i dont know what happened... i cant play none of the programs.. everyone of them gets a setup.exe stop. i did the delete and reboot and still have problems. anyone have a answer?
once you run the setup exe it installs the program and gives the option for shortcut being placed on the desktop...you shouldn't run the setup exe again, use the shortcut or bowse to programs badgehelp and start them there
thats not an option. i get a box that pops up telling me that the Setup.exe has stopped working. it dont give no options to do nothing but exit out.
1. Make sure you have ALL windows updates
2. Run this program and fix any problems http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html (http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html)
3. Defrag your pc
4. Reboot your pc
5. Redownload
Make sure you follow the proper download and installation instructions

I have just recently had this problem also. I use Vista. I think it must be some kind of update I installed. I had xp on old machine b4 and had no problems, but on Vista I get the setup has stopped working.
Repair setup.exe Error
The very first thing to do when you encounter a setup .exe error is to make sure that you have switched off your Antivirus software, as well as any Firewall program that you might be using.
Both AV programs and Firewalls are specifically designed to stop malicious intruders from getting into the operating system of your machine, and installing programs that the AV is not familiar with will often raise a red flag.
The program is therefore prone to just stop the setup in its tracks.
I turned off both before I posted my thread asking for help.
i have vista also. i reformatted my harddrive and now everythings working like it should. i didnt have the problem until a windows update call office live was installed. all i can tell you is that if you dont need that update... dont install it...
I've been having this issue too...every cheat I download has the same problem. I double click on the download file, and after it loads, this message appears every time: Setupxxx.exe has stopped working (A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available). My only option is to click Close program.
I've been looking for a solution to this ever since I tried to use these programs a few months ago, and the only suggestions I've seen are: (1) Defrag, reboot, and redownload, and (2) turn off anti-virus software. Clearly, these suggestions do not work, and there is a significant problem with these programs that needs to be fixed.
Does anyone have a legitimate solution?
The problem is your pc. Something is preventing the program from installing correctly. If none of the suggestions work you should do a clean install of windows and get ALL windows updates before installing anything but remember to backup any important info.
If you have vista there is another thread I started called Help Installing A Cheat where it was said that the programmer knows about the problem and is working on a fix for the autos but no ETA has been stated as to when they get fixed so they will work.
OK, I figured out why the setup.exe quits on vista. There is a program called DEP(Data Execution Prevention) that is stopping it. I turned mine to just windows essential programs instead of all programs except those listed and can install them now.
CrazyMan: thank you, thank you, thank you! This totally solved the problem. DEP needs to be changed to "on only for essential Windows programs" in order for the programs to install.
Admins: this should be a sticky or should be added to install instructions.

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that helps prevent damage from viruses and other security threats by monitoring your programs to make sure they use system memory safely.
If you choose to protect all programs, you can still turn off DEP for individual programs. If you suspect that a program does not run correctly when DEP is turned on, check for a DEP-compatible version of the program or an update from the software publisher before you change any DEP settings.
1. Open System by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking System.
2. Click Advanced System Settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Under Performance, click Settings.
4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select, or just windows essential programs.
thanks for letting me know.....if I ever have that problem then I wanted to know where it was. Not that I will remember or anything, but I wanted to know. giggle2.gif
I PM'ed MayHem with the info so hopefully he will make a sticky topic for the instructions.
