I am not asking to start a religious debate I am asking any who believe in prayer to pray for my brother...
He is a painter and was on the second floor of a house today spraying a ceiling...there was a hole in the floor that was unmarked and no one told him it was there....as he was watching the ceiling and spraying it he fell thru the hole in the floor down to the floor below....his left leg which was already traumatised years ago and now missing the knee cap took the total impact of the fall breaking the ankle and causing the bone leading from the ankle to the knee to smash into the femur bone leading from the knee to the hip ....this resulted in the femur bone cracking length-wise (up n down NOT across) the break according to the ex-rays is almost half an inch wide and almost all the way up the femur....he was in agony and the paramedics had to give him morphine right there at the scene.....after they took xrays at the hospital the nurses who see a lot of trauma couldn't believe it themselves and ordered him to have the max amount of pain killers aloud....they wanted to fly him another hospital where they are more equip to deal with this sort of break but he freaked at the thought of a copter flight and they took him then by ambulance....hes not in pain but they are getting him ready for surgery first thing in the morning and we are pretty sure according to the doctors they WILL be able to save the leg....but how and if he will walk are another story....they have already told him he will NOT work again......please please I am asking for anyone who prays to say a prayer for my brother.....he and his girlfriend just had a baby boy on Easter Sunday...Ethan is 3 days old and my brother is freaking wondering how hes going to provide for his son....no worries there his girlfriend already called their attorney...I am NOT asking anyone for donations as it is NOT necessary...just prayers please....thanks for your time in reading this post
I'm so sorry this happened to your brother and seeing that I do believe in prayer, I will add him to my prayer list. Please keep us updated and let us know how the surgery goes. <3
sorry to hear about that.i hope all works out best as possible <3
Thanks Helen I will....they are going to the site tomorrow morning to take pictures of the hole....I can't believe there was nothing no signs,no tape, no railing to let him know it was there....unforgiveable to say the least....I am trying real hard to stay calm and not get angry but it is hard...I am going down Friday because he will be mostly groogy tomorrow....my work was really great about finding coverage for me....I just pray he can walk on that leg....it was really messed up years ago and badly scarred from another acident where he lost the kneecap totally....I am guessing even if he can walk on it again it will not be without a lot of pain
i am new to the forum but you can bet your brother and family will have our prayers

I am sitting here taking a few minutes to read all you guys wonderful comments and it brings tears to my eyes how caring and great you all are.....I know God is at work here and things happen for a reason(this is my belief I understand fully some have other beliefs) ...My brother has been going thru some major life changes lately and I myself prayed last night that he find the message God is sending him thru this situation....I talked to Jim this morning he was a bit groggy and he understands they CAN save his leg but it will be about 3 months til he is walking (as much as he will be able to) again...he will have to live with pain he knows that but he is so thankful hes NOT going to lose the leg....I even got him laughing telling him he will be setting off all the metal detectors from here on out...lol....his girlfriend is ok she had a good cry last night but shes a strong gal and is going to be fine.....shes got ALL the right wheels in motion already....the only thing that I am trying NOT to get mad about is the fact that the company Jim worked for didn't even call her to ask if theres anything she needs...they know she just had the baby Easter Sunday and plus she has a 3 year old too....shes dealing with a lot...so I am praying too for her to have strenght for it all...shes getting help from a lot of great folks....but still the company should of called her ...unbelieveable...ok I have calls to make just wanted to thank you wonderful wonderful folks for the prayers they mean the MOST to us!!!
(https://img130.imageshack.us/img130/9724/flowersforyou26tw.th.jpg) (https://img130.imageshack.us/my.php?image=flowersforyou26tw.jpg)My prayers are with you KsArt....
my prayers are with you and your brother and your familys..
Thanks so much...I am getting ready for work soon...need it tonight to get my mind off this....I am also going around the house finding Jim some books to read mostly humorous stuff...good ol calvin n hobbes...lol....hes the type of guy who never sat still so hes gonna need some distractions....I am thinking some puzzle books too ...I visited a few sites when I googled 'broken femur recovery' and found tons of amazing recovery stories so I might print out a few for him to read for support...most of them say the same thing tho....long long time to recover....I don't want to upset him but I guess he has to know this isn't gonna be quick or easy....okies thanks again folks...your the best!
omg im so sorry. It seems like companies would be mor careful and have things like that surrounded by something so that you cant fall in.....my thoughts are with you in your families time of need....
OK guys had my shower and just got off phone with Jims girlfriend...seems the head lady of the company called Jim's cell phone this morning and said to him "Where are you?"....he told her i am in the hospital where else would i be after a fall like that....unreal...she said she'd call him later and that was it!!!!!
So anyway a good friend of his went to the job site this morning got tons of pictures and told Jim a bunch of people from the company he works for were there looking all around....ok so they are covering there butts i can understand that but the phone call has me fuming....no are you ok, whats the extent of injury, can we do anything for you....nothing like that....even if they are scarred knowing it was negligence shouldn't they at least have the HEART to ask if hes going to be ok?
get this...his OLD boss and wife were there this morning when his girlfriend got there.....the OLD boss is more concerned about the guy than his current employer....i am taking deep breaths and trying to remain calm....ill know more tomorrow night after we get back...

