The best football player ever to play in the NFL. O0 and he plays for next years superbowl champs. Last season they were screwed by the refs. O0
We're still not finished with NBA or NHL playoffs, barely into the MLB season and you're already picking next year's superbowl champs? If you have some good inside tips, please pass along so I can call a bookie!!!

Since we're predicting who will win what in the future, here's my predictions: Kansas City Royals win World Series in 2056, Arizona Cardinals win Super Bowl in 2017, Charlotte Bobcats win NBA Championship in 2022 & San Jose Sharks wins Stanley Cup in 2073. How do I know? Because they're having a great April 22nd, 2006.... that's how!

I wouldn't say he's mediocre. I think he's pretty decent. Now with the Madden curse hanging over his head though...... :)) :)) :))
anytime he played a good run defense he was rather eh.great backs find a way around that but never seemed to much :-X
I guess it would all go by as what you consider a "great back". Every year but 1, (2002) his rushing yardage has gone up. He must be doing something right. I don't like how much he fumbles compared to, let's say, Jerome Bettis.
Personally, I hope the Madden curse doesn't get him. I'd love to see him rush for 2000+ and join a very elite group. And no, I'm not a Seahawks fan, I just love the sport and enjoy a good game.
Another ;:: fight :)) :))

Mediocre at best?????? WTF U BEEN SMOKIN CRACK??? HE"S ONE OF THE BEST RUNNINGBACKS EVER TO PLAY IN THE NFL AND HE HAS THE STATES TO PROVE IT ANYTEAM IN THE NFL WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HIM BUT HE WANTED TO STAY WITH THE SEAHAWKS AND TRY TO HELP THEM WIN A RING
Calm down Jim, it was just his opinion. Not everyone has to like the same players. I'm not a Seahawk fan by any means but if you read my post above, you'd have seen that I pointed out some of his good stats. To each his own.
one good year makes him one of the best ever? and since when do really great players chokeeeeeeeeeeee in big games? ::)

I could answer that question but then I'd have a lot of different fans mad at me so let's just say that great players have bad games and they don't choke!!! :)) :)) :))

his stats were GOOD yes. not great so hes by far not one of the greatest. and if you read my other post...anytime he played a great defense he was shut down quick aka the super bowl :)
lol he went on saying how he would do good and help seattle win...then he choked :x
i get my tips from egm..but ty homer :)
the "greatest" players of all time have had entire defenses focus on them and yet they had big games. alexander never managed that

There pretty much the same type of site. I've been using gamefaqs for a long time. ;)
you ever get tips from random sites? if you know any good ones pass them along :)
one of the best who gets shut down by every good defense? yes he can be one of the greatest who choke in big games >:D
now take an emmitt smith or a pre injury terrell davis who always rose up in big games.that makes a player great..not padding stats against sub par teams then when a big game comes up youre nowhere to be found.
yet you have him as one of the greatest? yeah....rushing for 200+ yards against a team that won like four games all year. sounds hall of fame bound to me ;)

I use gamefaqs for 99% of my needs. They generally have what I'm looking for. O0
Here's food for thought. Alexander is not one of the greatest of all time yet. He is certainly one of the top 2 running backs in the league right now.
Below is the NFL All Time Leading Rushers
Here are Alexander's stats after 6 seasons
If he stays healthy I believe he will go down as one of the best ever. ;)
The pics are too small so I'll put the links below.

Guess u never have watched much football hades O0 Because if u have u would 100% agree shawn one of the best ;:"
Your right by saying one of the best, but one of the best right now not all times. I grew up watching Tony Dorsett and he was one of the best of his times, but he doesn't even make it in the top ten all times.

RB's have short life spans in the NFL these days. I would estimate the average life expectancy of RB's is 4-5 years.
Quote from: jim1975 on April 23, 2006, 02:23:21 PM
I still don"t recall shawn ever choking. yes if a team puts everyone on shawn of course they will shut him down lol I think anyone would be
Come on. I mean, yes, he is definitely good. But if you think the Seahawks are gonna win the Super Bowl this year because he came back...Yeah, not so much.
I think most of the credit for Shaun's success should be attributed to having one of the best fullbacks ever to play the game blocking for him...

Hi Helen
i still say a great player is someone who rises up in big games. alexander has yet to do that yet.

Another thought-provoking post!
Regardless, this topic was about a video game that's not even out yet. I thought for sure there was an NFL topic somewhere else on the forum!
In fact, there is one located @ "<a href="http://www.pogocheats.net/forum/index.php/topic,22141.0.html">Pro Football</a>" which can also be accessed @ http://www.pogocheats.net/forum/index.php/topic,22141.0.html

Hi Helen
Hi Bree, thanks with the help on the avatar earlier.
So, what's your opinion on Shaun Alexander? Does he have the makings of being a great RB? :))
Yes I think he does Helen. I have to go with you on this one and I was glad to help you out with your siggy.
Confused why would they put the losing teams rb on there?? Ben should be on the front cover what a joke.
Shawn who? he wouldnt even be in my top 10 for rb's in the league.

And there is something wrong with building a winning team?
In "his' world", spending money is bad. In the real world, spending money in an attempt to build a winning franchise is a smart thing. I would like to live in his' world.
Are you sure you want to live in "his world"?
Well, in his' world I don't have to spend money because it's wrong, my favorite team will NEVER lose to anything, I can pencil in my backup team to win it all based on one great month (if they get rid of a player or two) and if someone makes a sarcastic remark, they're automatically anti-my least fav team... not a bad place to live if you ask me.
Can't be all that bad....you said in another post you'd like to live in his world.....lmao :)) J/K
