Title: Cribbage
Post by: gigi on September 05, 2006, 07:58:14 AM
Ok I hate hate hate this game.  I can get 500 fireflies............. I won't like it, but I can do it......... I cannot do cribbage.  However, I just did a test game and played the 4 player option and my bot won for me.  Too good, huh?  So, if you don't have a friend to play with, maybe for once a bot can be your friend.

Also, I know someone thought of this before me, but just incase I want to add that if you sit on separate teams one of you is bound to win.... I guess that would happen in a 2-player game also, but I have yet to find a "buddy" who knows how to manipulate the cards in my favor LOL

I use netscape or firefox using sun Java and internet explorer using Microsoft virtual  machine.
You can log into one and use a friends account or one that you created for the other. You will be running both from your PC. So you can see both accounts at the same time and controll the game 100%.

I was doing a search on the forum and could not find a good explanation. Way to much to search through. Someone might come along and help us out and post a link.(please) 0:

Gigi,  When I double browse, I use Internet Explorer with Microsoft Virtual Machine (java) and Firefox with Sun Java. (Firefox automatically uses Sun Java) On Internet Explorer, you need to go above the address bar to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced.  Scroll down and make sure that Sun Java is unchecked and the first and third box are checked for Microsoft Virtual Machine.  You will then need to reboot your computer.  You then need two separate screen names to do this.  If you only have one account, set up another one and send it a guest pass.

If you do not have Microsoft Virtual Machine "MSVM", I believe you can find a link for it on the main page of the forum.  There is also a link for Firefox there.  If you have lots of memory you may be able to double browse by opening two Internet Explorer windows with just Sun Java installed on your computer.  I think you need at least 523 GB of memory.

Hope this helps you, I had trouble the first time I tried it too.  Good luck

Hope it works for you.  If you have anymore trouble give a holler.  If you have a pop up blocker on firefox, it will tell you that somewhere, then you click on it and allow popups from the pogo website.  You have to look carefully to see where it tells you that.

If you are going to double browse in Cribbage, you can play the four seat version.  Right before the game ends change seats if you are not winning.

Good luck

Whoops forgot, if you are double browsing to change seats, I always chose a trump that I don't have and "go it alone".  You get way behind this way before you change seats.

Whoops again, that one is for Euchre.  So sorry.

You do not have to send the "2nd Account" a guest pass for you can go to a Regular Cribbage room and your free account can access that room too.

I tried to play Chess with a non-member account as a second player once and it did not count toward my badge.  So I am not sure if that will work or not.

i got mine the one the 1st day. i have 2 computers in the house, since cribbage is not a pogo pay game i set them up and i played with my son, of course i let him play on my account (that way he thinks he can kick my butt) only took a little over an hour to do, but i had fun with it.

Ok..I was reading this thread and everyone was talking about double browsing (which I do often) I use IE and Firefox...but I don't change Javas and stuff.. My IE is set to use Sunjava and Firefox only uses Sunjava automatically.  Why do you guys change javas in IE?  I don't have to do that.

There is only one browser I know of that utilizes one java for DB'ing. You can get it at:

When I got my new computer with a zillion gb's of memory, I was able to double browse with IE Sun (with two IE's open).  After I downloaded msvm was not able to do it on IE anymore, but could then do two on Firefox with Sun. I was able to open one on IE and two on Firefox at the same time.  When I tried for four, then I lost them all.  Was really hoping that would work for those rated badges.
