Title: Autos stopped working
Post by: PogoKaz on February 01, 2008, 06:04:26 PM
Wonder if anyone can help before I have to go cap in hand and ask badge help to reset my 150 page again

A few weeks ago I had to reformat my hard drive and install a new graphics card due to a graphics failure and badge help reset my page for me.

Today for no reason that I can see, none of my autos will open up.  I re-installed one of them and I have to re-register the program.  So rather than incur badge help's wrath I rolled the computer back a few days to make sure non of the windows updates (one being SP3) was affecting them.

I still have the same problem, the auto's wont open up and downloading them again requires me to re-register them.  So now I have no choice but to ask badge help to reset the page again.  The concern is that I may end up having to buy a new computer or at least a new motherboard which will mean asking for yet another reset.

So can anyone shed any light on why the auto's wont open up and if not how do I grovel enough to badge help for another reset in a matter of weeks and the possibility of one in the next couple of months.

Hi there,
A couple weeks ago I had a problem where the autos wouldn't open, and when I tried to update or redownload, they would give me an error message.  Turns out that somehow, during some maintenace thing, my Badge Help folder got set to "Read only".  When I changed it back to archive or whatever that is, it worked great again.  I know your situation isn't exactly the same but I'm wondering if it's possible it could be something as simple as a setting somewhere.
Good luck!

If you formatted your hard you always have to redownload the programs. To get your page reset email replacecode@aol.com also explain to them that you may need to buy a new pc in a few months and see what the say

I've just tried your suggestion and checked all the settings and they still don't work but it was worth a try so thankyou :)

Homer I did the reformat a few weeks ago and had the page reset then, I just don't know why they have all decided to stop working again, but as you suggest I will explain the situation to badge help and hopefully they will understand and help.

Think I may have got to the bottom of the problem, my virus checker has just picked up something called autoloaderpogo.dll

I've done a full search on my computer and theres about half a dozen entries in hidden system folders.  I've turned off system restore and cleared them out and pogo and the one auto I have registered still works.

I'm thinking that from the date it was installed that it may have something to do the the pogo scam email I recieved and clicked on (there was a warning on here about it).

Doesnt help me with the autos that no longer are registered, they need to be downloaded and registered again, but it may be worth people doing a system check themselves as something activated it last week.

Probably a coincidence and the files are something to do with pogo, I still think its SP3 for XP and when its on general release others may have similar problems but this is a heads up anyway.
