Let me guess: Norton? That program is as useless as a dead fish.  canadian2.gif

Regardless, it is a false alarm; a false alert. You should be able to bypass the notification or you may have to turn off your security suite when using this auto.

I am getting the same, and I have not got norton or any other fire wall.
So an answer to this problem would be a great help.

Your AV programs are causing false positives. There is nothing BH can do about that.

This same happened to me late last night with AVG.   I did what BH suggested but still get a winzip file pop up and nothing works, I did click  'heal' but all disappeared. so going to wait til my guru gets home.  I had instead of my backspin icon a (don't know what call it) a white square, not a folder looking deal, last night and that's how I knew there was trouble right here in River City!

BTW, Homer, what is a good and reliable AV program?

My OB gave me a false positive once.  Turned out it wasn't a false positive at all.  BH had nothing to do with that, though.   :)))

My daughter has TM and she can't play any of the Deluxe games and connect to the internet unless she closes her TM all together, which we all know isn't ideal.  Any ideas on how to set it so it will allow her to connect?  She has no trouble playing regular Pogo.

I use AVG and don't have any problems. Not sure if this is what happen to my "Backspin" or not, but it's gone. So, do I have to redownload it and send receipt for another pw?

Candy,
I don't know if you've already tried this or not, if so just disregard.
Awhile back I was having some problems with my computer.  I did some stuff to try and fix it and then all of a sudden none of my autos were working and I got different error messages.  I deleted them and redownloaded them and still got error messages.  Turned out that I had somehow changed the Badge Help folder to Read Only.  When I changed that back, or unchecked Read Only, everything started working again.  You might give that a try.

Hi Candy, there is a lot of info on the net about this error message and its something to do with windows installer and the fact you need the update (either you havent got it with normal windows updates or its been corrupted).

Here's the link to the microsoft windows website were you will find the up to date version -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803
(This is a link for XP and previous systems, if you need a vista one just search the microsoft windows site.  I believe it was updated with SP1 but you will be able to get the direct download individually)

Ok, I'm not sure what I did, but I had to do a "Recovery" on my pc. Now, I lost all my receipts from where I paid for my autos. Now, since I did a "Recovery" I redownloaded my "backspin" and it's telling me that "My trail period has ended". Help, cause I paid for this back in December and have no proof. How can I get another password for this and my other autos that I have purchased.

Most credit card companies will allow you to access your statements, even older ones, online.  If yours doesn't, call them and ask them for the past statements and maybe they would be able to just give you the needed transaction code.

this is what I did to get rid of that nasty popup-

Turn Off resident shield in AVG, and you will find it will work again.  This came from a post on page 1 of this thread.

You're welcome.  My bank allows statements up to a year I think.... One thing I did was I went through PayPal records and copied  all the transaction codes into one document so I would have it handy.

I don't know how many you have all tolled, but when you have some free time you might want to do that also.

After having to reformat my laptop the first time I went out and bought an external drive for this very reason.

It is also time to back-up again...thanks for the reminder Homer!  canadian2.gif

Kids, this is a good thing to do even if you don't use the auto programs; the headaches of losing all of your files are monstrous compared to saving your files on an external drive. It is money well spent.

Burning your files to a cd or dvd is a cheaper alternative if you can't afford an external drive. I usually just create a folder in my email program and stash my receipts there.
