Yeah, he pretty much said it when he was handed the trophy...What reason would he have to come back? I just hope he doesn't leave Pittsburgh for good...
Well done Bussie...time to park it. :-*

Did the Steeler fans here actually read that entire story, or just assume what it is about and respond that way? I did not see anything in there that said the Steelers did not deserve to win the championship. In fact, the Seahawks' QB Matt Hasselbeck said, "The Steelers played well enough to win tonight, and we didn't.
They should get credit. It's disappointing, it's hard, but what are you going to do?". And the author of the story specifically wrote, "And guys like Bill Cowher, Ward, Dan Rooney and The Bus are
all very deserving of a championship -- and it's nice to see them win one -- but it would have been better had it not happened like this." And I think that is all this whole story is about- just the way it happened, not that it happened at all. And if all of you Steeler fans can say you watched that entire game and didn't see a single thing wrong with the officiating, either for or against your Steelers, than you must have been looking too long through your black and gold colored glasses. This story points out in detail every mistake that was made, and there were plenty. For the officials to be
that bad in a Super Bowl, a game where it is supposed to have the best officiating crew working it (by evaluation and grading during the season), it was a joke.. it was more like a pre-season game for them than the biggest game of the year. That crew should never work another playoff game again. Yes, the Steelers and their fans can celebrate a Super Bowl victory and know they earned it.. but wouldn't you fans even have wanted it in a better way than how it happened in that game? I know I would have, if I were a fan of a team who won the big game like that. And that's not saying that Pitt still wouldn't have won in the end, but it would have been a better played game had it been called better.

I did read the whole article. I also heard Mike frickin Holmgren telling the Media that not only did his team have to beat the Steelers, but also the officiating. Yes, It was not the best officiating ever. But show me one playoff game this season that was perfect in that regard. To cast the shadow of doubt muddies a clear victory. My point was this...I bet that feels great for the players (insert sarcasm here).
I don't think anyone on the Steelers is gonna say that was a great officiated game either.. even if most of the bad calls went their way. I think they are smart enough to know bad calls when they see them, whether or not they want to admit it, being as they won the game. And the Steelers aren't new to this, they were on the other side in the Indy game when Porter criticized the officials for trying to take the game from the Steelers instead of in favor of them, which is what everyone thinks this time around. And Porter even made his comments after his team won the game! Why in the world you would criticize officials and risk fines or suspensions (none were given), after winning is beyond me. So considering that fact, I don't think Pittsburgh, it's players or fans, can balk at Holmgren or any Seahawks or fans for being a tad upset over the bad calls they got, and then losing the game on top of it. If your own guy can do it after winning, why criticize someone who got worse calls then what Porter was complaining about, and then lost to boot? I wonder if you were upset with Porter for perhaps bringing a dark cloud over his own team for what should be a big victory over the Colts when he made his comments then? Seems like the same kind of thing that you think Holmgren is doing to Pitt.

lmao...thanks for the laugh PB. :D
It's funny that after every big game like the super bowl the team that loses always has to blame there loss on someone other then themselves. It's a very simple solution 1 team has to win and 1 team has to lose so why blame the loss on the officials? are'nt the officials out there doing the best job they can?
maybe they need the big screen with the instant replay brought back in the game? NOT lol
they honored heath with a plaque at the school board office and had a celebration party. It was in the news paper..

lol... that story proves nothing. Of course the NFL is gonna stick behind their officials.. the only times that they ever come out and say something was called wrong, is when a play can't be reviewed but the replays clearly and undeniably show that something was called the wrong way. And as your own link points out, every call that was questionable in that game, the video replays can't undeniably show which call is the absolute correct one, hence they couldn't be overturned. The only play that the replays definitely showed was called wrong, was when Hasselbeck made his tackle after the INT, but was called for a chop block, and of course that wasn't even reviewed so replay couldn't even come into effect on that. Technically, what the NFL said was true, it was a "properly officiated" game.. because the refs made the calls, looked at the replays when it was necessary, and came back with the same calls because they can't overturn something when there's no definite proof to overturn.. but that doesn't mean every call on the field is the correct one, show me any game where that happens.. it just so happened in this game that those calls were on big plays, and important plays, and they got the majority of them wrong in the end. And you highlighted what I said about this game having worse calls than what Porter crieid about, as if that is wrong or something, but it's obvious. The one on Porter didn't even take points off the board or end up being a game changing play, his team wasn't even losing. But I guess you were behind him 100% on that call right? The refs must have been out to take the game away from the Steelers cuz Porter said so.. even though it was
one call that didn't affect the outcome.
LMFAO....I guess it was option 2.

thats bull..oh well, as i said somehwere else before..they won and its over..take those sour grapes and make whine!!!
regardless of any bad calls.the seahawks played very poorly and didnt come close to taking any control of the game.
The Seahawks had every oppurtunity to win the game. Did the refs influence the game? Certainly, but how do you know the Steelers wouldn't have responded to the adversity as well. Granted it wasn't a pretty SB but Pittsburgh won and there is no sense in crying over something that can not be changed. Seattle has no one to blame but themselves. ;)
the only chance seattle really had was when they got the ball to the 1 then had a penalty called to bring it back.and it was an actual penalty.other then that they were just awful.

