Title: The Twilight Saga
Post by: Stinkerbell on November 11, 2008, 06:18:11 PM
Here we go, fellow Twilight Saga fans and addicts! (OO)

This thread will be for all things Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn :^*

Rather than move all the other posts, which I think would be tons of work for our brave and fearless leaders, Homer and Mayhem,
we can just pick it up here.tumbsup.gif

xoxoxo Love ya!

You got that straight.... and I don't want to embarrass myself in front of strangers when I'm standing 2 inches from the movie screen, trying to pretend that it is NOT Bella in the bedroom scene.

When my family sees me with my headphones on at the computer they are like, "Mom found another new Twilight clip."   :))

Billboard Magazine has listed the Twilight soundtrack as the #1 top selling soundtrack this week, which apparently is huge since the movie isn't even out yet.  My favorites on the Soundtrack are Linkin Park's Leave Out All The Rest, Paramore's Decode, and Collective Soul's Tremble For My Beloved.  Rob Pattinson also did a great job on the guitar with Never Think.  Really there's only one track I don't care for at all.

USA Weekend Magazine, for the weekend of 11/14 has a special article and Twilight Poster inside.  You can check here for which paper in your area carries USA Weekend.  http://www.usaweekend.com/partners/partner_links/index.html (http://www.usaweekend.com/partners/partner_links/index.html)

over to the right side is a Rob interview from this morning on our local San Diego channel. Talking about how he was at the ComiCon when he realized how big Twilight was. And about learning to drive for the movie.

I recorded it just in case they did not post a link to the video and I was at the gym when it aired. I have to say he had the attention of all of the ladies in the gym............not to mention a couple of the guys!

GREAT interview, Disney Lady!  One of the more 'normal' interviews he has done.  In the beginning, he was so out there it was hard to watch.  He's finally settled into the fame thing and is doing a great job!

Not a stupid question at all!  Twilight is a book by Stephenie Meyer. The "saga" is all 4 books.  Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.  Most of us posting here are official "Twi-Hards" meaning that we eat, sleep and breathe Twilight.

  And welcome :)   (OO)

You're very welcome!  They've become incredibly popular.  It's the story of Bella, 17 year old human girl who falls in love with a 107 year old vampire (who looks 17 because that's the age he was when he was turned.)  Anyway, they struggle with trying to make the relationship work because even though Edward and his family do not hunt for human blood, the craving is still there.  The authors website gives a lot of information about the story.  www.stepheniemeyer.com (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com)

I hope you'll check it out  (OO)

So did ya get yourself anything? I haven't gotten any tees yet but I hinted to my family that I needed a Twilight shirt to wear to the movie since my bd is 2 days before ... :))

Looks like lots of fans are mad at Hot Topics cause of the way the tour thing has been going this week.  You'd think they'd have it better organized.    Kinda glad I'm not going to see Rob tomorrow in Philly now  6_6.gif

I did not but it was not because I didn't want them. My grandson will be 16 on Xmas day and I was trying to make his birthday gift be about him instead of about Xmas (or a drooling Nana). For his birthday we dined at his fav restaurant which has Monte Cristo Sandwiches and shopped Hot Topic and Gamestop - his fav stores. I figured this was less costly than a silver Volvo S60 R which would give him more attention than he could handle.

Rob is not what I pictured either, but after seeing his photo I went back and read the description of Edward and I had him pictured all wrong.  I pictured him looking like Emmitt.

And I just read an interview where Stephenie Meyer said that there was no one else but Rob who could truly be "Edward".  He is the perfect actor to play that role, but she also said that in real life, you would NOT want Rob for a boyfriend or your daughter's boyfriend.

My favorites are in this order, Twilight, then Eclipse, Breaking Dawn then New Moon.  I mean you have to read them in order they were written, but this is the order of my favorites.  Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much happens in Eclipse... it's crazy.  And you learn so much about other characters.  You'll like it.

Stinker thats the order I like the books too!  I just love em all but thats the order I love em in, lol.  Its because of my fave part in Eclipse that puts it at #2 & you know what that is!    And my reason New Moon is last is probably the same reason as yours!   :ll  But if Steph M ever finishes Midnight Sun, that will probably be my very best fave!   :)))

Agreed 100%  There's something about it that is just so compelling.  Edward is so tormented, so much more than Twilight depicts.  What woman doesn't want to comfort a tormented soul like Edward?   VV :)))   In Midnight Sun you also see how funny he can be... page 201 where he's questioning her sanity and thinking of getting her the best care available... I laughed sooooooooooooo hard!   :))

LOL I'm sitting here reading and wondering I don't remember this in the twilight ZONE! LOL  I am so out of it! Must come here more often and read the threads! :))

Oh is it a vampire story?  I love vampire stories!

It is a vampire story... and then some.  The author's site is www.stepheniemeyer.com (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com)
It's the story about a human girl and a vampire guy who are falling in love and trying to make the relationship work which is difficult since Edward (be still my heart) Cullen desperately wants to eat her.  He and his family consider themselves vegetarians in that they don't drink human blood, just animal blood.  But it is still a fight against his true nature which is to consume human blood.

No really, I read the first hundred pages and didn't want to put it down.  It is soooo good.  Thanks everyone for turning me on to this.  Now, I just have to find the other 3 books before I finish this one.

                                                                            ;::

When I first read Twilight, I'd gotten it from the library cause my 14 yr old granddaughter was reading the books & she thought I'd like it.  As soon as I finished it, I read it again til she brought New Moon over for me to read.  I was hooked bigtime on em, then finally just got my own set of the books so I wouldn't have to wait to read em all  :))  Whoever said these books were for teen girls don't know there a@@ from a hole in the ground!  :))

You should all know that Kristen Stewart was about 5 miles from my house this past Saturday signing Twilight T-shirts for folks.  The paper said she was mobbed.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing.  They've had to cancel some of Rob's appearances due to mobbings and unruly crowds (CindyLou was photographed there, pushing small children out of the way shouting "BITE ME EDWARD!  BITE ME!!" ).  He was in an Apple Store in NYC shopping for something and a 7 year old girl asked for his autograph.  Then she asked him to bite her.   :ooo    :)))

Twilight is the story of Edward Cullen, a vampire, and Bella Swan, a 17 year old human girl.  Edward was turned into a vampire when he was 17, but he's technically now 108 or something like that.  Anyway, they fall in love and struggle with how they can make the relationship work which isn't easy because he wants to drink Bella's blood.  The Cullen family isn't like your run of the mill vampire family because they consider themselves vegetarians because they try not to hunt humans, only animals, but the desire for human blood is still there.  It's a great story!

I just read about her, no wonder I have never heard of her she writes children's books, and definetely non-originals-but I will give it a try and read the books I can find--and then base my opinion on the author/story (ies).  BUT, noone is better than King, Koontz and Straub

Hmmm... she doesn't write childrens books at all.  Twilight is a YA series, but Twilight was her first book ever and has become massively popular.  Non-originals... not sure what you mean, because everything she writes is very original.

