I was just wondering if someone could tell me how to get the mini to show up :oin chat where the badge is normally displayed?

Goto profile / badges and scroll to the very bottom of your badges and you should see this :

In the Who's Here list, show my:

Pogo™ Mini

Is there any way I can put a maple leaf in my mini or any mini?

There is no maple leaf option given in Pogo. Maybe you should suggest one.
