Title: Thunderpopper Help
Post by: whateva74 on April 08, 2006, 05:33:47 AM
Does anyone else have trouble with thunderpopper II?  I keep getting out of sync errors and then can't recover errors.  I've uninstalled, redownloaded and everything and nothing is working.  Anyone have any tips to resolve this?

Thanks

To help you, we are going to need a little info...
1.) Operating system (Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP etc)?
2.) Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, Mozilla, Opera etc)?
3.) Color setting (24 bit, 32 bit etc)?
     4.) Screen resolution (800x600, 1024x768)?
5.) Smooth edges of screen fonts checked or unchecked?
6.) What Java you are using?
7.) What agent are you using?
8.) What version number is this agent?
9.) What specifically is the problem?

(and an agent is the cheat program....)

1. Windows XP
2. Mozilla Firefox (though I've tried with IE 6.0 too)
3. 32 bit
4. 1024 x 768
5. checked (standard)
6. Sun Java
7. Thunderpopper II
8. V 2.9
9. Constantly having "out of sync" errors and then "can't recover" errors.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled and still having same problems.  Never completes a puzzle.

Thanks!

Quoted from badgehelp.com:
"If your ThunderPopper is not working correctly here are some tips:
• Make sure the game window is fully loaded before running ThunderPopper.
• Try running at "1024 x 768" pixels and 32 bit color.
• Turn the screen saver off.
• Leave the computer alone and let it play!"

I also use firefox and normally have to have my smooth fonts unchecked...also, like blu said, try to slow it down and see if that helps...
Good Luck!

I put it on the slowest speed possible and didn't work.  I will try unchecking smooth fonts.  Thanks.

In the past Thunder popper worked almost too good.  After I reformated and had to download it again, it doesn't win every game like before.  The computer specs are the same.  I was wondering if the auto was a update?
I ran it for a short while yesterday and it never once got all the balloons.  I had it set to run on max speed.  I tried slowing it down also.  It almost always leaves 3-5 balloons.  Maybe that is good, I can now walk away and not worry about being on the high score list  :)) :))

Yeah really... I want my poppit auto to not finish the whole board. That way I would feel better leaving it running when I'm not around on my evil name.

Thunderpopper 2.9
I downloaded it from BH a couple of days ago.  I ran it awhile today and it won some games by clearing the board, but mostly it left several balloons.
In my thinking this is good.  It may take a little longer to move in rank, but my name is not on the high score list.  I am amost to rank 42.  It has been a long drug out affair getting to that rank.  I only stayed in a room for a few games because of the high score list.  Now I am going to find a full room and let r rip!   :D

The super pop display balloon that ambles its way across the play board causes most of my Out of Sync errors.  Check it out next time you are using the Auto.

If you leave it alone it will continue to play. It has to wait for the balloons to realign themselves before continuing to play.
