lol I kinda thought the same thing when I saw that pic. Was kinda sad that they wouldn't release any more info than they did...but I respect his privacy
He is in critical condition right now. I hope he will be okay. He will be 45 years old on the 14th.

Pretty heartless to mock his weight at a time like this. I hope you all are in peak physical condition your whole lives and never gain weight after being so heartless.
A solid baseball player and champion nearly dies & your only comment is "man did he get fat." Unreal.
all that extra weight i know how to contribute to it.
:'( :'( I loved Kirby Puckett......yes he was out of shape after his exodus from baseball but jeez guys! I heard they had to do surgery immediately and that he is in critical condition! Good luck Kirby...my thoughts are with you man!
Good baseballplayer though i do think he got into the hall of fame to easy hope hes doing fine.
Kirby always had a bit of a big body. Even in his playing days.
kirby has passed away at the age of 44 :'( rip kirby
sad,sad news he just died :'( one of the greats
Very sad news. Prayers to his family.

may he rest in peace
I just read it too. I remember growing up, I didn't watch baseball and didn't know anyone except for Dodgers players but I've heard of a select few names and Kirby was one of them. Thought he was a great guy wish I had a chance to see him play once. May he rest in peace.
he will be missed :( His 45th birthday is 8 days away too.
I am so sorry he pasted away, my prayers will be with his family and friends.

Another great article outlining his accomplishments and also mentions his wish to be an organ donor.
45 is really young how sad
Actually he is 44, he would be 45 on March 14.
EDIT: you are right, he was 45. They claimed he was born 1961 but he was really born 1960.
he will be missed by many.
:'( :'( This is a big loss for the baseball community...he would have made an excellent coach! I will miss him! Kirby rest in peace :'( :'(
May he rest in peace. My prayers do go out to his family. I think it's safe to say that he single-handedly put the Twins on the map, especially after the '87 World Series.
yeah thats crazy puckett died... i grew up watchin him play... makes me feel like a old man!!! :o
