Title: Mozilla firefox and pogocheats...
Post by: stacynjoshf on May 12, 2007, 07:12:49 AM
:OO  Can we not use the pogo cheats with Mozilla Firefox browser?   :oo  The only browser I can get to work with pogo IS Mozilla...Any info would help me.
I use to use IE and AOL browsers, but a couple days ago pogo kept giving me a "Page not found, could not load images error message. I have been round and round with EA support, and did EVERYTHING under the sun to fix it. updated java, cleared caches, disabled all pop up blockers, anti-virus, and firewall programs...You name it, I did it.
Anyhow, any help would be greatly appreciated!

The recommended browser is IE. I have used Firefox in the past but not lately.

General Tips From Homer

If you are experiencing trouble with your auto try the following things.

1. Try using it in the Firefox browser (I know it sounds weird but I find if my auto is hiccupping sometimes just switching to this browser does the trick)

Hi Homer,
Your general recommendations state to use Mozilla Firefox per your post on April 13th. So this isn't true anymore? ::)

That was from over a year ago. Since then BH has recommended IE as it's browser of choice.

I haven't used Firefox in a long time. Is the auto not running or is it you can't get pogo to load properly?

Sorry Homer, I didn't note the year you wrote that...

Um, well, both. I can't get pogo to load correctly in AOL or IE browsers, and I can't get pogo cheats to work with Mozilla Firefox.
I have IE6 and AOL 9.0 browsers. I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox 2.1 and it's the only browser that works with pogo games.

Try clearing your prefetch files.

Go to Start>Run

In the Run window type prefetch and hit enter

This will open your prefetch folder. Right click anywhere in the folder and choose select all. Then delete all the files in there. Reboot your pc and try going back to pogo and try it in both browsers.

OK I have my prefetch file open, but I see files that I use...What is the prefetch file?
Will this delete these files off the computer...
Sorry, don't wanna sound stupid, :o but I don't need anymore problems with using certain programs.

Prefetch is basically shortcuts to files you use the most. It helps things display on your pc faster. The next time you access something it will take a bit longer to display because it will be writing a new entry into prefetch and then after that it will run normally. It's similar to your Temporary Internet Files.

I delete my prefetch about once a month and never had a problem.

Thank you Homer for that tip. I cleared the Prefetch files out, and pogo now works in my AOL browser!!!
THANK YOU!
Have you ever thought of working for EA games support?
I guess that would be a conflict of interests LOL!!!

One thing though, I still can't get the pogocheat "RACKEMUP" to work with high stakes pool cutthroat..
any suggestions?
THANKS AGAIN!!! :;' ;::

Yeah, that happens to some people. This is from the BH website:

***03/21/07*** UPDATE We are aware there is a challenge for high stakes pool. RackemUp MAY OR MAY NOT work for you. PLEASE TRY THIS PROGRAM BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! If it says "Idle, can't find game window" DO NOT BUY IT!