Not sure of the channel, but he was a vamp   she was a cop he wanted to bite her but wanted to love her, same as a show called midnight but of the same old crap.  But I am willing to give Meyer the benefit and read her stories before I actually say anything.

Yeah, I used to watch Moonlight... CBS canned that one.  Twilight was written in 2005, well before Moonlight, but I see your comparison.  Meyers vampires are not at all Dracula type vamps.  She took a very different approach.   I'm hoping the movie will come close to the book!

We originally started talking about this in the Book Worms thread and it took it over so we started this thread.  Koontz, King and others are discussed there on the Book Worms thread... I loved Odd Thomas.

Stinker gave an excellent description of Twilight.   tumbsup.gif   When Stephanie wrote the book, she'd wrote it cause of a dream she had & started writing it down for her own purposes. She had no thoughts of publishing it til her sister (i think it was her sister, lol ) had read what she'd written & talked her into getting it published.  And I for 1, along with millions of others (tweens, teens, young adults, & older adults like me! lol ) am certainly glad she did!!   :!!  Of course not every person is gonna like it but thats the way it goes, each person to their own,  :)))

In my opinion, S. King is in a class by himself & I don't think there'll ever be any1 to beat him.

Haven't had much time to read after work this week. I only have about 50 more pages left to Eclipse. I tried so hard to keep my eyes open last nite to finish but just could not do it. I can not wait to get home and finish and start the last book. And of course after that I will reread them all again. I know they will be better the second time around. So much to take in reading them so quick.

thankies girls, yeah it sure has been a rough year. Well the past 4 years have been nasty for poor ol' bams. Seems when u take a nasty hit, it' leads to other probs an then more come along an it's jus like a chain reaction.
it's like how can I walk to help my back if I'm suffering from heel spurs (both heels). Clearly dun make sense....I'm a tiny lady an u would think I'm fit as a fiddle but nah not the case.....jus frustrating. When u try so darn much.

Ah well I jus got back from my morning errands. Blood/urine work dun. Was done so early that I passed myself through emergency for my neck ...apprently it's not a lymph node infection...doc thinks it's a cyst infection that he gave antibiotics for an if it gets worst in a few I need to have them drain it or if it don't get better in a few days - same fate.

Speaking of Edward....haha. See I dun fancy him that same way u all do. Sure he's attactive in the book. But real life Rob - nah I have better. I like my sweetie more to be honest. Rob jus doesn't do it for me

Edwards character however is great, an he's not sooo bad in the movie. But yeah two nites ago I did dream of the whole twilight vampire thing but it was my own sweetie who was the Cullen Vampire..Kept me interested

Yeah, it's the book Edward that's got my attention.  Rob is a good Edward in the movie, but his real life.... nuh uh.  Even Steph said in an interview that while he is the perfect Edward, you wouldn't want Rob to date your daughter.  I kinda got that impression from watching his interviews and stuff.

I agree.  I think that some of the things he has said and done are just inexperience, immaturity and being overwhelmed with fame.  He's doing better though.

I was laughing about the ... what did he call it... window screen?  Something like that... and the button thing... I am going to watch that over and over... it was excellently funny!

OK ya'll....I just got back from seeing the movie & I loved it bigtime!   :D :D  5 of us went together & we all loved it!  After seeing Rob playing Edward the way he did, I couldn't imagine any1 else playing that role, he did a fantastic job on it & all of us agreed that went.  I plan to go see it again soon cause I can't wait til the dvd comes, lol.   There was all ages there too, not just teen girls & there was 4 auditoriums playing just Twilight.

My biggest complaint about it is that there was so much cut out from the book but that was expected.  But some parts of it was just amazing!  :!! :!!

We had a 10:05 am showing in one plex-theatre with showings every half hour so I went at 9:30 am hoping for just an hour wait. I got in to the 10:05 showing which was not crowded. It was everything we thought it would be and I just ate it up. I was surprised at the number of men that were in the crowd and the number that were alone! No spoilers but I suggest that you keep in mind that next week many hundreds of young girls are out of school for the Thanksgiving week. That is why I decided to go today. I will say that I was so excited to be seeing Twilight that I could not tell you one of the too-many previews except for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - which made me look for Rob Pattinson as Cedric.

Disney,

My kids saw it yesterday morning and then again last night with my husband.  They all really liked it.  A friend of mine who saw it said it was cheesy, but that she would still go see it 3 more times.   :)))

I'm very happy with the 'man on the street' reviews I've heard.  People really love it!  Of course there will be some who prefer the more traditional vamp story and may not enjoy this one.  I happen to love it because it IS a new take on the whole vampire legend and because Edward is toooo hot for words   ""

I was able to go see it tonight and I reallllly loved it.  In my humble opinion it wasn't as good as the book but I don't see how it could have been.  The book was 500+ pages of memorable moments that had to be crammed into a 2 hour movie.  The movie was visually stunning (and I'm not just speaking of Edward  ""  )  I was so impressed with how true to the book they stayed, how well Kristen and Rob played Bella and Edward and, again, the cinematography was amazing.  I WILL see it again and WILL buy the DVD.  I told my daughter that about half way through the movie I realized I hadn't stopped smiling :)

I'm sure Summit will allow a bigger budget for the next movie, will be even better.

This came from an MTV article (thanks MsLouWho)

Summit Confirms New Moon To Hit Big Screen

"The news comes on the heels of the vampire flick selling out theaters nationwide, despite its mixed reviews. The madness began with some impressive advance ticket sales, then the film added to its $7 million midnight-screening take with a staggering $35.7 million on Friday, taking in money at a rate reported to be more than three times that of last week's box-office winner, "Quantum of Solace." To put it in perspective, "Twilight" is now second only to "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" in terms of biggest opening-day gross for a non-summer release.

"Twilight" is currently on track to become the highest-grossing film ever made by a female director, the highest-grossing vampire film of all time, and is also threatening several other records heading into Saturday. The film is currently projected to make more than $60 million this weekend, which would put it on track for the $150 million box-office haul that director Catherine Hardwicke has said would automatically green-light sequels."

Hooray for all who saw the movie already. I am so glad you are going to go Monday Stinkerbell. I can not wait but looks like I will not be going until the weekend after thanksgiving.
I was fortunate enough to see the pics of the actors before I started reading the book. I know it must be hard to accept the actors after reading and picturing another face in your mind. So no problem there for me from page one Edward looked just like Edward and Bella looked like Bella :)))

You must be almost done with Breaking Dawn.... what did you think?

I'm tellin' ya... I LOVE Meyer's vampire world... and her imagination is amazing... things I NEVER saw coming.... I am planning to start reading them again probably this week.

I'm kinda sad though.... like how you have all this build up, anticipation for a big event and then when it's over, sometimes you feel kinda sad or empty.  That's how I feel.  I guess I have so few things that I look forward to, that now I'm sitting here going... now what?  How long til New Moon comes out?
Pathetic, isn't it?   :(  But I think you will love the Breaking Dawn ending... it's soooooooo..... perfect.

