Let me guess: Norton? That program is as useless as a dead fish. canadian2.gif
Regardless, it is a false alarm; a false alert. You should be able to bypass the notification or you may have to turn off your security suite when using this auto.
Yup. It's a false positive
Nope it f-secure from which my charter supplies it to all costomers

I am getting the same, and I have not got norton or any other fire wall.
So an answer to this problem would be a great help.
i have AVG and yesterday it told me backspin had a trojan and deleted it.. i haven
t used that auto in a while.. i tried to download again with avg off.. as soon as i clicked it back on i got same messege and it deleted the auto.. any ideas..thanks..
Your AV programs are causing false positives. There is nothing BH can do about that.
:" Turn Off resident shield in AVG, and you will find it will work again. pillowfight.gif

This same happened to me late last night with AVG. I did what BH suggested but still get a winzip file pop up and nothing works, I did click 'heal' but all disappeared. so going to wait til my guru gets home. I had instead of my backspin icon a (don't know what call it) a white square, not a folder looking deal, last night and that's how I knew there was trouble right here in River City!
BTW, Homer, what is a good and reliable AV program?

My OB gave me a false positive once. Turned out it wasn't a false positive at all. BH had nothing to do with that, though. :)))

Boy, I sure hope they had nothing to do with that one!! :)) :))
I did turn off the resident shield and puter didn't like that, sends such threatening words LOL But it works and that matters!
My daughter has TM and she can't play any of the Deluxe games and connect to the internet unless she closes her TM all together, which we all know isn't ideal. Any ideas on how to set it so it will allow her to connect? She has no trouble playing regular Pogo.

I used to used to use avg as well but it started letting a lot of virii (hopes thats the correct word lol) through so I've changed to avast and that is free as well
I use AVG and don't have any problems. Not sure if this is what happen to my "Backspin" or not, but it's gone. So, do I have to redownload it and send receipt for another pw?

Well I redownloaded the "Backspin" and after I got it downloaded to WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box popped up with error message"Error 0 running command . \Setup2040.Exe Backspin" What did I do wrong? Help, please.
Download it again. If it's not registered you will need a new password

Candy,
I don't know if you've already tried this or not, if so just disregard.
Awhile back I was having some problems with my computer. I did some stuff to try and fix it and then all of a sudden none of my autos were working and I got different error messages. I deleted them and redownloaded them and still got error messages. Turned out that I had somehow changed the Badge Help folder to Read Only. When I changed that back, or unchecked Read Only, everything started working again. You might give that a try.
Your not doing something right. Follow these instructions exactly.
Delete the program
Reboot your pc
Follow the instructions at http://www.badgehelp.com/download.html

Thanks, but I guess that's $10 gone. :( I will keep trying, but I've already tried 4 or more times. Maybe if I wait an try again tomorrow it may work.
I've downloaded it several times without problem. Your pc is preventing the download/installation from completing.
I downloaded it back in December '07 and purchased it on December 2, 2007.

Hi Candy, there is a lot of info on the net about this error message and its something to do with windows installer and the fact you need the update (either you havent got it with normal windows updates or its been corrupted).
Here's the link to the microsoft windows website were you will find the up to date version -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803
(This is a link for XP and previous systems, if you need a vista one just search the microsoft windows site. I believe it was updated with SP1 but you will be able to get the direct download individually)
Thanks Kaz, I will try this and see what happens.
Ok, I'm not sure what I did, but I had to do a "Recovery" on my pc. Now, I lost all my receipts from where I paid for my autos. Now, since I did a "Recovery" I redownloaded my "backspin" and it's telling me that "My trail period has ended". Help, cause I paid for this back in December and have no proof. How can I get another password for this and my other autos that I have purchased.

I don't have a PayPal. I used my Visa and/or MC.

Most credit card companies will allow you to access your statements, even older ones, online. If yours doesn't, call them and ask them for the past statements and maybe they would be able to just give you the needed transaction code.
Thanks Stinkerbell, Not sure if I will be able to access my bank card one or not, but will try.
this is what I did to get rid of that nasty popup-
Turn Off resident shield in AVG, and you will find it will work again. This came from a post on page 1 of this thread.

You're welcome. My bank allows statements up to a year I think.... One thing I did was I went through PayPal records and copied all the transaction codes into one document so I would have it handy.
I don't know how many you have all tolled, but when you have some free time you might want to do that also.
This is why you should back up your pc. If you had a backup you would still have your files.
this happen to me last year i wanted to do a system restore and ended up with system recovery what a mess i lost all my photos etc but as to agents i had to go one by one on my link and send for new code to recode oops replacement code and they reset my page so i could do them myself after i drove them nuts with so many just tell him what happen and they will replace your codes for you thank the sweet lord for bh and replacecode or i would have been lost hope this helps gl i should add i hace made back up cd`s of puter homer do i need to do anything else to have back up??

After having to reformat my laptop the first time I went out and bought an external drive for this very reason.
It is also time to back-up again...thanks for the reminder Homer! canadian2.gif
Kids, this is a good thing to do even if you don't use the auto programs; the headaches of losing all of your files are monstrous compared to saving your files on an external drive. It is money well spent.

Burning your files to a cd or dvd is a cheaper alternative if you can't afford an external drive. I usually just create a folder in my email program and stash my receipts there.
Ok, I have looked and searched for all my purchases of the autos. I have found where I purchased them. What do I do now, since I don't know which (from my cc statement's) purchase is for which auto? Thanks for your help.