20 Reasons Seattle Can't Blame the Refs:
1. The Refs didn't give up the longest run in SB history...Seattle's defense did.
2. The Refs didn't bite on a 43 yd trick play, Randle to Ward for a TD...Seattle's defense did.
3. The Refs didn't allow Ben to scramble around on a 3rd and 28 and complete a long pass to the 2 yd. line...Seattle's defense did.
4. The Refs didn't miss two field goals - that was Seattle.
5. The Refs didn't fail to step out of bounds late in the 1st half to stop the clock in Pitt territory in a crunch time situation...Seattle's offense did.
6. The Refs didn't let the 1st half clock tick down from 48 seconds all the way down to 13 seconds before finally running their next play at Pitt's 36 yd line...Seattle's offense did.
7. And on this play, 3rd down, 53 yds. away from a FG, it wasn't the Refs who tried and failed to go deep for a TD rather than a safer 5-7 yd play and timeout setting up a much easier FG attempt....that, again, would be Seattle's offense.
8. The Refs didn't get confused by Pitt's zone defense and throw an INT...that would be Seattle's QB.
9. The Refs didn't let a little physical contact intimidate them from catching 4 very catchable passes...that would be the Seattle TE Jeremy Stevens.
10. With approx. 20 seconds left in the game, knowing they need a TD and FG, in no particular order, and in easy FG range on 4th down, it wasn't the Refs who ignored the FG and elected to throw up a prayer trying for a TD...that AGAIN would be Seattle.
And Seattle if you're Steel salty and steel reaching for excuses...
11. The Refs didn't constantly punt deep into the end zone, repeatedly giving Pitt the ball at the 20 yd line...that of course was Seattle.
12. It wasn't the Refs who received a Christmas gift wrapped easy INT lobbed in perfect position to return deep into Pitt territory...the lucky beneficiary of that break would be Seattle.
13. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when a Steeler DB dropped an easy interception early in the game...that too would be a break for Seattle.
14. It wasn't the Refs who caught a break when a Steeler WR dropped a very catchable TD pass...that break again would go to Seattle.
15. It wasn't the scapegoat Refs that received a break when a WR caught the ball, turned, stepped, was hit hard enough to cause a fumble, and then ruled INCOMPLETE...that would be of course, another chance for Seattle.
(this was an interesting call considering that after Troy's famous overruled Int, the NFL stated that it WAS a catch. If so, than this definitely WAS a catch)
16. The Refs weren't the ones who caught a break when at the conclusion of a 2nd qtr play, as a Pitt DE was walking away, the Seattle Center blindsided the defenseless player, leveling him to the ground. This mysteriously unseen crime was again another break for Seattle.
17. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when Pitt QB Big Ben was blocked in the back as he pursued the DB who he'd tossed an interception to...that again would go to Seattle.
18. It wasn't the Refs who stopped Seattle RB Alexander in a few key situations. That would be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
19. It wasn't the Refs who converted many of their 3rd downs yet stopped their opponent on 3rd down often...that would be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
20. And the very bottom line is this...On plays when there weren't any penalties...One team made plays and one team didn't. The end result was the final score. Seattle was outcoached and outplayed.
Get over it Seattle, lose with a little dignity.
Congratulations to the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. WE STEEL BELIEVE!
Wow, took ya pretty long to finally come up with that list, lol.
On another note Foxx! My daughter got to party with Russ Grimm and some of the Steelers staff after the parade. She even has a picture of Russ picking her up like she was a sack of potatoes.

more later...that took way too long! ;)
I don't blame the refs. I blame Seattle. As I stated they had their chances and came up empty.
I'm a bit surprised Disney didn't come up with some kind of commercial with the Steelers entire team.
Something along the lines of them going to Disney World but we're taking the Bus!
You could have shown the whole team hanging out the windows of yellow school buses with Jerome sitting behind the steering wheel. :D

That sounds like a million dollar idea, Homer...Perhaps you are in the wrong business???? But don't even think of leaving, cause we might have to hurt you.... ;)
lol..they had the one commercial with ward saying he was going to disney world and taking the bus...but nothing like the one you dreamed up homer...i think that would be cool!!!