And congrats on the dream... it's our secret.  Cindy must have been off doing something else.   :)))

If I've lost the book, its my own fault for lending 1 of my fave books out!  I was really wanting to read it again after seeing the movie, no matter that I've already read it 3 x.   :!!  If it don't turn up this week, I'll have to get another 1.  I'm getting a bunch of books at the library tomorrow anyways, am anxious to read some more of that Stephanie Plum series, think I have 6 of those on hold for pickup  :)))

Been dying to talk about the movie but trying not to do any spoilers for those who have not seen it yet. I wish it had been longer as it was over before I breathed. I LOVE the scene with the tension between Edward and Bella in science class. I am not so old that I do not remember that kind of tension. I wonder how many takes it took to have Edward jolt out of his chair the very second the bell rang.

SPOILER ALERT!

Then post this way...

then post

END ALERT   :)))

Anyway....

I saw it again last night and loved it even more.  You're right, it's not long enough... there was so much left out of the movie that I wish had been there....
blood typing.... the parking lot prom invitations... LOL  I think that Rob and Kristin have a great online chemistry.. what a kiss   :-*

SPOILER ALERT
See, I was really impressed with the whole sun thing and here's why... I know from reading at Stephenie's site that in her vampire world, during the transformation into vampirism, the tissue cells become hardened like crystals... each teeny tiny cell like an individual crystal.  So I knew it wouldn't be like chunks of diamonds reflecting light... I knew it would be very subtle.  Also, I read Catherine Hardwicks interview where she was talking about trying to get it just right.  They went through, I think she said 5, special effect companies and what they were coming up with ranged from him glowing, to huge giant beams of rainbow prisms eminating from him.  They finally went to George Lucas' company and that's who they ended up going with... I think they captured perfectly.

And you're right, it went way too fast.... to get everything from the book into the movie would have had to add another hour at least, which would have been spectacularly fine with me  :)))

Now, did you know to go to www.stepheniemeyer.com (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com) and go to the Twilight tab... then go to Midnight Sun... oh heck, here's the link...

http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partialdraft3.pdf (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partialdraft3.pdf)

This is the first 264 pages of Midnight Sun, which is Twilight but from Edwards perspective.  It's soooooooooo good.  I actually think I like it better than Twilight in ways.    It was going to be a book all in it's own, but it's been put on hold because someone she trusted with the draft leaked it onto the internet.  She went ahead and posted it for all of us to read.  Well worth your time and will help get you through til you can read New Moon :)

You're welcome!  I hope you like it as much as I did.

Unfortunately, that update was in June, before it was leaked to the web.  Her Aug. update says it's on hold indefinitely.  I did see an interview with her and she has something she is thinking of doing... mermaids, but not mermaids, sirens.... that should be very interesting.
The Host, also by Steph Meyer is a great read.

I, like every other Twilight fan out there, am hoping & hoping that she will finish Midnight Sun eventually.  I think she will but will keep it secret & just surprise everyone when it is ready.  And if it does come out, I bet it will beat all her other books in sales etc. cause from what I've read of it, its doubly amazing!   I can just imaging reading the rest of MS then reading it upteen times after that,  :))) :!!

Since they're supposed to start filming New Moon in March, hopefully the movie will be out this time next year!!   I just hope they did a good job writing the script.  I'm thankful at least that they're not doing it like they did the original Star Wars movies, 1 movie out every 3 years....that drove me nuts waiting  :)))

Another book series to check out in the meantime is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, think there is 14 books but they are quick reads, not big books like the Twilight series.  I am really enjoying em & just started on #6 this morning.  "One for the Money" is the 1st book in the bunch, I thought it was really good but they are getting better & better the more I read!   <:> And that Morelli & Ranger  :pp VV :)))

I would have liked to have more time with Edward's sparkle in the meadow. I liked the effect and felt if it was much more, there would be some sort of mention of this in vampire lore. And we all<b> KNOW </b> Edward is real and is a real vampire.

I have grown up on the beach all my long years in So Cal and have seen plenty of driftwood but did not understand about the driftwood at the beaches in Twilight's Forks. Stinkerbell had this site on the bookworm thread that really shows the Northern Pacific look. Posting it in this thread for those who missed it:

I do not do things in a normal way and never have. I do not dream or I do not remember my dreams unless they are nightmares and thankfully those are rare. So I read all of the posts about Twilight dreams with great envy. I decided I would try to help myself have one by thinking of different parts of Forks before falling asleep. I remember the driftwood and the meadow and then..........

found myself in Pictureka Museum Mayhem frantically trying to make Edward fit "Things in a bedroom" or Things in the kitchen" instead of "scary things". Howling wolves and birthday presents, volvo's and pickup trucks all with a light blue background and the dang jingle to that game playing away. I really need to find other hobbies than Pogo and reading.

CindyLou  By the time I'm through with Edward in New Moon... there won't be enough left for the other 2 movies.   :)) :))

Bubble  I agree, in the first couple books she is annoyingly stupid... but when you think about it, I'm glad it all happens because it's important for her to have the experience of caring for someone else so she will be able to decide who she reallly wants.  An informed decision, I guess.

Disney  That's toooo funny....  After the movie, I was sooo sad... nothing to look forward to.  I had gone hunting the web everyday for tidbits pertaining to the movie and felt that letdown that comes after the buildup to a big event.  Now with New Moon in the works, I feel better.  But, like Bruce Dickenson would say "I need more Twilight, baby (cowbell)"

I do not know what Tyra was thinking tossing out the "Edward" and "Jacob" thongs. Poor Jacob is only 19 in real life and what the heck are you supposed to do when an older woman hands you underwear?

Twilight has made more money in its second week (coming in 2nd to 4 Christmases) than Nicole Kidman's new epic, Australia, which came in 4th.

I thought that was kinda awkward also.  Ellen gave Rob a pair of boxers that said Bite Me, but she always gives those and it she does it much classier.  I thought asking Rob to bite her was kinda cute... but I think in general Ellen was better.

Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob is only 16, he's the youngest cast member of Twilight.  Kristen was only 17 when they started filming Twilight (so she could only work so many hours a day) but she turned 18 during the filming.  If Taylor plays Jacob in New Moon, gonna probaby be difficult since he's in it a lot & can only work so many hours a day.

Rob's only 22 so most of the cast is all pretty young & have a lot to learn.  But Edward is 108 & looks pretty darn good for his age  :)))

the hardcover is 750+ pages.  Not sure of the exact count, but I am sure JarJar is correct.  If you order it from Barnes and Noble or Amazon, you'll get the full version.  Not sure why there would be such a page count difference.

I also read that they are considering having someone else take Taylor Lautner's Jacob role.... stating it's going to be too difficult to make his babyface fit the role.  His agent is checking with special effect people to show the studio what Lautner would look like digitally enhanced to look older and bulkier.  That's going to take $$$ from a budget already too small considering the amount of CGI required for certain transformations that take place in New Moon.  It will be interesting to see how all things develope.

The second movie based on the vampire series by Stephenie Meyer will hit theaters on November 20, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Perhaps they're superstitious, but that's almost exactly a year to the day after "Twilight" opened.

