Title: Tri-peaks for Verizon mobile phone.
Post by: daveandjenn2002 on April 07, 2006, 05:15:27 PM
I just wanted to share this story and see if anyone else has had this problem.

I've had this version of Tri-peaks since September and just last weekend, it stopped working and gave me a message saying "memory access" and the phone would reset after 5 seconds.  I finally called Verizon technical support and after getting the run-around, I got ahold of someone in the Get It Now tech support.  She told me that even though I have the Unlimited version, unlimited actually on means it's good for 30 days and that I should buy the monthly subscription for $2.99.  I asked her when they changed the meaning of Unlimited to only good for 30 days.  She said it's just company policy and said she'd look it up in the company manual.  Of course, she couldn't find it anywhere where it stated that the "unlimited" version is only good for 30 days, but she said that it was probably the case and that's why my game quit working after 6 months (!!?)  >:( >:(

I redownloaded the game and was given credit, but we'll see how long it lasts and I also emailed Verizon to see if their definition of Unlimited is different from the rest of the English speaking population.

To make a long story short, has anyone else had this kind of problem?

Yes I had that problem with my phone but that was well after 3 months. I deleted my version of Tri-Peaks and downloaded a new one. I think called Verizon and said I was playing my game and it had went wacky and I was forced to redownload the exact same game. I was given credit for having to download it twice.

I guess in the business world, unlimited means 30 days!! I think if I ever get those games I'll read the fine print first!!  :)) :)) :))

Yeah Helen.  Somehow the business world uses a totally different language than the rest of us.  As I told the lady on the phone though, if Verizon is committing fraud by saying unlimited, but then changing it to 30 days, I will get rid of Verizon and move on to someone else.  Anyone have any luck with Cingular?

That's not true. Whoever told you that doesn't know what they are talking about. I bought the unlimited access when it first came out. I think it was like $5.99 and I've been using it without any problems ever since.

In my experience with Verizon employees they are clueless when you ask a question about pogo mobile games.

Thanks Homer.  That's what I thought when I originally downloaded and had this problem once before, but never got this story about unlimited meaning 30 days.  Personally, I think the lady was just trying to sell me a monthly subscription so that after a couple months, they'd get more money out of it, instead of getting the money up front.  When someone is that misleading, it sounds like fraud to me.

The monthly subscription is the $2.99 you mentioned in your previous post. I always pay for the unlimited access. Just in case they add more ranks. Besides it would take some really dedicated playing to get all the badges in 30 days. I don't need them that badly if you know what I mean. ;)

Yes, dedicated for Tri-Peaks. Still playing and getting nowhere fast. On the plus side, WordLife should have his final Word Whomp Mobile badge tomorrow (sorry it's taking so long... just been really busy)

Hmmm, now I must decide if I want to work on that badge now. I got 50% towards the final badge in 30 mins... do I want to spend another 30 quick mins or wait until my free nights and weekends kick in?

I'm already past Homer but I'm helping Word Life get his Word Whomp Mobile badges. Doesn't take long, I've just been really busy. You can actually get all those badges in one day if you had free time.
