Title: Fruit smoothies

MY arithris is flaring and I need to take off weight. I have found low fat fruit smoothies are a great help Anybody have any good tips or recipes   Thanks

<b>Berry Fruitie Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 small banana, cut up and frozen
1/4 cup raspberries
1 cup orange juice
1/3 cup nonfat, sugar free vanilla yogurt

recipe directions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into two glasses to serve.


<b>Berry Good Peach Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
1 cup fresh peaches, sliced, partially frozen
1/2 cup raspberries, partially frozen
1 1/2 cups ice chips 

recipe directions:
Pour ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. 


<b>Banana Berry Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 banana
1 1/2 cup nonfat Dannon Vanilla Yogurt
3/4 cup frozen peaches
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon orange juice concentrate

recipe directions:
Place all ingredients in blender, add ice to fill blender and blend until smooth. 


<b>Lemon Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
1 1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 T. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. lemon zest

recipe directions:
Combine all in blender until smooth.


<b>Main Squeeze Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 1/2 cups ripe strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 cup raspberries
1 banana, peeled and sliced
1 cup orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed)

recipe directions:
Place all ingredients in blender and process until smooth.



<b>Orange Flip Freeze</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 6-oz. can undiluted frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup water
1 cup nonfat milk
1 tsp. vanilla
10 ice cubes

recipe directions:
Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Pour into glasses to serve.


<b>Paradise Freeze</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 ripe banana
1 cup strawberries
1 mango
1 cup cranberry juice
1 cup ice cubes

recipe directions:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Blend until thick and smooth. 



<b>Tropical Five Fruit Blast Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

1 large banana, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
2 kiwi fruit, peeled and quartered
1/2 cup peeled and diced mango
1/2 cup peeled and diced papaya
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
3 ice cubes

recipe directions:
Combine all ingredients in blender and whip until smooth. 



<b>Pineapple Delight Smoothie</b>

recipe ingredients:

2 cups nonfat milk
2 bananas, frozen and chunked
6 slices canned pineapple
1 tablespoon honey

recipe directions:
In a blender combine milk, frozen bananas, pineapple and honey. Blend until smooth.

Makes 4 cups, or 2 large servings.

Okay maybe its just me .. but toss some rum into any one of those and oh my Yummm

To help with your arthritis, add fresh or frozen Bing cherries (pitted of course) to any of the recipes.  I'd say at least one cup.  Those have great anti-inflammatory properties.

Here are some cherry ones if you want to try them. I also found a few others you might be interested in.


<b>Cherry Smoothie</b>

1 very ripe banana
1 cup frozen unsweetened tart cherries
1 cup skim milk

Put banana, frozen cherries, and milk in a blender; puree until smooth. Serve immediately.


<b>Cherry Vanilla Smoothie</b>

1 cup nonfat milk
2 cups unsweetened frozen cherries
2 cups frozen raspberries
2 cups frozen nonfat vanilla yogurt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into 4 glasses and serve.


<b>Banana Split Smoothie</b>

1 cup fat free vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 banana, cut into chuncks
1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained
2 tbsp. strawberry jam
1/4 tsp. coconut extract
ice (as needed for thickness)

Place all ingredients into a blender; whirl until smooth, stirring as needed.


<b>Orange Smoothie</b>

6 oz. orange juice concentrate-frozen
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
10 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.


<b>Pine Orange Banana Smoothie</b>

1 banana
6 ounces, light, fat free peach yogurt, frozen
6 ounces Dole Pine Orange Banana juice


Mix all together and pour into a chilled glass. If drink is too thick, add orange juice.


<b>Really Red Smoothie</b>

1 cup low fat strawberry yogurt or frozen yogurt
1/2 cup cranberry juice cocktail
1-1/2 cup strawberries, hulled, frozen
1 cup raspberries, frozen


Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


<b>Tropical Banana Blast Smoothie</b>

2 ripe bananas, peeled, quartered, and frozen
1 8-oz can crushed pineapple
2 cups milk (your choice of variety)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries


Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Serves 2.
