Who is going to buy a xbox 360 tomorrow? Im not but I'm getting one for christmas so thats all good.
Hell no- I would never pay that much, let alone buy Microsoft's first release of something. It's bound to have issues, plus I am sure someone will get one due to all the hype and won't be impressed, then sell it on ebay O0 I want a revelotion!
I'm with Homer on this one....a true fan of Sony and nothing will ever change that!
Does anyone know when the PS3 will be out?
early spring O0
Thanks. I wasn't expecting it for Christmas. Does anyone know anything about the PSP's? Thinking of getting one for my son.

I personally think the hype is ridculous and that they are not needed {ie do you really need to play your video game while taking a crap or on the bus?}. I guess I could see if you traveled a lot or something but IMO the money is much better spent on a home console and some games. That said, some people really like em. O0
going to wait and see if the 360 anygood before wasteing $$$$ on it O0 O0
Well yes he does need something to entertain him while we are in the car. His grandma lives an hour away, and he is impatient in the car. He has a PS2, and a Video Now. He is only 6 years old, but he has autism and requires something to keep him occupied so I don't have to straightjacket him to the seat of the car. :(
To be honest...I think those game boxes and ps3 and all that other stuff is a bunch of garbage....the kids nowadays need structure and teaching...that doesn't mean sticking them in front of the TV or with a box they play games on...if you gonna give them a box to play games on make sure they are learning games not violence games.I know that a lot of you will have something to say about what I just said....but that is the way i feel. If they have a learning disability that can be a different story...but for the kids that don't have a disability it should be learning games... ENJOY
Well of course I have something to say. LOL I don't use the video games, or the tv as a babysitter. Yes, I know that many people do but I am not one of them.
V-Smile by V-Tech is for small children and actually it teaches them a lot. Letters, numbers, reading, math. I feel this is the best educational game system, but it is only for small children. It has taught my son a lot. I want a PSP so he can watch Sesame Street, etc while we are in the car. He has to do something while we are driving and I prefer it to be learning and being calm instead of getting me pulled over for jumping up and down, or breaking my car windows.

one word: entertainment video games are a form of entertainment for people, therefore people dont want to learn playing them and believe it or not they do teach some skills, hand eye coordination, reflex timing, and the strategy games work your thinking skills, but you pretty much contradicted yourself there because you play video games, pogo is a gaming site and they arent educational.
Good point, Cody. Pogo is not educational, and yet we are all here. O0
Just what I was saying Angel. But doesn't those games just go up to a certain grade level? I don't know how old you are but I have a 30 year class reunion next year(yikes) and when I was growing up we didn't have those things and I think we were all the better for it....OH GEEZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEE...now someone is gonna say something about THAT...lol ENJOY UT OH...Well cody...pogo IS educational...You can learn how to spell and count. ENJOY
Yes, I do believe the games only go up to a certain grade level. I am only 26, and my son is 6. I had video games when I was little so I am not going to deprive my son. There is a limit to everything and parents need to enforce that. I wouldn't want my 6 year old playing a violent game, but when he is older I don't see a problem with that.
and you cant learn how to count spell in other games? maybe its just the age barrier between us im 16 and your what.. 40-50? thats probobly why we argue as much as we do persistance.
It is not an argument cody...I was just stating my opinion.....and with you being only 16...shouldn't you be in the bed getting your rest instead of on the puter????? lol ENJOY by the way I'm 47
umm I'm out of school all this week so I can be up as late as I want.
OH thats right Thanksgiving break....ummmmm ok you are forgiven...lol I'm sorry if you think I am being arguementive with you I'm not...Like I said I was just stating my opinion...I do realize that not everyone will agree with what I said...that is why I made the statement I did about other people having something to say about what I said......But I will defend the right to express my opinion till the day I die. ENJOY
I for one will not be. We are avid sony players (and also nintendo as the kids all have gameboys) I am looking forward to playstation 3 in the spring. But my kids are now asking for gameboy micros or PSP's. They are not getting them right now, too expensive I have enough too spend on computer, and PS2 games this year without adding new consoles and games. Geez when we got the gameboy's they were 100 a piece. And you can't just get for one child. But they are great on long car rides. But I have to say that video games aren't garbage when you don't let them rule in the kids playtime as long as they are used minimally, and the kids still read daily and have outdoor play it's fine. It's the ones that veg out all day at video games that are a problem. ;D LOL LOL LOL ;D I should talk I spend hours upon hours playing pogo!!!!!!!!! And you can't expect to pound them with learning games all the time, my son is very very smart and reads very well for his young age(and loves to read books with me daily) because of learning computer games and there are many for the elemantary school aged children up to fifth grade i believe. But most video game systems really only have learning games for the young children like preschool and letter and number games as far as I know. But if that was all I let him play he probably wouldn't care for it much so he is also allowed to play the fun games too.
Cody funny you happen to say that Over here My radio station was just giving them out, if you guess where any of their staff was around town. One was close to my house but too rainy go out too look for the guy.