"Same time, same place," said Richie Fay, the distribution head for Summit Entertainment. "If it's also the same gross, we'll be very pleased. Hopefully, we'll have even better results."

The good thing about Twilight is that it will continue to garner new tweens so even those who did not see the first movie until it came out on dvd will be looking forward to the next film. I know I bought 4 copies of the book as gifts to my brothers wives who never heard of it cuz they do not have teens in their lives. Sure made buying Christmas gifts for the wives easier this year. My new logo is a screenprint I did of my Cullen Crest tshirt - had a heck of a time trying to get a border to fit on it - let alone fit it in the scanner. Someone at the gym asked me if that was MY crest - and I said Yes!  %%  I am soooooo over on the darkside that I now have the secret recipe for the cookies.

lol I did that not long ago at Walmart, couple ladies was looking at books wondering about Twilight & I filled em in..when they left they both had a copy

I just hope with the new director they got for New Moon & the rush they seem to be in to get the movie made that they don't screw it up.   I also think they should have a bigger budget to make the movie cause of having more special effects this time, especially the werewolves.  I'm hoping they don't make em look all cheap & funky looking.

This is true in a way that it has not been before. We have not had a film where the werewolves were to be good guys. Even in American Werewolf in London he was a bad guy while a wolf. We actually have to have them appear an intelligent and loving clan not to mention good looking.

So, in today's mail there were a couple Christmas cards, and one plain white envelope addressed to me and the sender was "Edward"  ROFL  No visible postmark....

So I opened it up and inside where several pictures of Edward and Bella.... you know, the movie promotional posters, anyway... they had been cut from a newspaper... and on each one, little thought bubbles had been added.  One was of Edward & Bella sitting looking out over the Sound, and the bubble said "Why am I here with this chick when I could be with Stinkerbell?" (but with my real name, of course)  And another was of him towering over her while she is looking at the camera and his thought bubble says "I wonder what Stinkerbell is wearing."  Another one is the two of them standing together and the bubble over Edwards head reads "Bella, can I call you Stinkerbell?"  ROFL  Another  pic with the two of them says "I wish Stinkerbell were here"  And Bella has a bubble saying "Who is this Stinkerbell chick?"  And the last one which had me rolling and blushing is the promo of James holding Edward by the throat against the mirror and it says "So, do you like it rough, Stinkerbell?"  ROFL  That was one of the best Christmas gifts/cards I've ever gotten!!!!  ROFL

And it really did come from Edward... told you he wants me   ""

I am extremely jealous but I do understand why he would do this. Hope Bella gets over it cuz you know teens - they can be vicious bloodsuckers. The books I gave out as gifts are listed as from Edward cuz after I read this today I pulled off the tags I had on them!

I think that's a great idea, changing the tags.  I hope they understand the significance of it all.  Go Team Edward!

Today I am taking a friend to see Twilight. She has just finished the book so is in full mode for it. When looking up the daily schedule I found this article that talks about Jacob and gives hope for us that are fans of the young boy who plays Jacob, Taylor Lautner AND it mentions us!<i>

'Twilight' Exclusive: Taylor Lautner Talks About His Campaign To Stay On 'New Moon'

'As far as I know, I haven't been told 'no' yet,' says the young star, who's put on 19 pounds to play Jacob Black.

by Larry Carroll
Taylor Lautner (MTV News) BEVERLY HILLS, California — Over the last few weeks "Twilight" Nation has been thrown into disarray, first over the appointment of a new director, Chris Weitz, for the sequel and then by rampant rumors that 16-year-old Taylor Lautner is going to be similarly replaced. (One bright light of the week</i> We just named Twilighters, collectively, the Woman of 2008.)<i> On Wednesday night, Lautner spoke exclusively with MTV News and insisted that reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.

"I have been working out. I've been working out since the day we finished filming 'Twilight.' I just weighed myself today; I've put on 19 pounds," the noticeably larger Lautner told us, promising that he'll be big enough to fit Stephenie Meyer's physical description of Jacob Black in "New Moon" when cameras begin rolling in 12 weeks. "I'm guaranteeing Weitz 10 more [pounds] by filming. I get to meet Chris on Friday, in two days, so I'm excited. I'm going to have lunch with him."

The news of a Lautner-Weitz sit-down will undoubtedly launch a few thousand "OME!" exclamations, as Twilighters have spent the past few days launching Web sites, petitions and other shows of support for the young star. Speaking with us at Wednesday's Hollywood Foreign Press Association Salutes Young Hollywood event, Lautner also addressed actor Michael Copon's claims that he had landed the Jacob role, insisting that Copon's Facebook declarations might be a bit premature.

"I've heard a few things," he said of Copon. "I don't really know too much to comment on it. As far as I know, I haven't been told 'no' yet, so it's still all up in the air."

In regards to the series' recent musical-chairs situation, the affable actor offered nothing but kind words for both his past and possibly future directors. "I've seen a few of [Chris Weitz's] films, and he's really talented. The same thing with Catherine [Hardwicke]; I mean, Catherine had a really interesting mind," Lautner observed. "[Weitz] has that as well, and he's very talented. I've heard a lot of good stuff about him, so I'm excited to meet him. I heard he's like a surfer dude, and that he's really laid-back and friendly. It'll be fun."

The "Twilight" heartthrob also gave us his reaction to the studio's "New Moon" press release issued Saturday, which listed his co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, but caused widespread speculation in its omission of Lautner's name.

"I think it's because, well, Rob and Kristen were the lead roles in 'Twilight,' so they've got to be back," he reasoned. "I don't even know if they're officially signed; maybe they are, I don't know. They just hired Weitz, and now they're just moving down the cast. All I can say is, I'm going to be ready if my number's called."

In all the chaos of the past few weeks, Lautner added, plenty of things have been exaggerated by the media. Entertainment Weekly reported this week that his agent is talking to the effects people behind "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" about demonstrating how effectively Lautner could be transformed digitally. "Nothing [along those lines] has happened, and I don't know if it will," he told us. "I think there's a lot of things that have gotten blown up that haven't really occurred. That hasn't happened. I've just been working out for awhile, and I'm ready."

Sure enough, Lautner's partially unbuttoned shirt, larger physique and beginnings of a mustache sure seem to indicate that he's ready to show Weitz how he could effectively return as grown-up Jacob Black. And the actor said that in these uncertain times, he continues to surf the "Twilight" sites and take solace in the fans' support.

"Thank you, fans. Keep going, keep working hard, and we'll see soon," he said, addressing the recent MTV poll that had Twilighters choosing him over Copon (or anyone else) by a 12-1 margin. "That's good to hear. I appreciate all the fans who are doing stuff [to show their support].

"My job for 'Twilight' was to bring 'Twilight' Jacob to life — the friendly, happy-go-lucky little Jacob," Lautner explained, looking forward to the Friday lunch that will shape the future of his career. "And my job for 'New Moon' is completely different; I've been looking forward to that. I've been getting ready for it, and I can assure them that I will follow through with that job."
This report is from MTV News. </i>

I am hoping they keep him.... I mean, I am Team Edward all the way... but I wouldn't want to see anyone else play Jacob at this point.  I think Lautner fully portrayed Jacob's personality and spirit.  Also, it would really suck for them to yank something that big out from under him.

