Title: Gifting Services Coming to Pogo
Post by: Hocky on October 22, 2009, 12:57:50 PM
Found this today on the web........

Gifting Services Coming to Pogo

Soon, you'll be able to give more kinds of gifts to your friends via Pogo! Currently the only "gifts" we can give are Premium Badge Albums, but Pogo is going to be implementing a whole My Gifts section where you can give and see what you've received. You'll be able to give Mini items, Premium Badge Albums, and Mix-n-Match badges to your friends. It'll show you exactly what you've received too, and who gave it to you.

In the Mini Mall, for example, you'll be able to select "Give as a Gift" (in addition to "Try" or "Add" to your cart) and it'll stick the item in your Gift cart. You then choose your recipient and send away! It appears as if you'll be able to send items worth tokens and gems, though that may change in the future.

Assume for example we go on a shopping spree for a friend and send them all sorts of mini items.....

I wonder what happens if they already own that item...

does Pogo let them pick something else or will the tokens revert back to us???

We can only hope that their return policy is better than Badge Helps.  Ooops, did I say that out loud?

I like this idea.

I think it will save me money where my daughter is concerned: instead of me having to get her account gems to buy stuff I can just send the stuff to her because she ends up spending the gems on other crap.  rolleyes.gif

The only problem I see with the whole "gifting" thing is the eventual deluge of newbie beggars who will come looking for gem or badge handouts.  Other than that...I like the idea.  I could gift gems or badges to a few of my friends and family.

I wonder if the shopping glitch would work with the gift services.

Say I am running auto on one and ordering on another and sending to my sister-in-law......

well Pogo should still be unable to deduct the tokens from my account if the auto is running.

Anyone have a clue if this works or not with the gifting services???

I have a question that Joe C. should be able to answer.  Not that i am asking, but is it possible to gift the really old badge albums like "card masters", "loyal friends", and "badge bonanza"?  I'm not asking for them since I have family and friends who would be happy to album trade for ones I have.  Those are the only three I wasn't ever able to get before they expired.  Just a question to the badge man

I tried gifting a badge album awhile back, paying for it. The album was retired so I wasn't able to gift it.

I gifted someone I live with 11 backgrounds.

And the glitch worked the same for gifting to him as it does when I do it to me.

I had fun with the Pogo Police yesterday. I was double-browsing in Pogo Bowl and had been putting up great scores for about 12 hours. I was about ready to leave the room, since I finished a couple of badges I got another few times.

Some punk said, look, its a battle of autobots! Clown called about both my screen names and said you could tell I was cheating by the profiles. "Look at their profiles." Of course, my profiles are hidden. Go figure.

So I replied from my primary account. "Hey, Player X, what is wrong with my profile?"

No response. I replied from my secondary account. "Hey, Player X, I like Joe's account profile." It was funny, because, of course, the two accounts have each other as friends so I can send invites to full rooms. The room actually told Player X he was rude to accuse people of cheating. hysterical.gif

LOL, I've done things like that, too, Joe.  It's so funny.  Someone accused me of running an auto (which I was) but I happened to be right in front of the puter.  I answered her chat and she apologized for the next 20 minutes.  LOL.  It was sweet of her to face up to being "wrong".

I found out that you cannot DIRECTLY gift tokens to people. You can buy them stuff from the Mini Mall that they do not have with tokens, but it takes forever to do. I tried between my accounts. Also, the tokens decreases from shopping at the mini mall are far too small to be useful. Better to submit tokens for prize drawings. tumbsup.gif

Joe-I LOVE screwing around with people like that.   hysterical.gif

Esp in everyone whines bingo.  I'll go in a passing room under my main name, claim a bunch of b/os, then while the auto is running tell people until they hold my hand and show me in the rules about b/os...blah blah blah...then my second name will stick up for me.

I love doing that in boggle two.  Both my names sticking up for each other. hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

Cheaters can't win the cash prizes but we have the most badges and most tokens. hysterical.gif

The tag team screen names is a classic cheater's technique.

If I win the lottery, I will run cheats on four computers and dominate rooms. tumbsup.gif

I was playing with gifting the first day. I wanted to send something to everyone on my friends list at one time, so I clicked their names, picked something out, wrote a nice message about them being the recipient of my first ever gifting and then it wouldn't go through because it only allows you to send to 4  or 5 people at a time. I wanted to send to ALL my friends at the same time :(

Ok I am royally pissed off.

As I said in an earlier post.... I gifted someone I live with many backgrounds.

Well today while under another ID and playing in same room as he was....

I decide to look at profiles and clicked on his gifting one.

It shows everything I sent him and under what user name I gave them to him.

THIS IS A MAJOR INVASION OF PRIVACY.

I have so many IDS because someone is stalking me on POGO and I dont want
them to know what any of my new IDS are.

In no way and nowhere have I seen POGO explain that whatever you gifted would be public knowledge.

Seen somewhere in my Pogo account that says I can delete the gifts I received.

Does this mean they will be gone from my account or that they wont show as being received as a gift?
