Title: Shell station customers 'pay by touch'
Post by: Mayhem on November 05, 2007, 12:08:37 PM
NEW YORK - Chicago drivers have a new way to pay for gasoline: with their fingertips.

Ten Shell gas stations in the Windy City are testing biometric systems that let consumers walk up to the pump, scan their fingertips on a device and fill up their vehicles. The systems, also installed at Shell convenience stores, are directly linked to customers' checking or credit-card accounts for payment.

One day people ( I doubt I will be alive ) will have chips in their fingers or wrists or somewhere to do all money transactions. Probably even have your SSN tattooed on you.  Does tattooed have one or two o's  tattooed or tattoed.

They are already working on it with the RealID Act.  Remember several months ago I posted a lot of information about it.  The DHS is in charge of distribution of the Card, and one of their considerations is microchipping people to reduce the risks of lost or stolen cards.  The plan is to first pass a law allowing the chips to be implanted in felons to keep track of them... an internal GPS device.  Then once that's been tested and people are used to the idea, it will be approached as an option for the general public.  Don't take my word for it... do a search and read, read, read.