I think Jacob is kewl in the movie. I enjoy this character mostly cuz I am surrounded by his race here where I live. My area is surrrounded by native reserves an pretty kewl to see him. I think if he can add on the extra pounds - then they shouldn't have to remove him. It'll fit the part perfectly.
I hate when charaters get replaced. Throws the whole thing off.....

Anywho jmo

I am american indian (quapaw) and monday I went out to the local reservation to go see Twilight (for the 2nd time) with a friend. I was amazed at the difference of mood in the theatre from the first time I saw it which was the day it came out but in the high end of town. There were girls in their Team Jacob shirts and old ladies in their DAZZLE ME shirts. This old lady wore her Cullen Crest shirt and people actually understood it. And unlike the first time I saw it in a mostly empty theatre this was packed and even the indian guys were cheering at the Jacob parts. This time there was cheering and jeering and clapping at the end. I am glad I went back even though I was glad to be going again anyway. My grandson texted me from Vegas where he is spending Xmas with his step sisters and THEY have seen it 5 times and begged him to go so he finally went.

I did have a bit of a light bulb moment when I realized that Charlie does NOT have curls - that should mean something to those who have read the last book and I am wondering how that will be cleared up - you have to keep the same Charlie or it won't seem as good.

I just got a twilight magazine from santa with pinups for my wall  :)))  I am so bummed out with Breaking Dawn..it's the first book in the series I haven't plowed through. Without revealing anything, the big dilemma in the beginning was such a buzz kill for me that I just can't get in to it now  girls18.gif I stopped reading it at about 400 pages and it's been a week since I've touched it..I'm sure I'll finish it sooner or later  :(

Breaking Dawn was a hard book but persevere because it makes all the most difference to the Saga. I had a very hard time with it and found myself crying for so much of the book. I have never had that happen in a book before. But trust me when I say that Breaking Dawn IS central to the entire saga and important to finish. You will be back wrapped up in the whole thing shortly. Big Ole grin on my face at the end then sorrow that it was all over til I discovered you can re-read books!

Last I heard was he gained around 20 pounds and was meeting with the director..he seems to be a fan favorite and I don't understand why it would be so difficult for him to reprise the role.He may be a little short but thats easy to fix.It will be interesting to see what this new director brings to the plate.Frankly I'm a little worried only because the last director was female and she seemed to be able to grasp things from Bella's point of view  <:>

I don't know why I didn't see this post, I'm sorry.  No, I havent' heart a single word... something about they will be starting in February with sets and stuff, filming in March.  I did read that they are considering filming in Canada this time, but don't know why.

Keep us posted if you hear anything.   (OO)

Easy answer for that one is that it is lots cheaper to film in Canada than the US. One of the few Canadian things that is cheaper other than medical care. There are quite a few movies that have been based in Nova Scotia but were supposed to be Washington or Oregon. There is one I can't remember that had the sun coming UP in the Pacific but it was a Lifetime movie so I don't remember anything except made in Peggy's Cove, N.S.

I read not long ago they was filming parts in Canada, Oregon & some in Italy... guess we'll know for sure when they start.

I think Taylor will do a great job as Jacob.  I know that look he gave Edward at the prom in Twilight was to die for,  & at his age I'm sure he will have grown more since Twilight's filming.

Anyway, will keep watching for any new news!  :))) <:>

New Moon takes place because Bella is turning 18 and since Jacob was too young to drive and not quite 16 when Bella was 17 that would not make Jacob 25. He "matures" quite fast in the book because of what he is but agewise he is still not quite 20 in Breaking Dawn.

His age being at 25 was not meant to be literal... it was a description of how he changed physically after the transformation.  I think.   :-[

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Taylor Lautner will be back to morph into the monstrous Jacob Black in the "Twilight" sequel "New Moon."

There had been talk that a bigger, buffer, more menacing actor might play the role when the second of Stephenie Meyer's hugely successful vampire novels hits movie screens come Nov. 20. Lautner, by comparison, appears lean and sweet-faced in part one. But distributor Summit Entertainment and director Chris Weitz confirmed Wednesday that Lautner would be returning.

Stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will also be returning as the saga's doomed young lovers, high schooler Bella Swan and brooding vampire Edward Cullen.

Catherine Hardwicke's "Twilight" opened at No. 1 with a whopping $69.6 million at the box office in November, the biggest opening ever for a female director. It has since grossed about $177 million domestically.

I have a friend in Hong Kong that sells me dvds for $10 ea including the shipping. Sometimes the artwork has some chinese on it and it only comes with artwork and sleeve (to save on the postage) but I don't know if I want to buy Twilight without a hard case. I have seen it 3 times in the theatre and you would think that would be enough but it wasn't. I am still curious if the dolls "dazzle" when you take the shirt off. His expression looks constipated! But then he probably hasn't gone in a hundred years.

I absolutely LOVED the twilight saga.
Breaking Dawn was my favorite book. I picked Twilight up at the library, and then a friend let me borrow the other 3 (2 of which I still have, even though I've finished reading them) I was saddened when I finished the series, and had to read something else. I am a college student and had 2 1/2 hour breaks, so I'd read. I think I went through at least 7 books this semester (I'm a quick reader)

Wtf? They made a perfume? Of what?  The Edward doll looks nothing like him. I am excited for the release of the DVD, I cant wait to get it!! :)

While we are on the vampire theme.. has anyone read the Sookie Stackhouse series? (Now HBO's TrueBlood) My aunt knew I was obsessed with Twilight and that I love to read, so she bought me the series. I have the paperbacks so there are 7 books total, but I believe the hardcover series has 8 [From what I was told by a friend]. They're interesting, I got it for Christmas and am already starting the 3rd book.. but its no Twilight saga. haha

Yea I hated when I finished reading the Twilight books so I read em again, lol.  Still hoping that she will eventually finish Midnight Sun & think if she does, it will be bigger than her other books.

I haven't read the Sookie books yet but I have the 1st 3 books.  When I get all of them then I'll start reading em.  I plan to get the 1st season on dvds of True Blood when it comes out in couple months as I don't have hbo & heard the show was really good.  I'm getting the Moonlight season dvds later this month when it comes out.

I just started reading the Dark Hunter series books by Sherrilyn Kenyon (on a recommendation from Stinkerbell) & so far I love em & plan to read em all.  I've read Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur too & loved it so I'll be getting more of hers.

Yeah, I didn't picture Rob as Edward at all, so there was a bit of adjusting to do.  However, I imagined Bella looked exactly like Kristen... so ya win some, ya lose some.

They have mentioned it on E.com and on the MTV site but I am wondering if she would take a part that was not more of a leading role. She has played along side Tom Cruise after all. And while the trailer of her newest PUSH shows she really is growing up, she is still Fern in Charlotte's Web to me.

