Title: Jigsaw Detector
Post by: trixiepup on October 03, 2005, 03:11:22 AM
can someone help me with this please
once you start up jigsaw detector how do you stop it it?
the program uses my mouse/pointer and i have no control over it
so when it gets stuck on one piece the only option i have is to shut my comp down manually
is there a way to get out of the program without having to use the mouse?
any help is appreciated
thank you :)

I had that problem in the past, and at first no matter what I tried, it wouldn't work.. I believe that hitting the Esc key several times made it stop.. at least most of the time. Whenever I use that now, I kinda watch it when it starts, and puts the edge pieces together.. if you see where there are one or more pieces out of place, and aren't together with the rest of the edge pieces, that's a sign that it won't work the rest of the puzzle correctly, and you can usually move the mouse at the time when it's about to pull down the drawer to get the center pieces, and hopefully have enough time to click the stop button on the auto.

Perhaps this will be fixed in a later version. One thing I never got about this auto- it can place every edge piece exactly where it needs to be immediately, like it doesn't have to figure out where the edge pieces go.. but once that's done and it gets the center pieces, then it has to take each piece one by one and go along the top line only until they click in. So how does it know where the edges go, but not the center ones? It's not like it groups the different edges together, then has to figure out how they go together.. that entire edge can be done within a matter of a few seconds. Always seemed odd to me.. oh well.