I totally agree with you Momma. We have the PS2, GameCube (both of which my husband plays more of than the kids, lol) and my tow older boys have Game Boys. They are only allowed to play on Fridays and the weekends depending on how well they did the previous week in school. And like you said, as long as they don't totally take over and replace all other activity in a child's playtime, it's okay. And they ARE fantastic for long car rides, lol.
We have an xbox, going to wait 2-3 months for an xbox 360 in case there are any kinks in it, a ps2, and a game cube. Hubby a HUGE video game fan, so are our kids. However, the kids can only play for a max of half hour a day and on weekends, an hour. And only after chores and homework have been done. Hubby plays on them quite a bit, but only on his days off and after we've done what we need to get done that day. I grew up on video games, and not about ready to give it up. I still have an ateri and the original nintendo systems that still works quite well and about 150 games for both those systems.
QuoteI still have an ateri and the original nintendo systems that still works quite well and about 150 games for both those systems.
Wow!!! I had to get rid of our original nintendo after having it for over fifeteen years it was shot a few years back and for some reason it took me forever to get rid of it. I miss having atari (also had when i was kid). But luckily for me I have a gameboy game with original frogger, one of my favorite atari games and i believe it has pong and pole position too. no one but me is allowed to play as i had a hard time finding it in stores LOL. My kids have lost a couple GB games as they have so many and they are small, and I am not taking any chances!!!
no body is allowed to play the nintendo or ateri expect for hubby or me-after all these years they work great and I take very good care of them. Amazing that todays game systems are so much better than what we grew up on.
Heck yeah, today's games are sooo much better. Some of our games my kids are better than us at playing. My son is better than me and he's only six!! I have only beaten two games (the cat in the hat and Shrek) out of the many, PS1 and PS2 games we own!! Isn't that pathetic!!!!! :'( But I also don't play as much as my hubby or the kids. I asked hubby for resident evil 4 for christmas as one of my presents but will probably spend months trying to get through the beginning LOL LOL LOL. Come to think of it my resident evil games are the only ones that are mine all the rest are everyone else's!!!! That doesn't seem too fair. But I hardly play anyways cause I am soooo much better at my pogo games!!!!!!!
Top bid on ebay is $3100 for the Xbox 360 :o
Some people have too much money and too few brains :o

im sure a tv is included with that or something lol.
;D Game Stop is offering a bundle with everything for the new system and a 42" Plasma tv for only 4400 so you do the math.

I have a Nintendo and a Super Nintendo and I LOVE them- I think they, along with my N64, get more play than my PS2 LOL
No 360 for me...PS3 will blow it away. 360 is nice, but Sony will be better.
As for video games, they are a MUST in college. We'd play Madden & NCAA football for hours & for money!

I camped out at Fry Electronics to get a premium system..and they were so jacked up that straglers starting comming out of nowhere at opening cutting in line..but we wrote down a list of who was there since 10PM the following night plus took pictures as proof... so i got it although they are a ripoff (Fry's that is) you had to buy their "bundle" only.. which wasnt a bundle at all.. you HAD TO BUY 2 GAMES! no if's ands or butts! if you didnt buy the two games then you were SOL. I enjoy the xbox though.. i also enjoy the Playstation... if you look at the two.. Xbox looks like a computer..the PS3 looks like a printer.. maybe i can make a full working system! hehe

Just curious, why wouldn't you buy 2 games? You got to enjoy every bit of gaming. Buying 1 is a given, plus, might as well drop another $60 if your buying a $400 system lol. I'd get Madden & Call of Duty.
i had to go pick up my games for it today, yet i won't have the system for a few weeks now i have quake 4 to stare at
Pre Ordered from Game Crazy in August...Had to be paid in Full before 9:30 pm 11:21 Picked up 11/22/ 12:02am Premium Package. Grapics are great. :D Will probably also pre-order PS3 .... :-*

Yes Bill. Some people do have too much money. Unfortunately I am not one of those people. :'(
All we hafta do is get our hands on one or two of these bad boys and post them on ebay. Then we'd be rich too. Well, richer. Well, we'd have a couple dollars until payday :)
we have a 360 and me personally.. i dont care for it. i am glad we won ours on every10minutes.com. i wouldn't have wasted money on it. i was told it plays all the old xbox games. coming to find out it will play some but you have to download something off the internet into the 360 for the games you want to play so it will play. as far as mountain dew. i have to give them some credit. i figured we would have gotten the cheap version of the 360 and we didn't. we got the top of the line one with the hard drive and wireless controller etc. :) i prefer the old xbox.. thats just my opinion. :P
You won yours and don't care for it? Put it up on ebay, maybe you'll get someone desperate enough to pay over $1000 for it. It'd be free money for you.
apparently people are saying its a conspiracy now..that microsoft has this "fake" shortage and they will be releasing more systems on Black Friday. That way people go "oh crap! theres one here for 400! ill take it!" impulse buy = microsoft $$... we'll seee if its true

Backwards compatibility is a big issue with gamers. That's why I like Sony. O0
sony all the way for me 2...even though I have the other systems, my heart lies with sony
That's why I am waiting for the new Nintendo- supossedly you will be able to play any games they ever offered :o
even the very old games from 1989?

from what i understand- my *guess* is that it will be an online arsenal of games and your system will work as an emulator- so you will probably have to connect online- maybe for a monthly fee? I have been following it in the EG magazine but no word as to how that will happen.
I'm a BIG gamer and got a 360 yesterday for my sister, [ordered the Omega bundle from Gamestop.com for myself].
I have to admit that I play Xbox more than anything, but my heart still lies with Playstation.
About the Revolution q: Yes you can play EVERY game EVER released....EVER! Not exactly sure how it's going to work...but yeah...every game you'll be able to get.
i think you get like a pay for play type thing, you pay like 2$ and you get like a shareware of the game (from downloads)