The last paragraph of the King article also put down Perry Mason author Erle Stanley Gardner, Dean Koontz and James Patterson so I have a feeling poor King isn't bringing in enough money with his books. Sadly, I used to love Stephen King but his books got so graphically violent I quit reading him.

The article:

Count Stephen King among those not swooning over Edward Cullen.

In what should have been a controversy-free interview with USA Weekend to promote his latest book, the horror master has slammed Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer's writing prowess...by flat-out saying she has none.

What started with an innocent question on the recent juggernaut success of fellow mainstream writers Meyer and J.K. Rowling quickly devolved into a full-scale denouncement of the former's skills.

"The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn," he said. "She's not very good."

Leave it to an author not to mince his words.

Possibly sensing the worldwide fallout from inflaming millions of Twilight loyalists, King went on to say that while Meyer's writing may bite the big one, her storytelling is compelling...at least to a certain, less experienced, segment of the population.

"People are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it's very clear that she's writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It's very exciting and it's thrilling and it's not particularly threatening because they're not overtly sexual.

"A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like the vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all hot and cold. And for girls, that's a shorthand for all the feelings that they're not ready to deal with yet."

While King seemed to reserve his choicest words for Meyer, she wasn't the only best-selling author eviscerated by him. On the contrary, King declared Perry Mason author Erle Stanley Gardner "terrible," Dean Koontz "sometimes...just awful," and James Patterson "a terrible writer" who is nonetheless "very very successful."

Darn, I wanted my Jacob Hearts! And I think perhaps they are waiting til March cuz of the DVD release. Last I heard Valentines Day is still Feb 14.

QuoteConversation Hearts to Honor 'Twilight' Film

The New England Confectionary Co. plans to expand its Sweethearts lineup to include candy hearts with sayings inspired by teen film
by Sara Bonisteel

A Valentine's Day candy staple is getting some bite.

The New England Confectionery Co., NECCO, plans to expand its 143-year-old Sweethearts Conversation Hearts line next month with treats inspired by the Stephenie Meyer vampire series "Twilight."

The candymaker will sell tiny hearts in early March with sayings like "I ♥ EC," "Lion and Lamb," "Bite Me," "Dazzle" and "Live 4 Ever," a NECCO official told AOL Food on Friday. The new hearts are tied to the March 21 "Twilight" DVD release and part of a larger Sweethearts overhaul.

The "Twilight" hearts will be softer with stronger, fruitier flavors, and the sweets will carry 20 phrases attributed to the movie's main characters, Bella and Edward, Jackie Hague, NECCO vice president of marketing, told AOL Food.

And some will sparkle in the sunlight, just like the film's main vampire, Edward.

"Bella's don't dazzle in the sun, only Edward's do," Hague said. "Edward's are purple and orange, and Bella's are pink and bright red."

The Boston Herald reported last month that hearts would have flavors like "tempting apple" and "orange obsession," but Hague would not confirm that, though she said the candies will be packaged in a strawberry-scented box.

"We're really not ready to talk about the flavors yet," Hague said. "We kind of want kids to look forward to seeing what they are."

Meyer helped develop the "Twilight" Sweethearts, and another lineup tied to the second film, "New Moon," will be released in November.

"It's really something that we think people who are into the franchise are gonna go, 'These guys get it,'" Hague said. "They're going to think they're fun, because they are."

When asked if the "New Moon" candies would have hearts for another love interest in the series, Jacob, Hague coyly responded with a "maybe."

The new logo (with a different font) announced yesterday:

from MTV:
Although the look of the new logo will undoubtedly get Twilighter tongues wagging, it's the five-word official title that is the most prominent variation from Stephenie Meyer's simple "New Moon."

With roman numerals now considered taboo in Hollywood, and sequel names like "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" in vogue, it makes sense that Weitz and crew would label the future films as "The Twilight Saga." At the risk of reading too much into five words, it also seems to imply that "New Moon" will boast a more epic feel than the first movie.

As for the logo itself, Weitz has chosen to stay with the lowercase lettering, personable font and light-streaks-poking-through look of last year's hit film. In switching from blue to orange, the movie's upcoming posters will be instantly distinguishable from those of the original "Twilight" – which should make them look a whole lot cooler when teenage girls all over the world add them to their walls. The presence of orange also begs a new question: Now that blue and orange are taken, which colors should be used for "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn"?

It's one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It's the next installment in a worldwide phenomenon. And now, it's called "The Twilight Saga's New Moon." Stay tuned, Twilighters, as MTV will continue to bring you all the latest news from now until November.

Wow they are getting on a roll now, especially sice NM isn't even filming yet..lol  But I can't wait for this 1 cause  my fave part in the whole series is from Eclipse so they better not leave it out of the movie!!

'The Twilight Saga's Eclipse': Coming On June 30, 2010
Third film in 'Twilight' series gets release date.

Just a day after "Twilight" fans got a look at the artwork for "New Moon," they're getting another treat: On June 30, 2010, "Eclipse" is coming.

"Yes, it's true," a source at Summit Entertainment confirmed to MTV News Friday evening (February 20). " 'The Twilight Saga's Eclipse' is dated for Wednesday, June 30, 2010."

The big news comes on the heels of a report that the "Twilight" studio had selected a release date for the third film in the series. The threequel's plot synopsis was also leaked for the first time.

"As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger," the plotline explains of the film based on Stephenie Meyer's "Eclipse" novel. "In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death."

The studio has been quick to point out that "New Moon" and "Eclipse" will not be shooting back-to-back, as franchises from "The Matrix" to "Lord of the Rings" have done in the past. The studio also has not chosen a director for "Eclipse," meaning that Chris Weitz's "New Moon" turn at the helm could be as singular as Catherine Hardwicke's was with the original "Twilight."

As "Twilight" fans know, Meyer's final book, "Breaking Dawn," will most likely be made into a movie if the studio is going so far as to film the first three novels. Meyer has gone on record saying that she'd like "Breaking Dawn" to be filmed as two separate movies, but little else is known about Summit's plans to continue the saga beyond "Eclipse."

'Eclipse' Gets a Release Date - But How Do the Twilighters Feel?
Published by Larry Carroll on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 11:10 pm.

In case you haven't heard, the "Eclipse" release date has been leaked. And my honest thoughts? I could put a hundred more G's after my "OMG!" and it wouldn't even begin to convey them.

Okay, Twilighters, here's the good news: You've made it to prime time. The release date is in late June, prime tentpole territory typically reserved for the likes of Will Smith, superheroes and hundred-million-dollar Michael Bay movies. No more of these November, let's-hope-we-catch-the-teens-while-they're-home-for-the-holidays release dates for you guys. In fact, a quick peek at the 2010 release schedule shows that "Eclipse" will be butting heads with such heavyweights as "Prince of Persia," "Toy Story 3" and Jackson Rathbone's "The Last Airbender."

Unfortunately, there's also some bad news: Eyebrows were raised among the fans when the "New Moon" release date was announced as being a year after "Twilight" arrived in theaters. Now, "Eclipse" will hit screens a mere seven months after "New Moon." Figuring in the roughly three months that Chris Weitz required to prepare the second film, that gives the director of the third movie barely four months to shoot it, edit it, get the special effects up to speed and put the film in theaters.

