Title: Issues - Updated MadJong Auto
Post by: Fitzkarin on April 06, 2007, 10:47:00 AM
Is anyone else having problems with the updated version of MadJong?

It begins running well ... however, about 15 minutes into running, MadJong begins to end games after matching up to 14 tiles.

After that it starts a new game and then "sits" with both time areas covered.  The game timer showed 99:99 when I returned to the PC.  The matching tiles were plainly visible and available if you close the auto out and click on them manually.

I was able to recreate this issue 4 times. Although successfully recreating an error while attempting to attain a new badge isn't how I was hoping to spend the evening.  ;)

My settings are all correct and I even turned off the smooth fonts for grins and giggles before posting here.

I am using version 3.5 and it's behaving very strangely.

Amongst the things you mention Fitz, mine will draw a tile and then put it back. Repeat. Repeat again. It will then say it can't complete and then reset and start a new puzzle.

It may make 10 matches and then just sit. The average wait is 4 seconds. I've timed it. Then it will make one match and sit again.

If it wasn't for the auto sitting and not doing anything it would finish a puzzle in well under 2 minutes and I would get a 50 token bonus; I am playing on easy level.

Mine will also say there are no more matches when it would be clear to a blind man that there is. It's like it's  not recognizing tiles half the time...and yes, I am using the traditional tile set, not one of the new ones.

Anyone else having these same issues?

Yep, you're right, it is...and that means that the automatic udater isn't working. I clicked that very button this morning and it said my 3.5 was up to date. Go figure!

So I have the 3.6 now and it is still lagging!! I remember when I first got this auto it could finish games in as little as a minute and a half!

Maybe it's the new tile sets that is causing the delay in play?

You know, it seems that way with me. I am after one particular badge so I decided to let it run all night....two nights in a row now it's jammed itself up and when I get up in the morning the timer is there at 9959 and when I check my progress it's only moved a couple of years.  >:((

I asked homer for help on this very issue, (under help homer please). i also submitted a tsr report.

Homer did try it and found it to be working ok, and most people say theirs is ok, so i guess we must be the unlucky ones.

But mine is acting the same as described here by all,

You might want to tell which control panel you're talking about.  I'm not sure everyone here understands where you're indicating they should go to attempt your fix.  Also, which version of Internet Explorer are you using?  The various versions use JAVA in different ways.  So that is important too.

Thanks for your help!

It is in your Internet Options.

You can access it in your Control Panel or in your browser by going to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced Tab