It's just so wrong that they didn't even ask how he's doing. It's also very nice that his old boss is being supportive.
Prayers to you and your family!!

First off, sorry for your brother ksart...He'll pull through.
Second, 3 churches bree? lil much
never enough!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother Kelly. He will be in my prayers. I hope he'll be ok. Keep us posted.
Jim had his surgery this afternoon.....it took 5 hours...the ankle break was easy to fix the doctors told his girlfriend....the femur however took a lot of work plus the doc asked if Jim ever complains with a lot of pain in his leg before the accident .....and also wanted to know what he did for living...she said no he doesn't complain and he is a painter climbing ladders all day and such....the doctor said he was amazed by this because Jim has severe arthritis in his leg like that of a 90 year old man and ......he said Jim should be in tears from the pain of it everynight....she told the doctor hes the opposite ....never complains and never sits still is always doing some project around the house when not at work....well the doc said it will take a miracle for him to return to his type of work ever again.....also one of the guys Jim works with stopped by the house and said the company is now questioning all the other workers as to Jim's situation wanting to know how he is whats the damage things like that....funny they won't call him or his girlfriend and ask???
anyways I am going down to see him tomorrow night....I hope I can cheer him up....oh also he's not responding well to any of the pain meds now....they are trying a lot of different things and not much is working.....I think they are going to keep him mildly sedated for a bit and then try again ....I feel so bad for him I know he must be in agony...nothing worse than someone you love being in pain and there's nothing you can do to stop it....
thanks again for all the support and prayers
I know you can't wait to get there and see him. I'm glad the surgery went well. Now he will have a long road of therapy ahead of him and he will still need all of our prayers so I will continue to pray for him. Stay strong!!
Keep us posted if there are any new developments.
I can't wait to hear what his company has to say about all of this. I can't believe that they haven't called him or the g/f.
will keep you and your family in prayers happy to hear he made it threw the surgery :(
Thanks mama and Helen I will definately let you know more as I find it out...
I'm happy to hear the surgery went well, you and your family will stay im my prayers.

glad surgery went well, with all the prayers you know gods with him keep the faith, no such thing as too many prayers my prayers are with him and your family god bless you all
Great news Jim called this morning....since the surgery he is not having as much pain...so amen to that...he sounded very alert and in good spirits.....also the doctor told his girlfriend....there must of been a lot of people praying for him cause the surgery went very well...a lot of work but the doctor is confident he will heal well....BUT he doesn't think he will be able to work...not in the construction field anymore....but Jim is no dumbie...he has been tested and is above average intelligence so I think he might be able to do something else....I found him another lawyer who is supposed to be the best in THIS area and hopefully things work out there for him and the family also....of course he is worrying now about how hes gonna pay his bills but Brielle is filling out workmans comp. paperwork already....I know they will be fine....she was laughing with me this morning saying ...hey we have always been poor so we know how to get by....its not like we were millionaires and now all the money is gone....those are the types of people who jump out of windows when things go bad....not us we will make it fine....and I know they will...
My concern right now is for Jim to hear the message GOD is and has been trying to send to him....I fear IF he doesn't things like this will keep happening...so this is what I am going to be talking to him about tonight....see I am the type of person who can see the little subtle signs but Jim needs a brick to drop on him...lol
I am going to call my pastor today and see if we can find some bible verses for Jim to think about...something that pertains to his situation....My hubby got me a new study bible for Easter and I think I am going to put it to some good use today....lol
Thanks everyone again you are just the best!!