Of course, if a director other than Weitz is chosen to film "Eclipse," he or she could have longer to prepare the movie. But any "Twilight" fan would be right to be a bit concerned about the new date – because, as Hollywood has shown us time and time again, hastily-made sequels like "Legally Blonde 2," "Conan the Destroyer" and the "Saw" films often, well, suck.

The advantage of "Eclipse," obviously, is that the text is already written – and amongst the Twilighters, it's perfect just as it is. Stay tuned to MTV as we'll keep following all the details on "The Twilight Saga" films in the months (and now years!) to come.

Enough about my thoughts, what are yours? Are you more happy that "Eclipse" is being filmed, or nervous about the super-fast turnaround time awaiting the third film's director?

Yes I told you about that part a while back.  It is just so darn funny but also sad in a way too.  That part is mainly what puts that book 2nd place in my Twilight books.   popcorn2.gif

What you are saying is that Edward was not a happy camper. It was one of my fav parts too. I saw that Robert was sitting behind Mickey Roarke last night - so there were two people who needed to take a comb to their hair.

Wal-Mart Gearing Up For Twilight in a Big Way

Wal-Mart is promising a store-within-a-store in preparation for the Twilight release next month during what I shall dub "Merch March". The new section will include:

The Twilight DVD movie - standard and special edition
The Twilight CD soundtrack
The Twilight book series: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn
Twilight apparel
Twilight messenger bags and totes
Twilight posters
Assorted Twilight licensed jewelry, key chains and accessories
Staying true to Wal-Mart's modus operandi, it promises "more affordable access to Twilight items than ever before". Check out the whole press release after the cut.

Fans can pre-order Summit Entertainment's Twilight DVD today from Walmart.com
BENTONVILLE, Ark

PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Fans bitten by Twilight mania will soon find much more than the popular vampire book series at Walmart as the retailer becomes a new nationwide Twilight destination. In conjunction with Summit Entertainment's DVD release of this box office smash launching next month, all Walmart stores and Walmart.com will offer unique "Twilight store" areas containing a wide array of crowd-pleasing merchandise at affordable Walmart values.
Today Twilight fans can go to www.walmart.com/twilight (http://www.walmart.com/twilight) to pre-order the new Walmart-exclusive standard DVD movie or special edition DVD, both to release nationwide March 21. As the countdown to the DVD release begins, the Web site will host discussions and post news about exciting fan events and activities to come. Today fans can go to Walmart.com/twilight to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes movie footage. In a few days, they also will find special features on the site to upload and enhance their digital photo to send an "eBite" to a friend. As teens, moms and friends prepare for Twilight "viewing parties" around the country, the site will continue to add special announcements and new material over the coming weeks.
Committed to bringing customers more affordable access to Twilight items than ever before, Walmart will dedicate a special area in each of its 3,500 stores to Twilight beginning mid-March - just days before the DVD movie release is available - to offer items including:
   * The Twilight DVD movie - standard and special edition   * The Twilight CD soundtrack*   * The Twilight book series* Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn   * Twilight apparel   * Twilight messenger bags and totes   * Twilight posters*   * Assorted Twilight licensed jewelry, key chains and accessories
"Twilight is a cultural phenomenon that has gripped both teens and adults across the country," said Greg Hall, vice president, Merchandising. "From the popularity we've already witnessed in books and music, we believe 'Twilighters' will be very excited about the items and values Walmart will bring together in a new in-store and online experience."
"We're delighted to partner with Walmart in bringing the highly anticipated Twilight DVD to the millions of enthusiastic fans who made the film such a groundbreaking success in its theatrical release," said Steve Nickerson, President of Summit Home Entertainment. "By creating specially-dedicated Twilight stores, both in their brick-and-mortar locations and on their website, Walmart is creating a unique home for this beloved franchise's passionate fan base."
Walmart will host these dedicated Twilight areas in stores through April, and continue to carry Twilight merchandise through the year, some items for a limited period only.
Twilight was the bestselling book of 2008 across all genres and the movie's November 21, 2008 opening weekend was one of the biggest in Hollywood history, grossing $70.6 million.

I so didn't want to see "name" stars join the cast because it takes away from the everyday kind of persons we saw in the first one. It does not mean I don't like Dakota. Her recent movie shows her taller than me so I am having problems thinking of her as a young Volturi.

I got this from the Stephanie Myer website about special features on the dvds:

SPECIAL FEATURES — DISC ONE
Five extended scenes with director introductions
Audio commentary (Catherine Hardwicke, Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart)
Three music videos (Muse, Paramore, Linkin Park)

SPECIAL FEATURES — DISC TWO
Five deleted scenes with director introductions
Seven-part documentary: "The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen"
Comic-Con Phenomenon featurette
And more!

I am hoping that means that we have only seen the deleted scenes from <b>one</b> and that there are double the amount.

LOL  Catherine Hardwick said it will be on there, so I trust her. It wouldn't be part of the extended stuff so maybe that's why we haven't seen it on the deleted or extendeds yet.

I fell in love with Dakota during the Sci Fi series <b>Taken</b> so maybe she is just too well known to me. I actually watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire last night on TV just to see Cedric Diggery 'post-Twilight knowledge'. And those rumors of Madonna wanting to play a part just make me angry. Of course, everyone wants a part of Twilight after the fact but come on, please at least pick people who have acting skills.

I am so jealous of you guys that have purchased and viewed the dvd. I never in my life thought I would say I can't wait to leave Disneyland but I do, I can't quit thinking about men who sparkle. And the only sparkle in the men around here is Aladdin's shoes. At least when I am not working I can play on the computer banks but no autos allowed on this system! This "filling in when a band member goes on vacation" sounded like a good idea at the time but I really needed to specify not during a certain dvd launch. Talked with someone who had attended a Hot Topic Launch party and she said they had a lifesize cutout of Edward to have your photo with. I am going to call Hot Topic and ask what they are going to do with Edward. Do not throw it away - I will take it off their hands and into my arms *sigh*

Well, you do have a couple options... Goofy is tall, you might be able to hug him. And Tinkerbell kinda sparkles with pixie dust, so you could probably hug her. But it's not the same, I know.  Can you escape to a Wal-Mart and pick one up?

I haven't bought the dvd yet either as times are tough and my player is broken anyway  6_6.gif  ..soo I have to be content with watching all the extras on the web. It seems people are feeling ripped off that the Catherine H. vampire kiss montage isn't included in the 2 disc set unless its blu ray or something like that. I guess target's 3 disc version has it . Pretty confusing so if someone can straighten me out when I do get it that would be helpful.  tumbsup.gif

Watch it all the way to the end to see the Midnight Sun clip Catherine Hardwicke filmed.

