn't get credit for it. I've been close on many occasions but this morning I did the unthinkable... I've got all 36! I've cried my eyes out as it was in the first round and last thing I wanted was for Pogo to go down and me not get credit. Once the game was over and that ugly 36 popped up on my screen, I yelled and woke up the neighbors. Now I no longer have a reason to play that game while thinking. From here on in, it's "clear the board quickly" and nothing else. Unless they add a badge for being "Top Round Finisher 1000 Times" or something along those lines, this game is no longer a challenge!

Not everyone Monkey, I still havent gotten it either, I've been as close as 35 and the other one was clear across the board with no link - uggggh. I will keep trying and really its just like any other badge. Like Tri-Peaks to get that cool looking last badge - it takes forever but thats what makes pogo fun. yep. us badge hogs dont care what they look like just give them to us even if they are ugly. and pogo cant make them all easy to do like that first class solitaire win 3 games in a row or that dice derby get 600+ tokens 10x, or even those texas holdem or omaha poker badges. oh well, thats what keeps us going back, isnt it?

Just wanted to follow up on this question that I asked. It appears that everyone does in fact have the same board. I wondered again today when three of us got 36 chains on the same board. So I double browsered under a friends name and we both had identical board layouts.
