HI all,
I was wondering if any of you use Windows Live Mail/Hotmail?
I LOVED my MSN/Hotmail and on Monday it asked me if I wanted the 'new' Windows Live Mail and I accidently clicked on the 'yes' button instead of the 'no' button. I HATE the layout of this Windows Live Mail and really want my Hotmail back and I have NO clue as how to get it back.
I e-mailed them to ask how to get it back, but (and no surprise) they never did get back to me. I even checked my junk mail to see, and nope, not there either.
If anyone can help me with this, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thank you all in advance,
Tammy
Windows Live is the "new" hotmail but you can go back to the "classic" which is what you want. You get there from the OPTIONS then click CLASSIC.
Thank you so much for your reply, but I see NO 'options' so that I can switch back to the 'classic'. I don't know if I'm just blind or what, but I just don't see it ??
I'm in my 'Inbox - Windows Live Mail now and this is what it shows across the top ~
New Reply Reply All Forward Add to calendar Delete Junk Sync Looks like a paintbrush and when I mouse over it, it says 'Launch the colorizer' Menus Help Then my e-mail addy
Down the left side of the pane it has a bunch of other 'categories' but no 'options'.
Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
I feel so dumb sad.gif

Hi Homer,
What you had posted above (a screenshot of what yours says), is nothing like mine. Mine says what I had posted in my 1st post of what my 'inbox' shows. That's why I'am having such a problem finding the 'options' button.
Mine doesn't show the 'Messenger' and 'Options' like yours does.
I'm using Windows XP and IE7. Not sure if that makes a difference, but just wanted to mention that.
Thank you,
Tammy
sorry but that's what mine looks like
Hmmm, ok. Hopefully someone will know. I absolutely HATE this new Windows Live Mail and want my 'old' Hotmail back 6_6.gif.
Thanks anyway Homer
Tamara,
I did a search and came up with this:
"How do I switch back to MSN Hotmail?
At this time, it is no longer possible to switch back to MSN Hotmail. If there are features you miss from MSN Hotmail, please let us know. We're focusing our effort on making Windows Live Hotmail even better, and we hope it's a step up for you."
Isn't that just peachy? They stopped supporting Outlook Express as well.

They messed with my Outlook Express, too. I hate it now. I have a number of email addresses I have to watch for various reasons and my Outlook Ex did it perfectly. Now it's all messy, darn them. I'm afraid to try the Windows Live, which is an option for me. Who likes it and why? Thanks
Hiya everyone,
I FINALLY heard back from Microsoft (after 6 days) and am glad to say that I wasn't blind after all, as there is NO more 'option' button to get the MSN/Hotmail back.
Dear Tammy,
Thank you for writing to Windows Live Mail Technical Support. My name is Amber and I understand that you want to know how to get back to MSN/Hotmail instead of the Windows Live Mail for accessing your xxxxxx.com account. I know how important it is for you to have your concern addressed immediately.
We appreciate your feedback about the layout of the Windows Live Mail. If you do not want to use the e-mail program for accessing your e-mail, please do not start or launch the application from your computer. You can access your MSN/Hotmail instead by launching an Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) and go to www.hotmail.com (http://www.hotmail.com).
You are valuable at Windows Live and we look forward to providing you with consistent and effective service. We appreciate your input and involvement in our Windows Live products.
Sincerely,
Amber

How'dja do that, Harley? Some emails won't forward to another. They will accept other emails but won't send. Also, what happens if you respond to a forwarded email? Does it show the correct email addy in the sender info? I need to revamp my email system now and don't know what to do. All info appreciated.

That is how I do it too.
Squid hotmail is the only one I found that does not allow forwarding. gmail and aol do for free yahoo makes you pay but it is a small amount. I got so many email address I just found it easier to forward everything to one address. Your isp and other email places look under options and look for mail forwarding set it up from there. It can get a little dicey if you need to enter the pop address but you are smart and I know you can do it. Most times you dont have to enter pops just forward the emails. When it comes to Hotmail you can forward email to hotmail but you cant forward a hotmail address anywhere
IM with you Tammy, i hate Windows Live, but i need Hotmail. my mail goes to Hotmail & is fowared to Incredible mail which i love. They windows sent me messages a few times saying if i didnt update 2 winows live i wouldnt have an e-mail addy from there. I have no 1 to help me, so i had 2 downloaded it . I did not want to loose Incredible mail. Widows is so confusing. My Son has cable, but wont get a cable addy. he uses yahoo. I only like there messenger same as MSN's, cause of ppl.i no using both of them. Im so ticked off swear2.gif LOL
Thanks, Harley, I'll see what I can do. The nice thing about Outlook Ex was that I could gather ALL my emails from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and my ISP in one place. I'll work it out. The POP3 and STMP stuff doesn't thwart my efforts - it's just determining what email/ISP will allow what and setting it up in the most convenient way. Thanks, again.