I saw the montage a few days ago..at the end during the biology scene I was like, "why are they including this?" then my jaw literally dropped  wow.gif You know the clip where Bella and Edward are on the red couch? Goofy is.....well too Goofy and Tink doesn't swing that way. I took your advice and google map'd the nearest 24 hr Walmart to Disneyland and found one not too far off the freeway. I got home and watched but I may watch again today just in case Bella decides not to go to the ballet studio. The good thing about Disneyland right now is that they have Capt Jack Sparrow lookalike castmembers all over the place which is an okay if you don't have a Cullen. However in 6 degrees of separation I found this pic of Johnny looking very much like Robert Smith of the Cure.

Speaking of which, my 25 yr old niece just named her daughter Alivia Renesmee. That poor child will forever be teased if they find out why the middle name and the first name looks like a misspelling of Olivia. Although probably by the time she goes to school the most common name will be Renesmee.

'Wolf Pack' cast in 'Twilight' sequel
March 24, 2009, 2:41 PM EST
Entertainment Tonight
Jacob's "wolf pack" buddies in the "Twilight" sequel "New Moon" have been announced.

Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman will join Taylor Lautner in the film's La Push nation wolf pack. All of the new castmembers are of Native American descent, hailing from the Lakota (Sioux), Cree-Metis, Purepecha (Tarasco), Hualapai and Cree nations respectively.

The young men were cast by Rene Haynes who cast such films as "Dances with Wolves" and "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee."

In "New Moon," Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is faced with a separation from her one and only, vamp Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and embarks on a new friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), spending time with him on the La Push reservation, where she encounters his friends in the "wolf pack."

I am American Indian (Quapaw) so it is very pleasing to me to see that they are going to be using real ones in this movie. For one thing it will prove they can do more than drink and chase cowboys. They can drink and chase vampires too.

OMG this is just gross about one of the Twilight stars
'Twilight's' lead vamp even smells like the undead
Fans hoping for a close encounter with "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson might have a change of heart after they hear about the hunk's poor hygiene habits. According to on-set sources, he looks dreamy, but smells like a nightmare.

"He stinks," one insider told E! Online. "I mean, it's awful. He never showers, and it drives people on the set crazy."

The odiferous account was backed up by a crewmember ("He completely reeks"), and comes as no surprise, given Pattinson's past comments.

"I have so much residue crap in my hair from years and years and years of not washing it and not having any sense of personal hygiene whatsoever," he said. "Even today, I go into these things where I'm supposed to be this sexy guy or whatever, and I'm literally asking (the studio rep) 'if I get plumes of dandruff on me, can you just brush it off?'"

Stephanie won the Kids Choice Award for best book - actually quite a surprise considering the competition.

<i>"After a record more than 90 million votes, a winner was decided in the fierce book battle between Harry Potter and Edward Cullen. The Twilight series took home the Favorite Book award, and Taylor Lautner—not Robert Pattinson, sorry, ladies—picked it up in Stephenie Meyer's absence."</i>

Unlike cold-blooded neck biters, these poster guys for animal magnetism are hot. So hot that their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees, as anyone who has read Stephenie Meyer's series of gothic romances knows.

That gives them a great excuse to doff their shirts on-screen and expose the physiques they've been pumping up for playing werewolves in The Twilight Saga:New Moon, the sequel to last year's supernatural sensation, due Nov. 20.

Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

"It's not pleasant for the actors," says director Chris Weitz. "But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.' "

Have had a really hard time finding out when The Host is coming out in paperback. There are internet sites that say it is already out in paperback but I think I remember it being sometime in April or May. I am afraid I will go and just buy it in hardback to find it in paperback the next week and my finances are like everyone else right now. Wish I could find someone willing to sell it for tokens.

The paperback has been released outside of the US but in english and that is why they are so high - it is actually the "large print" softback. But the under $8 US publication is the one that I had heard was either this month or next back when they first released the hardback. For $32 it better arrive as a hatchback.

The annual ComiCon is here in Sandy Eggo and besides Johnny Depp representing Alice in Wonderland, the event has the Twilight crew for some press conferences and fan events. Rob answers most of his questions turned towards the host instead of the cameras. It was at ComiCon last year where the actors realized that Twilight was going to be a hit so I am glad they returned. So far there are two 8 min interviews. Did I mention Johnny Depp was in San Diego too? And the event still has a couple more days.

It was announced today that they are replacing Victoria in Eclipse. The promo to the news just said "See who is being replaced" and my stomach did all sorts of flips because I am now invested in the cast the way it is. But truth is Victoria is so peripheral that I am okay with the swap out of someone else.

US actress Bryce Dallas Howard is to play evil character Victoria in the third Twilight film, Eclipse.

The screen star will replace Rachelle Lefevre, who took on the role in the first two instalments of the franchise, its makers have said.

Lefevre quit because production on a film with Dustin Hoffman is due to start in another part of Canada at the same time.

Howard's other screen credits include Terminator Salvation and Spider-Man 3.

There was something about LeFevre that bothered me anyway...her acting didn't do it for me. So this doesn't bother me at all, and like DLL said, she was not yet such a big part of the movie that it will make that much of a difference.

Rumor has it that LeFevre has signed on to another movie filming out of the country at the same time as Eclipse was to be filmed. She was miffed that her 10 days couldn't be worked around. Considering the large cast she obviously misjudged her self importance. And Bryce Dallas Howard is Ron Howard's daughter.

As a native american I just love that Jacob is becoming so popular and will have such a big part of the new movie. First time a really sexy indigenous man has been given a co-lead and I, for one, am wearing my Team Jacob tee all the time. It has wolf claw marks across it. I also have a La Push Diving Club tee and only the true fans "get" that tee. Yes, I am still OCD about the saga. My teen grandson has Twilight listed on his Facebook of "things you wish would finally go away."

Also a quick view of Dakota Fanning. I heard a rumor that they had to spray on Rob's six pack cuz Taylor looked so good shirtless. I have to say that Edward does look more ripped.

Keeping in mind that we hijacked this saga from the tweens I am willing to put up with PG. I have a very fertile imagination.

Was flipping channels and FX had Cold Creek Manor from 2003 (Dennis Quaid, Sharon Stone) and the teen daughter Kristen is played by a younger Kristen Stewart. No wonder she wasn't afraid of a vampire!

I just saw an ad for another Kristen Stewart movie called The Messengers (2007). An ominous darkness invades a seemingly serene sunflower farm in North Dakota, and the Solomon family is torn apart by suspicion, mayhem and murder. It will be on <b>tonight </b>on LMN (Lifetime Movie Network) at 9pm. (check local times)

`Breaking Dawn' to be broken into 2 films
Jun 11, 1:49 PM (ET)

LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Twilight" fans will have twice as much to sink their teeth into for the saga's final chapter, with "Breaking Dawn" to be released as two movies.

Summit Entertainment, which is releasing the wildly popular vampire franchise based on Stephenie Meyer's books, said part one would come out Nov. 18, 2011. The script is being written now, with stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner returning. Production is set to begin this fall.

Bill Condon, who won an Oscar for the screenplay of his 1999 film "Gods and Monsters," will direct both movies. Condon also directed "Dreamgirls" and "Kinsey" and produced the 2009 Academy Awards ceremony with Hugh Jackman as host.

The third film in the franchise, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," comes out June 30.
