Bonus Check was working just fine then I did a virus scan and it showed as a Malware virus. I uninstalled the program. rebooted my computer and when I try to reinstall I get this ms:
"Setup2100.Exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I am running XP Pro.
Any suggestions?
BH programs do not contain viruses. Your program is misreading it.
Delete the program reboot your pc and redownload from www.badgehelp.com
Yes.I not only deleted the program with Windows uninstaller but I also used the cleanser supplied here.
Do I need to shut off my Anti Virus? Bonus Check worked very well before I got the virus alert.
The Virus aleret ms is
"The on-access scanning engine reported a 'W32/NewMalware-LSU-based!Maximus' infection in the file 'C:\DOCUME~1\USER\LOCALS~1\TEMP\WZSEO.TMP\BONUSCHECK.EXE'
The file has been prevented from being accessed on this computer:
please repair or delete it as soon as possible.
What virus scanner are you using?
Your getting what is called a "false positive".
It is supplied by my IP Cox Cable. It is fully supported by COX.
It is called " COX High Speed Internet Security Suite.
It has performed very well up until now (if it is the security program).
Yeah, ISP is good for internet and that's about it.
Try doing a online virus scan from : housecall.antivirus.com
They update their virus definations everyday.
Well, the problem is that I cannot install the Bonus Check program at all. I really do not want to shut down my anti-virus to run the installation but it looks like that's what has to happen. I guess I will call Cox customer support and see what they say.
I would get in contact with your isp since its there security bundle thats screwing you

If you are having trouble using the Trend Micro online scanner you might want to call their support number or you can try their Internet Security Suite package free for 30 days. I suggest you do the 30 day trial and at the end of the trial you can decide if it's not for you. There is no obligation to purchase it.
Here is the link to the program for the 30 day trial.

BTW, I personally use this program and recommend it. I have mine scheduled to do a weekly scan every Friday at noon and never has it identified BH software as being malware.
thank you.
will try this and see what happens...
Your welcome. Once you have the trial installed do a complete scan of your pc. This will take approximately one hour depending on how much is on your pc. If you have any questions let me know and I'll try to help.

I use Trend Micro as well and like Homer, recommend it highly. You can get it at Best Buy (look for a sale) and you can install it on up to 3 computers for one price.
It's way better than that clunky, pain-in-the-arse Norton. :o0

Not to mention Norton is a big time resource hog. ::)
I couldn't wait to get rid of it Homer. It would take upwards of 5 minutes just to turn on and boot my computer.
I got wind of Trend Micro and uninstalled Norton without a second thought and I still had about 9 months left of my subscription.
I honestly believe that the only people that support and push Norton are from Symantec or have been given commission to sell that piece of garbage.
I have yet to see any legitimate computer geek actually recommend it.

Someone recommended Trend Micro to me about 5-6 years ago and I have so much faith in them I bought a 3 year subscription this past year. I'm good until 2009 now.
