I have tried both, and got very mixed results. Maybe it was bad luck, I don't know, but I turned off JAVA and used MS VM ( Virtual Machine compiler) instead in Quick Quack with Quack Attack running.
I played 5 gasmes with VM and the results were:
-Scores in the 500- 600 range only but no error messages
-MS VM did read the two colored ducks correctly
I repeated the trial with 5 games with VM off, PC restarted and Java enabled ( after cache cleared):
-My scores were consistently twice that of the previous VM- use scores
- Quack Attack did hang up on two color ducks some of the time, but not always.. It was hit or miss.
Have any of you tried one Applet feature over the other and if so, did MS VM ever outperform Sun Java?
Sun Java is my preferred application, but I am still having problems with auto agents which have been developed a long time and updated recently.
Thanks to any techies who can help. :)
i use msvm on my computer and sun java.. its good to have both installed.. sometimes i notice that sun java makes certain pogo games play at a faster rate and when you run an auto at a fast speed you get the boot and the cripies error comes up.. i alter between the two javas. i found that msvm does work best if your gonna run an auto for a long while. it may all depend on your computers speed though and if it can handle it.
I use both java's also. Some games just run better with one or the other, even when playing by hand. I haven't tried comparing the two java's. I'll give it a try tonight.
i would like to know that also which is better :o i have both also ??? great question i want O0
I use msjvm only as i find it works better for me i found that sun java did cause some of the autos to play up, i also have nothing checked.
Msjvm i found to be more stable than sun java, it tends to play the games better over a long period and i dont get any loading problems with msjvm, my jigsaw detector will only work with msjvm.
Not all computers are the same so i think it is a case of trial and error untill you find which works best for you, what works for some does not work for the others,
I do hope you find what you are looking for here in these answers,
tyvm shun O0
id like to say sun works better than MSJVM when it comes to auto's O0
have both and ms is alot better to play long periods of time then sun
sun..........hands down! O0
It depends on the auto. Set up IE to use MSVM and
Firefox to use SUN and use the brouser with the java that works best for the auto you are using. It wont take you long to know which autos work best with which Java.
