Pogo appears to have changed something in the new jigsaw game. If you are having problems submit your TSR to BH

0.6 finds the game now and starts to play.

After it gathers all the pieces and starts to play them it stops.

Sometimes after playing 3 pieces sometimes after playing 10 pieces.

It has not completed a single puzzle.

hmmm when is 0.8 coming?   0.7 does'nt complete puzzles.  They seem too play differently for each puzzle and i think thats the problem.

I'll say this new  update is the worst of them, it doesn't play at all  :OO
Title: Re: JigSawGPS 0.4
Post by: FreecellFanny on July 20, 2008, 08:38:35 AM
Mine plays but it plays stupidly.   :-[

It starts by gathering, then it scatters the pieces (most of the time), it then scans again as though it were picking up pieces (that are already gathered), but then it starts placing the pieces. It's horribly slow but by the time it decides to start using the clues there are usually only half a dozen or so pieces left to place at which point I finish by hand (to coin a phrase!).

Obviously not the way the auto should work but I am confident that the BH crew will have it right soon. Heck, no need to panic; it's a new game and there is lots of time to finish it.  :/\

Title: Re: JigSawGPS 0.4
Post by: zzcheatzz on July 20, 2008, 05:49:36 PM
v0.8 not good, just really the same as 0.7.  Plays but you always have to finish, auto will not finish a game, towards more end of puzzle long long pauses.  The sorting it leaves piles of puzles in a few places too.

v1.0 is much better.  Does not leave piles of puzzles anymore and finishes puzzle for me in 2 minutes.  Good job and TY.

I went threw 3 adventures on normal mode  using Version1.0 and it never hung up,tried hard mode and had to finnishby hand. I have Vista on my computer, it's definitely a step forward for BH, am sure they will continue to tweak it. good luck all :-*

Post by: Insatiable4NYPD on July 21, 2008, 08:30:11 AM
ok, is there a certain speed, setting or puzzle that I should be setting this on, cuz auto does not seem to be working right, it sorts all peices from one side to another then goes up and down not solving...?

1.0 does not work on IE with sun..
Title: Re: JigSawGPS 0.4
Post by: Insatiable4NYPD on July 21, 2008, 09:53:44 AM
ok, using laptop, windows XP home edition , IE, sun java, the auto 1.0 does this, first game playing on normal with default settings the first game runs smooth with last 3 pieces left auto uses hint...2nd game, auto will either stall out IE or gather all pieces and seperate them into 2 piles taking each piece and dragging them from top to bottom putting them in wrong places ex. (end piece in middle of board)

DOING THIS 3 OR 4 GAMES i NEED TO RESET AUTO AND SWITCH OVER FROM EASY, HARD BACK TO NORMAL ...ETC

anyone else having this issue?

I have made it all the way up to rank 14 now..i found that if i leave my mouse pointer on the start button of the auto it tends to keep running longer..dont know if that works for everyone but it seems to run better...i only have 299 points towards that 5000 pt badge..i might even attain that one after i rank out in poppit show..lol..

Title: Re: JigSawGPS 0.4
Post by: Mistyeyed on July 22, 2008, 11:18:42 AM
i just downloaded this and its doing the same as the 1.1 version..gets to the last few pieces then it uses all the hints up and ends the puzzle..then it starts the same puzzle all over again..i cant get the auto to play 1 puzzle all the way through.
Title: Re: JigSawGPS 0.4
Post by: Stinkerbell on July 22, 2008, 11:32:49 AM
1.2 is the first I downloaded.  What I see happening is that at some point in the game play, the puzzle "locks" itself into place on the board.  Once that happens, the auto doesn't adjust the location of the pieces it places to make them fit exactly where they should.  So, you end up with several sections of puzzle pieces containing 3 or 4 pieces that are sitting fractions of an inch from the correct spot,  and the auto uses the hints to put them into place, but runs out of hints before it can complete the puzzle.
Title: Re: JigSawGPS 0.4
Post by: arniebear on July 22, 2008, 12:03:47 PM
It managed to complete one puzzle on Hard but then the next puzzle it got to the last piece which was a corner piece and could not find placement.  I agree it uses a lot of hints and it cannot solve a puzzle in Unlocked mode, just keeps moving pieces around  :((

I was sitting here thinking about how I would describe what was happening when I used 1.2 and this is exactly it.

I ran it for 10 puzzles and it only completed one of them without using (and running out of) hints before I had to intervene and finish by hand.

1.3 seemed to do better at playing the pieces after the puzzle was locked into position, but it still didn't complete a single puzzle out of the 5 I played.  It used hints on fairly easy placements and then ran out before it could finish.

I am not sure how 1.3 does will try it again I think Pogo is trying to psych out BH, no wonder auto can't solve a puzzle if this happens.  Had to junk the puzzle because of this.

Your OS (operating system) is Vista, XP. etc.  It might help them figure it out.  I didn't try it on SeaMonkey because I figured they'd want us to do it on IE.  That's what I get for thinking.   :))

1.3 is a step back in my opinion,I have to babysit this version as it will stall quite a bit and drag a large portion of the completed puzzle off screen and then has trouble fitting the rest of the pieces.....I have to pause auto to complete by hand. 1.1 was the one for me as it would finish in 3 mins constantly.

Windows Vista,Firefox,3 gig ram,(2 gig free)AMD Athlon(tm) 62 x2 dual core processor 5200+  2.6GHz,32 bit OS....NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS.

1.5 is a little slow,if I crank her up to full, auto will go out of control not knowing what to do it will just flicker from magnet to screen time and again. Again I need to babysit this version. Cannot leave her unattended(yes I call the auto a "HER" doesn't everyone call it something?  %%) I play HARD all the time just so I can test the guts of the auto out.

Sorry BH,still needs work.

Cheers.

I love this latest version..I play hard in 4 minutes or less..I am happy with that keeps the bytchin whiners off my butt too and better than doing it by hand..No complaints here..Thanks for a great auto that works.. :^*

I am still having to finish them up too, it works for a few puzzles then starts making mistakes....like putting the puzzle pieces in the wrong place or leaving pieces on side of puzzle when using the magnet.  Some are claiming they can solve in 1 minute on hard, but I am lucky to get 4 minutes.  Must be computers of OS or something  :-\

I am giving up on this auto for now, maybe they will get a working version out in the future.  I have sent in a number of TSR on all the versions.  It still messes up, will do the puzzles up to a point but then misplaces pieces and I have to finish by hand.  Some people are having no problems, but I am not one of them  :((
