Hello. I ve seen this posted before, I did DO a search before I asked ;) Someone else has had the same problem, and Homer's response was to just redownload the cheat. Ive had to register it twice, second time finally accepted, but now it wont work. I either get " flanks encountered a problem and needs to close" or the cursor just sits there blinking, like it wants to shoot the ball. When I try to puase the game to figure something out, the cursor goes haywire and goes all over the screen. This is the only auto Im having an issue with. Any simpler fix than to delete it and start over with another password? I have:
Browser » Microsoft Internet Explorer
Screen Resolution » 1024x768
Color Depth » 32 bit
Smooth Fonts* » Enabled
Im running Windows XP. Ive tried unchecking the 2 top boxes for the smooth font thing. It didnt make a difference. Im also running Java sun? (The one with the coffe cup looking thing in the stat bar.) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated O0
You should disable smooth fonts. There are autos that won't work with that feature enabled. Try turning off Sun Java and use Microsoft VM.
Where do we find the smooth fonts tab? :-\
Right click on your desktop> click properties>Appearance>Effects>Uncheck Smooth edges of fonts
Ahhh, ok, thanks Homer :) Mine was unchecked. :)
Your welcome. ;)

Hey Homer. OK, I disabled the smooth fonts...No go. So then I went in and unchecked the Java 2 v 1.4 2_03. That didnt help either. Where would I find the Microsoft VM one? My computer is 2 years old. Or should I just delete the auto and re-download? Will I have a problem getting a new password? Thanks...
Microsoft VM should be in the advanced tab right below the Sun Java. You want to check the box that says JIT Compiler. If it is not there you can download it from our club center the link is in the double browser tips.

OK, got the MS VM. Checked the boc that said JIT. Still didnt help Flanks. Ya know whats weird, when I go to open Flanks, a box that looks like that black DOS page opens first, then the auto opens. Guess maybe I'll have to redownload cheat. Im SO glad I downloaded the MS VM though!!!! WOW, my pogo games load in seconds now!! Before, it took FOREVER, and I have satellite connection, not dial up. Anyway, after I re-download flanks, do I email for the password at the same badgehelp address? Thanks so much for all the help.
If you registered it already it should recognize it as being registered.

I deleted it last night and it was still registered when I re-downloaded it. Still dont work though. Oh well, maybe in a few months they'll come up with a new version. Thanks Anyway.
I know this may sound silly...but I changed my windows theme to Silver and some of the autos that weren't working magically started to function again.
I use the silver theme and all the autos work here.
Ok this may sound dumb but what is a silver theme and how do I change to silver theme, couldn't seem to find a silver theme in my desktop properties ???
it should be there ..
1) "right click" your desktop and select "properties"
2) Cleck on the "appearance" tab
3) Look for "Color scheme:" and click on the down arrow till you see "silver"
4) Click "Apply"
... and your ready to go O0
Well I did look and there are a lot of color themes but no silver...hmmm :( I guess my comp doesn't have any silver
Are you running windows 2000?
Ummm...no...XP
Hmm .. weird. I'm using XP pro myself
Ok I got it now.. I was in windows classic...silver is in XP style thanks I learned something new :)
Arrrrrghhhhh!!! >:(
The flanks.exe program worked fine until the end of the trial period. I registered it and now it gives me problems. I've even found the silver theme and changed it. I've advanced the acceleration (slowed because of squelchies). I've tried using it at different periods of the day - in case the # of people online/in the room affects the usage. I've started Phlinx 1st then Flanks and vice versa.
Windows XP Classic & Silver Home Edition Ver 2002 SP2
Intel Celeron 1400 Mhz/1.4Ghz/384MB RAM
Browser: IE & Firefox
Hardware acceleration: Full
Screen Resolution: 1280 by 768
Color quality: Highest 32 bit
Nvidia Gforce graphix card MX 4000 128MB
What am i doing wrong???????
What are the Problems you are having?
Flanks finds the game, docks, plays 1 stonel <throws it on the pillar> loads another stone and i can see the cursor clicking but nothing moves.
See id deleting the program and redownloading helps.
it did for about 19 rounds @ 1a....it stopped playing and now im back to square 1.
You say you turned your hardware acceleration up. Turn it down and try it.
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with Flanks. It was working, but now all it does is put the first ball into the ball holder and then the cursor just flashes. I have to make it shoot balls until I can get the cursor on the Pause button to stop it and close it. When I click on the exe icon it opens a DOS window first - I don't think this is unusual though. I have deleted and re-downloaded twice. I have set my hardware acceleration to one notch left of Full. I use the regular Blue Windows XP appearance, but I did change it to Silver just to see what would happen - no change.
Here are my other settings:
) Operating system (Windows XP SP2)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2 and Mozilla 1.0.7)
3) Color setting (32 bit)
4) Screen resolution (1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts unchecked
6) What Java you are using: MS Java with JIT compiler checked but I have Sun also
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program - described above
Thanks in advance for any help!. This is the only problem I have ever had, and I am a 150 Club member, so that's saying something. Thanks to everyone at BadgeHelp! Happy 2006 to all!

Just to update...
With all the other settings the same as in my previous post, I changed the Java to Sun (just for kicks) and ran Flanks in both IE and Mozilla. It still did not work, but instead of the cursor being all blinky and shooting the one ball into the holder and stopping, the game does not do anything. It gives the message that the game is found in the browser window. But, it doesn't do anything else.
Any ideas????
Thanks in advance!
Happy 2006!
Rose
