There has been some frustration by some of BadgeHelps customers because of "recurring icons/directories". Their frustration comes from not understanding the way these programs work.
When you download one of Joshua's programs, you get that ugly 16-color shield that everyone hates. THAT is your install program. ONLY use that ONE time. That install program puts the icon for the agent on your desktop (or not, thanks to Joshua's update) and installs the program in the BadgeHelp folder. This is the way all modern, top line programs work these days. NEVER click on the install program again, since THAT is what puts the icons back.
How do you use your agent, then? The smart thing to do would be to let the install program put the icon for the agent on the desktop. Then, if you don't want it there, just put that icon some place that you'd be able to find it again. Or if you prefer, when the install program asks you if you want a desktop icon, just select "no" and run the program by clicking on "Start>Programs>BadgeHelp". Then, just select your agent. Do NOT delete the agent from your "C:\Program Files\BadgeHelp" folder since this is where your agent operates.
This way there's no need to become frustrated with "reappearing icons".
I got news for you, those icons reappear anyway. I always delete the install programs, and it is very frustrating to keep deleting icons and badge help folders off the start menu.
