3 days ago I turned chat off in Pogo. And I have found playing to much more pleasant. I never realized how irritating I found it to catch it moving out of the corner of my eye. It was always someone chatting about their son married to a slut, daughter married to a bum, who had the most medical issues and who is taking the most meds, etc. I really enjoy Pogo now.

Yup, I do the same thing. If I'm not TDing, playing in a tourney, or hagnging out with a few pogobuddies, then that chat is OFF!
My chats off - except during weekly challenges if Im playing in an uncensored room so I can laugh @ the Springer rejects.

Same here...if I am just playing (which is rare), I don't turn it off...because if I did, I wouldn't know if a friend had come into the room.

I never turn it off, it would kinda defeat the purpose being in an uncensored room. ;)

I think it should be accordin to your mood... if u wanna deal with the crazyazzes... talk... but be careful... dont get into big discussions... or arguments... or any conversation in a large room where some lil kid can say mom, she said this... or that........
I chat my azz off when the mood hits me...but thats at a table of 5... usually poker... and most times.. its me and 4 men.. or 3 men.... 2 women.....

i rarely engage in the conversations, the odd 'gg' 'wtg' 'gln1'. even then its not all the time, but i do love going into rooms (ex.uncensored) and just read what people are fighting over. its craziness sometimes.
chat is OFF~!!! when my kids are on, its the rule and they're ok with that.
I was in a room the other day and so many people were making remarks about someone because they have in their profile "chat is off 100% of the time" .

yea i see that alot..
ill only talk in a chat if i know someone in there.. or if there is already an interesting conversation going, otherwise i just stay quiet..
there are some nights when i will purposely find rooms were ppl are talking just so i can talk lol

Chat is ususally on for me. Only times I have ever turn'd it off is if sum1 is playing under my account or sum1 is in the room sumtimes, but that's hardly ever. Nothing to hide anyway if sumone enter'd my room at home. Most rooms are very quiet, alot of the censer'd rooms are as well. There is a few rooms I know that are always upbeat and the topic of chat is usually anything with these hoochie momma's who think they are all that and it's there room every1 else is nooobies. Alot just like the attention from guys and just enjoy thinking they are loved. Oh an can't forget the pic ho'in LOL ;D
Anywho I just get amused by watching it all but doesn't seem to distract me in my game. If I feel to chat then that's all good. Most times I'm on the phone while I am playing anywho.

It bothers me that there are so many of these profile watchers. It seems lately that all people are doing is reading other peoples profiles, and get all in knots if there chat is shut off, or they have alot of badges, or god knows what else bothers them about someone. The only time I care to look at someones profile is when i see a badge i like, and want info on which game it is so i can work on it at some point. Other times I check a profile out is when i suspect it could be a room monitor, or just some busy body in the room. If I feel un-safe in a room , I leave and find another one to play in.
The funniest thing about the busy body profile watchers is that they actually pay to play supposedly on pogo but spend there time reading other members profiles, and try to rat on people or cause problems.
I think their just a sorry bunch of losers that are miserable and try to make others around them miserable, even if it means to innocent strangers online.
And even though I dont shut off my chat I rarely talk in any rooms unless I'm in a tour, and even there I don't chat much.
People are reporting people for all sorts of crap. I've seen a TD be banned from pogo for 72 hours because the name of the game being played was called "sex on the beach". Go figure, next thing you know you'll sneeze and get banned. :( :o

If I am just wanting to play and do my badges or running an auto then I block my friends from seeing where I am then unblock later.
I also dont care if people read my profile or not, thats why its there to read. I look up some peoples too on there to see where they are from. Funny the other day though my friend came in room and we were chatting in poppit and someone asked us to go to a different room or private cause they couldnt see their score lol. First time that ever happened to me.
There is some good people on there yes and lots of strange but thats anywhere there is chat lol.

I haven't checked out a tournament website in quite a while but the last time I looked it seemed like there were tournaments for just about every regular pogo room. If your looking to avoid the tourneys I suggest the temporary rooms. O0

Next time that happens, suggest to them that maybe they could just mute. That's what I do. :/\
I leave my chat on, even when running an auto, because I do have friends who come in sometimes. I also occasionally monitor the chat for comments about the possibility of my using an auto. When that happens, I switch rooms. Generally, I stick to empty or nearly empty temp rooms. Another reason I don't like to turn chat off is because having it on allows me to see my weekly badge progress. If all rooms are packed, I'll mute EVERYONE in the room so my progress is not lost by being scrolled by the incessant idiotic chat. I am one of those people who have stated in my profile that I do NOT chat online. :-X
I chat sometimes when I am playing by hand, but normally it is just the gg, wtg kind of thing. I chat in tours but only to my other tour people, and we tend to not edit what we discuss to much. The only ones who have gotten reported for their discussions were TD's. I normally keep my chat on, it is good sometimes for a laugh.

I never really pay attention to chat. The only game I chat in is Texas Holdem. There are times where I have to turn it off, because People love to talk about all their problems, their husband, kids, grandmother, grandpa, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers. The neighbor across the river, mountains, etc, etc. lives. It gets on my nerves. I don't understand why they can't talk privately, that's why it's there!!

thats what i do but sometime i just play and pay no minds i have never had a rude TD toward me at all i dont talk in the rooms alot if a friend comes in we go to private talk but i do alot of temp room when getting my ranks but over night i do full room and let it play :o
Good Advice...........no I have never had a person in tourney rude to me either....its just hard then for me to chat in those rooms when they start. I don't get bothered by peoples chat......it is amusing at times.
I have nothing against them. So yes will just switch to temp room next time..Had never thought of that.......silly me.
