MAKING YOUR OWN GLITTER FILES

STEP 1: GETTING THE PROGRAMS AND FILES NEEDED

Go here and download a free trial version of PSP 8 and the resource packs
http://www.jasc.com/products/trialreg.asp?pid=k-psp8-usdir

Go here and download a free trial version of Animation Shop
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Downloads/Trials

Once you've installed the above programs... click on this link to install the filters. I saved it to my Received Files folder. Then opened it and copied the VisMan folder to C:/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint Shop Pro 8/Plugins

http://www.photoshop-filters.com/downloads/visman/visman.zip

To see what these filters do go to: http://www.photoshop-filters.com/html/visman.htm

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Home
Click on Communities here you get your picture tubes. They will go in your PSP Picture Tubes file.

MAKING GLOBES

Here's what the globe will look like:

(https://img54.imageshack.us/img54/5083/indianglobe4au.gif) (https://img54.imageshack.us/img54/5083/indianglobe4au.gif)

STEP 1: YOUR PICTURE(S)

Your picture needs to have a background. If you are using a transparent picture, select a 2nd picture to use as a background.

These are the images I used for this tutorial:

This is the Globe Tube I used:

Download <A HREF="http://www.pogocheats.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=20648.0;id=258">Globe Tube</A>
Save and copy to your PSP Tubes folder.

This is the Globe Base I used:

Download <A HREF="http://www.pogocheats.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=20648.0;id=257">Fancy Base Tube</A>Fancy Base Tube
Save and copy to your PSP Tubes folder.

Download <A HREF="http://www.pogocheats.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=20648.0;id=259">Gold Sparkle Tube</A>
Save and copy to your PSP Tubes folder.

1. Open PSP, Click File and Open. Open your picture(s).

2. If using 1 picture, skip the next step.

STEP 2: GETTING YOUR PICTURE READY

1. Clean up the edges if needed. I had to remove the grey/white edge around the image. Using the magic wand tool (https://img137.imageshack.us/img137/8650/magicwand7wn.jpg) click on the grey/white areas around the image and click on the sissors. Repeat this until you are able to select all of the part of the picture that you don't want at one time. With some images there is not enough edge and it will only select one section at a  time. If this is happening right click on image (no more dotted lines) and  click on image  and change your canvas size.

2. With the part that you don't want selected click on Selections. Then, Invert.

(https://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6392/invert1zw.jpg) (https://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6392/invert1zw.jpg)

ADDING GLITTER TO AN ANIMATION

STEP 1: SELECTING AN ANIMATION

TIPS:
1. Use an animation with minimal movement or 4 or fewer frames until you get the basics of adding glitter to the images. You will need to select the area you want to add glitter to on each frame separately.

2. Use an animation that has colors that are easy to select. As you master selecting using the different tools then use animations that has many colors or colors that are similar.

The image used for this tutorial:

(https://img239.imageshack.us/img239/7432/bunnybottle2em.gif) (https://img239.imageshack.us/img239/7432/bunnybottle2em.gif)

STEP 2: ANIMATION SHOP

1. Open the image you want to use in animation shop.
2. Press Ctrl + A to select all the frames.
3. Press Ctrl + C to copy all the frames.

STEP 3: PSP

1. Open PSP
2. Click on Edit, then select Paste. Next select As Animation As Multiple Images

(https://img78.imageshack.us/img78/269/bunnyframes2st.gif) (https://img78.imageshack.us/img78/269/bunnyframes2st.gif)

STEP 4: SELECTING PARTS OF THE IMAGE TO ADD GLITTER TO

1. Click on the Magic Wand Tool (https://img434.imageshack.us/img434/4825/magicwand3an.jpg) . You will have to adjust the tolerance so that you can get the parts of parts of the image you want to glitter.

For this image settings are 60% tolerance, Mode is Add(Shift)

(https://img235.imageshack.us/img235/3624/bunnyselect7fj.gif) (https://img235.imageshack.us/img235/3624/bunnyselect7fj.gif)

2. Click on the image where you want to add glitter.
TIPS:
If you need to adjust the tolerance to get the parts you want selected. I would do all of that part of the image in all the frames with the same tolerance setting. Then, go back to image 1 and change the tolerance. Select the part of the image that needs that tolerance setting. Then do the other frames using that tolerance. Repeat until you have what you want selected.

You can also use Ctrl + Shift + I to select the opposite part of the image. You can use this to switch back and forth to get the parts you want selected.

Press the S to use the Selection Tool (https://img52.imageshack.us/img52/9555/selectiontool2rl.jpg) . You can use this to select parts to glitter also.
3. Repeat #2 for all other frames in the animation.

4. Make 3 copies of each frame by clicking on each frame and clicking Shift +D 2 times. For this image you will end up with 12 frames.

STEP 5: ADDING NOISE

1. Go to image 1. Click on Adjust. Then, click on Add/Remove Noise. Now click on Add Noise. Do this for both copies also changing the noise amount.

Settings: For this image I used 30, 35, 40% noise with Gaussian and Monochrome checked.

If it is what you want, Click on File. Then, Save As
Pick a file name and save as a gif file. You are done.

If it's not, go to step 8.

STEP 8: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE ANIMATION

1. If the glitter isn't moving enough or to much, press ctrl + A to select all the frames. Then press Alt + enter to adjust the frame properties. Here adjust the display time.

2. Another adjustment you can make is to duplicate frames. Select the frame(s) you want to duplicate. Press Ctrl + C. Select the frame you want it to come after and press Ctrl + Shift + L

For this image I selected the first 3 frames by clicking on frame 1 holding down the shift key and clicking on the 3rd frame. I then pressed Ctrl + C. Clicked on frame 3 and pressed Ctrl + Shift + L to paste the 3 frames after frame 3. I pasted the frames 4 times. When done I had 24 frames.

(https://img487.imageshack.us/img487/9920/bunnyselecting3ns.gif) (https://img487.imageshack.us/img487/9920/bunnyselecting3ns.gif)

(https://img487.imageshack.us/img487/7260/bunnypaste37vk.gif) (https://img487.imageshack.us/img487/7260/bunnypaste37vk.gif)

The first image is the original, Second without adding the extra frames, Third final with adding the frames.
By adding the frames instead of slowing down the delay time it keeps the glitter moving and slows down the eye blinking.
