Post by: FreecellFanny on November 08, 2009, 12:59:34 PM
Can anyone offer feedback on how this OS works with the autos?

I am on the verge of getting a new laptop but am hesitant.

I got a new laptop yesterday with 7 and it beats Vista by a long shot

I never had the pleasure of trying Vista. Just listening to the opinions of others was enough to put me off.  help.gif

I've downloaded a couple of the autos since my last post and I've noticed that the icon graphic does not appear for the shortcut. The auto works and loads in fine but the tiny pic is missing.

I get the shortcut okay on the desktop in widows 7 with myself as an admin but never could in Vista. However every time I close an auto I get a message box telling me my program didnt install properly and would I like to reinstall using the recommended settings.  Anyone else getting this?

Yeah that little boxis a pain  but it is better than Vista and I liked Vista.  I  do my autos different than all yall it seems.  I  save all autos to a file in doc.  Badgehelp is on my programs list and I get them from there I rename them when I save so I got the game name and not the auto cause I would never remember which went where. One thing I have discovered do not use the shuffle function on your wallpaper casue it messes with the autos.  Shuffle is  cool and the Christmas collection is really cute but ti will shuffle while your are playing and uncle doesnt like it.  Other than that I havent had any problems.   7 is way better than any other OS stable easy to use Microsoft finally got it right

I have also been wondering if anyone is using Windows 7, 64 bit, and using the autos.  Someone told me that most programs will only run on 32 bit Windows.  Just wondering before I buy a new computer.  I have been looking, and it seems that most of the new ones are 64 bit.

Thanks,
Deb

They should work just fine in a 64 bit OS. Maybe someone here can confirm that though.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64..............no problems here except that stupid dialogue box about the program being installed correctly sometimes. But that doesn't effect the running of the auto.

Thanks!  That is a relief.  I am not sure when I am getting my new computer, but when I do I am getting the
150 deal.  I have already bought a bunch of autos, but that is still the best deal around.
