Post by: Homer on May 24, 2004, 06:23:30 PM
Well I finished reading The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Fabulous book. :) I was sad when i finished it. :'( I wanted more. This was the second Brown book I read. Also read Angels & Demons by the same author. Another fascinating read. Time to go to amazon.com for another book by him. ;)

I guess you could say it is fiction based on religion, art and history.

Don't want to giove away to much of the story. Some controversial material. ;)

Here's a brief description from amazon:

With The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown masterfully concocts an intelligent and lucid thriller that marries the gusto of an international murder mystery with a collection of fascinating esoteria culled from 2,000 years of Western history.

I had read that he left out parts of the book due to the controversial nature of it. He left out the part that says Jesus survived the crucifixion etc. You might want to read Holy Blood Holy Grail. It touches on the concept of Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene and surviving the crucifixion etc.

Here's a description from amazon about Holy Blood Holy Grail

Inside Flap Copy
Is the traditional, accepted view of the life of Christ in some way incomplete?

? Is it possible Christ did not die on the cross?
? Is it possible Jesus was married, a father, and that his bloodline still exists?
? Is it possible that parchments found in the South of France a century ago reveal one of the best-kept secrets of Christendom?
? Is it possible that these parchments contain the very heart of the mystery of the Holy Grail?
