DEVELOPING: A tsunami warning was issued Tuesday for several islands after a strong earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 7.9-magnitude quake shook about 120 miles southwest of American Samoa, the USGS reported.
The tsunami warning was issued for New Zealand, American Samoa and other Pacific islands, Reuters reported.
In addition, a tsunami watch was issued for Hawaii, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Holy crap on a stick! I lived in Hawaii for 6 years and Samoa for 1 and a half in the nineties.. And have many many friends there! OMG i hope that doesn't happen. I am sending emails out now.!! Thanks for the info help.gif