The purpose of this post was Kelly asking for our support. We like to think of PC.net as a big family. Like a family sometimes a "family member" leans on us for a little support.
Kelly, I am glad your brother is doing better. O0
Here's a big (((((HUG))) For you and your brother..I'd give you one in person if I could!! God speed your brothers recovery..
Hi Kelley
I wish your brother a speedy recovery
And also take care of yourself
Kelley, thanks for the constant updates!! I'm so glad that he's doing well.
I'm still really curious to see how his company handles all this. They better do right by him.
Take care and God bless. ;)

I hope they have workman's compensation insurance. ;)
Hey everyone we are finally back....Jim is doing just great....he's not in as much pain now but he is still on the morphine.....but at least it is working now.He was out of bed...I couldn't believe that but they had him in a chair washing himself...fantastic....his leg of course is completely wrapped from hip to toes with 2 drain tubes...we took him so much stuff he shouldn't be bored for the next week.....that is how much longer the doctors say he will be there if everything goes ok.....he will have therapy at home they will come to him...that's sooo good.....and yes he has workmans comp. his lawyer is making sure that is in process....so now he's just recovering....he did say every time he goes to sleep he keeps dreaming about the fall....it just keeps replaying over n over....it all happened so fast he said he still had the spray gun in his hand when he landed...we had him laughing with some jokes and he's finally eating...I took him a big bag of candy which he says he won't eat but guarenteed in a week it will be gone...I know my brother...lmbo
weirdiest thing.... me and mom and hubby went down to the cafateria and my pastors wife comes up to me....we are all like what are you doing here...she says the pastor is passing kidney stones....so she and I stick around having a great chat ...and when we walk out and there's pastor being wheeled in for xrays....it was really great ....he's gonna wheel chair himself up to Jims room sometime tomorrow to see him....I was very pleased at how it all worked out....lol
anyway Homer thank you so much and I respect your judgement in what you had to do with the posts....your the best!!
Thanks everyone for all the great support!!
Your welcome Kelly. I hope his recovery goes well. ;)
I'm glad to hear that he's doing good and that the surgery went well. I hope he continues to improve. I will keep praying for him and his family. Thanks for keeping us posted on how he's doing.
Kelly, I'm happy to hear that your brother is in good spirits and on his road to recovery. Of course, I'll still keep praying for him. It's amazing now how quick they get you out of bed after surgery. Hubby had his kidney removed and didn't get back to his room after surgery until 8PM and by 7AM the next morning, they had released him. It totally surprised me.
Glad to hear that the worker's comp claims have been filed already.
Again, keep us posted with any new updates.
wow! thank God that your brother is alive!! I will add him to my prayer circle.
Thank you Kelly for giving us the progress of your brother. I will keep your brother and your family in my prayers and I am glad things are looking better for your brother. If you need anything just PM me and I will be there to help you out. God Speed for a Quick Recovery for your brother. :)
Thanks for the updates. Wishing nothing but the best for your brother and his entire family.
WOW hes doing great for what he's gone through.. That is great news.. Give him a hug/kiss from all of here. I will still keep him in my prayers..
Hey everyone I am so overwhelmed with ALL you folks...I appreciate each and everyone of you!!
I am thankful that Jim will not have to leave his home once he gets there...PT will be coming right to his house...I was worried about driving him every other day and risking re-injury to his leg...I am praying for his girlfriend now to be strong while Jim is away and until he's better....shes got a lot to handle with a new born and a 3 year old...the 3 year old is quite a handful at times...trust me he would be a challenge even for Supernanny....lol.
To help lighten the mood... you could mention that now would be the perfect time to apply to either SuperNannie or Extreme Makeover Home Edition!
Kelly, it's really going to help that he can have the PT done at home. That alone will take the burden off his recovery. I'm sure it will all work out in time. It will be rough on the g/f with the kids and all but she'll work it out. She sounds like a great gal.
Prayers for all of you!! Continue to keep us posted. ;)

