Title: Fortune Teller needs a tune-up
Post by: Jinx55 on November 22, 2005, 11:48:28 PM
Please Oh Please is there not anyone else out there still trying to get that Big Mouth of Dotties?  I mean the badge  :-[  I would like to get up once in a while and leave this auto but it just has to have a babysitter.  ::)  It gets a bingo and then waits 3-4 more numbers before it recognizes it and hits the gong.  The most irritating part tho, is it will not cover the last # called, if someone calls bingo, even if I have bingo  >:(

I know I have posted almost exactly this before, I'm just anxious for a fix---I've given up on using Room Rover with this, the games never load when it tries to change rooms    Cannot Joshua or someone make something similar to the gone bye-bye Dotties Dauber?  It worked with MSJM and Room Rover.  Okay I've said my last piece on this subject........for now 8)

I does kinda work with Sun Java---but you have to babysit so much you might as well not use it and just mark the #'s yourself  :(

We need your computer specs every time you have a problem with one of the agents.  It goes something like this:

1) Operating system (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc)
2) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)
3) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)
4) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked
6) What Java you are using
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program

The programmers at BadgeHelp LOVE to help make the programs the best on the market and make their customers happy.  You just need to help them out a little by giving them this information.   ;)

1) Operating system  XP  SP2
2) Browser Internet Explorer
3) Color setting  32 bit
4) Screen resolution  1024x768
5) Smooth edges of screen fonts  unchecked
6) What Java you are using----Sun Java---tried MSJVM and it doesn't work-well it marks wrong #'s and acts crazy
7) Is anything at all happening when you start the program--Works (kinda) with Sun Java---3-4 # delay marking #'s, same with hitting gong ---waits till 3-4 other #'s are called---will not mark last # called, even if you have bingo
Will not work with Room Rover (with Sun Java) loads first room fine...after that will not load

By the way I have posted all these before....Thanks

Thank you for giving us this important information that we badly need to get your program working.  This will help the programmer understand what the problem is with FortuneTeller.

We cannot assume that the settings for your computer stay the same from moment to moment.  Many users change their settings often and even upgrade their systems.  Since you're helping BadgeHelp make this program better, it will DEFINITELY be worth it to include this little bit of information.

thanks Mira, I certainly hope the FortuneTeller program can be improved.. O0..it would be great if it could run with MS Java, then it could be used with Room Rover again  :D

Hi MiraStarr, are you a new Admin or do you just work for Pogocheats?  8)

I am having the same problem whereas, I load the game...I click Fortune Teller...and the window pops up and states that it cant find the game window.

1.  I am using Windows xp pro
2.  Screen res is set correctly (1024 x 768)
3.  smooth edges are unchecked
4.  32 bit color is correctly set

I still can not get the auto to work.  Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thank you

You did not say what Java you are using--it needs to be Sun if you are using IE browser,  also I get better results using Classic Windws theme with XP
FortuneTeller still not fully fixed and I find you need to babysit  :(  --update expected soon  ;D

Oh try deleating what you've got and re-download I've never had the problem with it not finding the game

Thanks for the complements, you guys.

I just tested FortuneTeller.  The numbers were marked fine and there was no craziness.  The most likely problem is smooth fonts.  Just for fun, try this experiment.  Turn Smooth Fonts on.  Then, run FortuneTeller and see if that works any better.  Don't get too attached to those settings, though.  Joshua will be overhauling FortuneTeller very soon.

Here are the system settings on which FortuneTeller was tested just in case you are curious:
xp
firefox
sun java
smooth fonts checked

If you don't know how to change you smooth fonts settings, right click on your desktop and select "Properties".  Select the tab that reads, "Effects" (If you don't see an "Effects" tab, click on the "Appearance" tab and then the "Effects" button).  You should see a little check box for smooth fonts.

"Joshua will be overhauling FortuneTeller very soon."(quoth MiraStarr)  IF--IF-- Josua could just make The FortuneTeller 'agent' work with MS Java...then...it would work with Room Rover.....and  then I'd be back to Fortune Bingo Overnight  :D :D :D :D

Got a question for you if I may ask you...  I forgot where I am to look to put check mark smoothing of edges and whatnot.  My computer crashed today and lost everything.

Homer and Mira,

I think it would be very helpful to everyone if we knew exactly which types of Bingo games the Fortune Teller WILL play and which it is not designed to play.

I know that I can play 1 card Blackout, and 3 card Slow games with it.. but that there are some Bingo game configurations that the Fortune Teller does just sit there and not play. I don't know exactly which types of Bingo game rooms they are, though.

BTW, I have good results with Fortune Teller, as long as I don't stumble into the type of room that Fortune Teller will not play in. It may be 6 card.
I am  having problems when I " room hop" and go into ANY type of Bingo game after it has started, especially Blackout.

The basic guidelines of which settings and which types of Fortune Bingo to go into would be VERY helpful on here and on the page with the Fortune Teller Auto at BH.
Thanks!!!!!!
