All I can say is "Holy Politically Correct B***S*** Batman!" This piece of tripe was taken from this week's Letters to the Editor.
Now, just as a disclaimer, I am all for animal rights. I make donations to the WWF and ASPCA. I've even helped out with fundraisers for a local shelter. But at what point do we stop, take a deep breath, and say "Get a LIFE!"
Unhappy With Bulls in the Background
Hi,
Let me start off by letting you guys (and girls) know how much I love Pogo! You can see I have been a long, long time, faithful member, but as much as I love, love, love Pogo, I was highly offended by the background listing on Pogo featuring the bull for Spain. This entire situation regarding the bulls in Spain is archaic and barbaric, and I find that the portraying of the bull in the background in an arena of all places highly offensive. I would very much like the bull to be removed from the background. I don't mean to sound petty but it's an idea that a lot of people have fought against and seeing in situations such as this does not help.

Editor: Thank you for your thoughts regarding the recent background and Matador costume for the Minis. We certainly did not mean to offend you or anyone with this release. We will take your concerns into thought while we plan out future Mini releases.
hmm....I kinda thought the same thing when I read it.....along with the person trying to correct their spelling......and the one telling the difference between a shamrock and a 4 leaf clover....

Isn't that why they make different backgrounds? You don't like one don't do it..Same with the knobs on tv..(oops, dating myself) I mean buttons on the remote..You don't like a show..change the damn thing, don't watch it..just MAYBE I do..This kind of stuff really gets my goat.. >:D

mr. editor? could u please remove the background that has the dragon getting ready to breathe fire on a town. i find this to be VERY offensive due to the fact that when these dragons destoryed towns with fire, poor innocent people died including children, burned to death or eaten by these horrid creatures. this saddens me greatly and am disgusted that you are condoning such violence and would make fun of these hard working people who are just trying to get by on their bread and water and then have their villiage picked clean with mosterous beasts!
please remove this at once!

the chick who wrote in to pogo seriously has a bit too much time on her hands. First off, it's a stinkin cartoon for crying out loud. Second, isn't that how many people who have never been to spain veiw spain? I mean sure, maybe they don't do the bull fights anymore, but they did at one point in time. Isn't that a big part of Spain's history? I may be wrong, but I'm just saying.......how else are you going to portray Spain so that those who've never been there and don't know much about it will recongnize that it is a Spanish background. And I don't have any facts on the subject........but I'm sure many matadors met their demise due to the horns of the bull.......so It's just as offensive to put the matador in the scene. Just my opinion.

I've been writing a letter to both The Editor & that Stuck up Miss something person on Pogo for the last few months and have yet to have it published. I've decided to step up my game in April to copying and pasting the letter every day until they respond. I'm hoping you guys and gals get a kick out of it and no I won't give a preview of the letter!

No, they have to be real. I mean, I play with these people on a daily basis. I won't get kicked off Pogo for using autos, I'll get kicked off for egging on these azzhole (hey, it's a sport.. And I'm good at it) Honestly, I think they go in to rooms until they find a chatty room, then they listen in, all sour pussed, just WAITING for someone to say SOMETHING that will pizz them off. Then, if no one says anything, they leave until they find someone, somewhere, to thoroughly make them angry, then the sour puss turns red, the fingers type furiously and indignantly at the horror of being pizzed off, they get madder and madder and redder and redder and steam starts shooting out of their ears and fire coming from their mouths, they yell and scream and they grow larger and redder and type faster and threaten to report you because they cannot believe you actually said the word hernia, and then they get so mad, their heads pop RIGHT OFF their shoulders.
At least that's how I picture it....