Helen she is so great very strong willed ...so is Jim and I know they will need every ounce of it to get thru this...plus they have little ol me too...lol....and I tell them all the time of the great people here and everywhere praying for them both!!
Little Riley (the 3y/o) is just being 3 I guess but I think he will start to understand when daddy comes home he has a boo-boo...as matter of fact Riley himself about 2 months ago jumped off something and gave himslef a hairline fracture in his foot somewhere but after crawling around for just a week he was up walking like nothing ever happened...amazing how fast they heal at that age...I just couldn't believe it!
Kelly, it's been a while since we've heard from you about your brother. Anything new to tell us? Hope all is going well for him and his family.
Hope you're hanging in there too!!! ;)
he is still in the hospital...he developed a clot but they are keeping an eye on it and giving him meds to desolve it...he should be home Tuesday....sorry I have not posted I have been covering a lot of hours at work....one person got fired and another was out sick for like 4 or 5 days...i forget i am such a zombie right now....thanks for asking Helen your such a sweety!!
Sorry that you're having to work so many hours. It has to be very hard on you while your brother is in the hospital. I hope all goes well, they dissolve the clot and he gets to come home as planned. You take care and keep us posted. I'll keep praying for you and your family. <3
everything looks good for him to return home tomorrow Helen...also his workmans comp came thru so hes not worrying about the bills...which is a big relief off my mind too...they will be just fine the baby is just so awesome...I am going to try and figure out how to get the pic of him off my camera phone and post it for y'all to see him later tonight....I just got back from shopping....finally had a day off...my manager wants me to join curves with her but I feel like I just got a work out doing the shopping..lmbo
thanks for askin Helen :)
Kelly, I'm glad your brother is doing good. I'm sure he's anxious to go home. I know it must be such a relief for you and your family to not have to worry about the bills. I hope you had a fun day shopping. You needed it. I will continue to pray for him and his family. Please keep us posted.

You're welcome Kelly. I'm so glad that things are falling into place for him. Having the worker's comp come through is a huge burden off his mind. I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of the baby.
Shopping can be a huge workout, lol. I really don't mind the shopping, it's bringing them in the house and putting them away that I don't like.
I'll still keep all of you in my prayers.
Hi everyone whos concerned....Jim is home FINALLY...what a time getting him in the house but we managed....He's got a big boot on his leg....lol he calls it his "Frankenstein-boot" which is too funny....oh man the staples run all the way up his leg....unreal...yuk....anywho he gets them out monday...I ran to the Pharm for him hes on pain meds something else too I forget and also a blood thinner for the clots....the best thing about yesterday was baby sitting while his girlfriend went to get him....the baby is just sooo precious I WANT TO STEAL HIM!!
I told Bri I am just fallin in love with this precious precious infant...hes so awesome I was watching all his faces he was making...the smiling and giggling in his sleep is just the best thing...its so sweet it makes you want to cry....anyway I had to finally put him down and go home...lol
I told hubby I want a baby and he said "NO"...lol then he said "go back up in 6 months and see if you still want one then we will talk about it"
hes prolly right...lol
I hope all is good with Jim. Take care.
ok I HAVE to tell this little story of changing the baby yesterday too too funny...I hope it doesn't get deleted I have to say "poop"
the baby pooped so I open the diaper and hes still goin a little so I decide to just hold his legs and let him keep goin in the diaper....bad idea.....he goes some more and it sprays too much and gets all over his blankie....oh man ......ok hes still goin no biggie just need new blankie now.....OH NO hes peeing now all over his clothes pee spraying everywhere!!!...I'm like Oh crap I SUCK AT THIS!!!
the last time I changed a diaper was a while ago my baby is going on 21....so now i clean it all up hes finally done.....little kid is messin with me i just know it!!
well i had to get him all new clothes AND new blankie hes wigglin all around it took forever to get him dressed...but I was laughin the whole time thinkin....this kid did this on purpose and hes laughin at me I just know it!!
his mom laughed at me when i told her what happened but it was still an awesome experience and hes a wonderful baby....he didnt cry for me one time...but I know he was thinkin..."Hey mom I messed with aunt Kelly bigtime ha ha ha....she terrible at changing my diapers"!!!
Glad to know your brother is recovering and all is well with the family. I will continue to pray for his recovery. I agree with you about the baby. My grandson did the peeing thing only he caught me on the side of my face. I told him not nice . And it never happened again. I also told my husband I wanted a baby and he glared at me. I think he thought 52 (almost 53) year old woman was too old to raising babies. Not to mention he is almost 60. I just have to love everybody babies. My daughter says every time we go somewhere she turns around and I am holding a baby. I just adore children of all ages anyway. Best Wishes to your brother and his family
Glad to hear things are getting better for your brother...Sounds like he has a really good support system, and sometimes, that makes all the difference!
thanks spirit and foxx...yes I support him a lot even tho he makes me crazy....and yes I am always doin the baby thing too spirit...my hubby says hes too old too and we are at the point in our lives where we can finally do things as a couple with no kids and he enjoys that...he doesnt know it but i could be surrounded by kids and I would be happy as a pig in slop....but i guess it is my time to just enjoy them and give them back to there moms....lol

