Title: Alphabet soup

Alphabet Soup  

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes  
Ready In: 40 Minutes
Yields: 12 servings

"A quick and easy vegetable soup made with ground round and spicy vegetable juice cocktail. Great to serve if there is a spelling test the next day!!!!!!!!!"

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound ground round
3 cubes beef bouillon
3 cups hot water
1 (46 fluid ounce) bottle spicy vegetable juice cocktail
1 pound frozen mixed  vegetables, thawed
8 ounces uncooked alphabet pasta
6 cups water
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place the meat in a large stock pot, and cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain the meat, except for about 2 tablespoons of the juices.

2. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in 3 cups of hot water, and add to the stock pot with the meat. Stir in spicy vegetable juice cocktail, mixed vegetables, alphabet pasta, and 6 cups of water. Simmer 20 minutes, or until pasta is tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve.

Where was this recipe during the winter??? lol Thanks, I will be sure to add this to my recipe list for the next cold spell we get. I would eat soup even during warm weather but the hubby won't.  :P

I love soup and that sounds yummy :P but I can't find uncooked alphabet pasta anywhere >:( lol

if you ask your local store manager, i am sure they could tell you where to get it. i order mine online.

Campbells soup makes a alphabet soup.. Wouldn't that be alot quicker?   :))

Yeppers  I've had  Chicken Noodle alot of times. I even use Cream Of Mushroom and Cream Of Chicken alot when I try to cook.

As far as alphabet, yeah  when I was a kid. I liked to spell words in my spoon. Then suck it up. 

Too bad you never tried that it was really fun.   O0

this soup was something that i have made my kids for years, lol. quite honestly, i dont think my mother ever considered buying alphabet soup, lol. i just happen to like this cuz i can add lots of stuff, control the sodium, and the grandbabies think it is cool, lol. perhaps i will pick some up from the market tonight..........

Nothing like Escrole soup with home made,
   little meat balls and,  Alphabet  macroni  or Ozo macroni
    very healthy for you
      BETTER than wedding soup  :)
       IMO