Kelly, I'm so glad to hear that Jim made it home ok. Now he'll be on the road to recovery.
Babies tend to have that effect on us!!! I bet he's adorable.
QUICK UPDATE: Jim is back in the hospital hes having surgery on his knee...he got an infection and now it is so bad they are taking muscle from his good leg and putting in his knee...he has a hugh gapping hole in his knee where they had to remove alot of damaged infected tissue...BUT luckily his circulation is very good and they are NOT goin to remove the metal that was placed on the femur....he will be sent home with IV antibiotics tho but a nurse will be coming regularly to keep an eye on everything.
His ankle is completely healed but the femur is not healing much at all ...very slow I guess it is his age that has to do with that and the infection.
On the up side his liver shows NO damage from his hepatitis....he had been diagnosed with hep c 15 years ago and the doctor says some peoples body just fight it off...now he did take milk thistle for years...it is a natural remedy for hep c (Pamela Anderson takes this ...just a little celeb gossip there quickly...lol) he had read this years ago and decided to try it...well it must of helped him....this doctor wants him to see a specialist for the hep after his leg is all done....the surgeon doin his op is one of the best in the world....he has done surgery on fetus' still in the womb....amazing!!
Anyway Jim's spirits are great and we just got back from visiting him...lol...he was watchin the race and just chilling ...I think hes going to be fine but the doctors didn't lie to him there is a chance the metal might still have to come out IF the infection doesn't get under control...another plus is he will not lose the leg no matter what because his circulation is very very good and thats the main thing...IF the metal comes out of the leg they will fit him with an outside contraption for the femur....big pain in the butt but if that is what he has to do then so be it...ok I guess thats it thanks everyone for all your prayers and concern
Sorry to hear bout your brother. I had just the opposite problem? The steal rod they put inside my femur did OK. It was the knee where I had all my problems at. and still today there is a place that has not healed up like it should. I will be praying for your brother

did u fall too?
my brother fell thru a floor....glad your femur healed ok...ty 4 prayers!!!
I wish I could lie to you and tell you that I did fall. It would be a lot easier than saying that I was putting a trailer hitch on my car when I broke my leg. :OO What makes it so bad, it was just a bolt on trailer hitch, drill four holes and bolt it on. and that is all you will get out of me. I guess it would have been funny as h@ll to watch :)) In a way I guess it was a fall. However, you do NOT put one of them on when you are drunk. Anyways, your brother will stay in my prayers. Hope he gets better really fast 0:
He had his surgery this morning but I am still waiting on word from his girlfriend on how it all went....last she called she said NO ONE knew where he was....lol...I am sure he was either still in surgery or in recovery...cause I know he didn't get up n walk out...lmbo....I'll let you all know when I hear something.
