Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported.

Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, FHP reported.

Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released.

A Health Central hospital employee said at 2:30 p.m. that Woods was not a patient. A hospital operator would not say if Woods had been treated and released.

FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph.

Orange County Fire Rescue received the call for aid at 2:28 a.m. Woods was transported from his Windermere-area neighborhood by the hospital's own ambulance.

FHP did not report the accident until just after 2 p.m. today. The agency said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.

Sounds like something may have happened prior to the accident. I just can't see hitting a fire hydrant and a tree coming out of a driveway unless he was speeding.

That's what I was thinking. I've read on other sites where they say he was seriously injured. Based on the fact that he first hit a hydrant, then a tree traveling under 33 mph makes me think he injuries, if indeed serious, couldn't have been caused during the accident.  I hope he is ok, regardless.

Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ Tiger Woods' early morning accident came right after an argument with his wife, Elin Nordegren.

We're told Elin told cops about the argument at the scene of the accident and Tiger gave the same story to authorities at the hospital where he was treated.

One Florida law enforcement official called it "a domestic issue."

Elin apparently was able to forgive and forget -- according to Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor, Nordegren smashed out the back window of Tiger's car to help get him out.

Smashing out the rear window with a golf club to get him out of the front seat? Bull.

She was trying to bash his brains in when she found out he was seeing another woman.

Yet another athlete not worthy of the title role model.

Damn shame. I thought Tiger was better than that.

From what I have read the facial lacerations are supposedly from his wife.

Tiger Woods: Injuries Caused by Wife, Not SUV
Posted Nov 28th 2009 6:08AM by TMZ Staff

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.

Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.

We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

Thanks, H.   Infidelity is so terribly upsetting to me because of what it does not just to the person being cheated on, but what it does when families are torn apart because of it.

I hope it's not true, but I'm afraid it probably is.  sad.gif

The news hit TMZ earlier in the day that Tiger and his wife had their argument.

He was driving out of the house and later she got him out of the car with a golf club.

Did she go BACK into the house to get the golf club, or was that why he was driving away? tumbsup.gif

Apparently the affair is being reported by a supermarket rag who is getting the info from the supposed mistresses friends. Now the woman who is supposed to be sleeping with Tiger says the sources aren't her friends and she doesn't know them and is denying everything. Should be interesting to see how this winds up.

If his wife assaulted him shouldn't she be arrested by now for domestic violence? undecided.gif

You'd think she would be charged, but he would have to press them, right? Charges that is?  Somehow I don't think he would, even if the allegations of infidelity are unfounded.

I have always believed that women should be treated equally, even in matters of domestic violence.

If she did go after him with a golf club (regardless of the reason why) and caused him injury then yes, she should be charged. If the roles were reversed he would have been arrested, strung up, and hung out to dry as a wife beater.

Fair is fair.

Tiger Saga -- Six Degrees of Gloria Allred
Posted Nov 28th 2009 3:36PM by TMZ Staff

In the world of celebrity, all worlds lead to Kevin Bacon. In the world of celebrity scandal ... it's Gloria Allred.

TMZ has learned Rachel Uchitel -- aka the person the National Enquirer calls the Other Woman in the Tiger Woods saga -- decided at 3:00 AM today she needed to lawyer up. She left a message for Gloria Allred at her office -- and quickly got a return call.

We've learned Rachel has hired Gloria and is considering, among other things, suing the National Enquirer for defamation. As we first told you, Rachel called the National Enquirer's report that she had an affair with Tiger Woods "bulls**t."

Could a news conference with Gloria and Rachel be far behind. We think not?

BTW -- we've also learned Rachel left a message for a second lawyer, who didn't call her back -- Mark Geragos.

Tiger Woods Cornered -- Turns Cops Away
Posted Nov 28th 2009 5:09PM by TMZ Staff

It looks like Tiger Woods has been boxed into a corner and his best friend, now, is time -- because he's again refused to meet with the Florida Highway Patrol about the incident with his wife early yesterday. Tiger may well be waiting for the telltale wounds to heal.

Woods' agent told the Florida Highway Patrol Tiger and wife Elin Nordegren would not make themselves available to speak with authorities today about the incident that left Tiger with lacerations and one less fire hydrant on his block.

We know the Highway Patrol is suspicious of the wife's account ... that Tiger just drove off and hit a fire hydrant. She told the first officer on the scene from the Windemere PD that she went inside the house after the crash to get a golf club and then hit the car in an attempt to free her husband. But we know she told a very different story subsequently to the Highway Patrol.

As we first reported, Tiger told a friend that his wife went ballistic at around 2:00 AM yesterday and scratched his face up -- all because of reports he allegedly had cheated on her. He left the house, started driving away and she attacked the SUV with a golf club, Tiger told the friend. He got "distracted" and hit the hydrant.

If Tiger and his wife acknowledge she scratched him up, she could be arrested for domestic abuse. And, as we first reported, Tiger told his friend he had been taking prescription painkillers and that was why he seemed out of it after the crash. Although we're told there was no alcohol involved (and that seems to be the case), driving under the influence of painkillers could be a problem, if it's provable.

By the way ... one of the things the Highway Patrol wants to see is the marks on Tiger's face, and whether they are consistent with scratch marks or impact on a car. As we reported, there was no blood on the steering wheel, making the accident scenario suspicious. But if the marks indicate a human touch and they last for a few days, we're guessing Tiger will not show up at his golf tourney on Thursday.

I think Elin confronted Tiger about the infidelity.....he denies it...... she probably cat scratched him in the face....he decided to leave the house.....she comes flying at him with the golf club while he was driving away...she hits the SUV in the back window out of anger with the golf club....he gets startled because she breaks out the window and hits the fire hydrant and tree.

Now they are trying to keep it all quiet.......end of story

My wife and I were breaking down the information together.

You run into a fire hydrant and you need to get out of the car. Your wife, who just found out you probably have cheated on her, goes back INTO THE HOUSE to get a golf club.

Yeah, THAT does not sound suspicious, at all.

This is a hoot...  I happen to live in Florida and if there is an accident all Tiger needs to show is his license, registration and proof of insurance which his lawyer did today.  I have no doubt that she did a job on his face and he high tailed it out of there with her in persuit with an undetermined golf club.  Now thay are all hunkered down somewhere figuring out damage control.

It's a shame, the timing of it all.  Tiger's tourney starts this week to raise money for his foundation.  The plot thickens!!

Most men stray.  Fact of life.  Even ones that seem to be impervious to controversy.   I love Tiger for his accomplishments but he really phucked up.  We will see the what happens?

Simply, I wouldn't go so far as to say MOST men stray. I don't think men do any more than women.

I totally agree with you!!   The statistics say more women than men are having affairs!!!!!!!  It's about time they woke up and  LOL  Enjoyed themselves, with out any regret.  Good Stuff

It is a shame Tiger thought he was invincible.  Bagged and going to pay for it big time.   Jesper said he had wished Elin had the 3 wood instead of the 3 iron..  LMAO

Sorry. It's not cool to me that men or women "stray". Marriage is a sacred vow taken before God and man. You must have been hurt very badly at some point in time to keep posting all these negative things in all areas of this forum. I haven't been here long, but I love this place and it saddens me to see someone like you who just seems to thrive on drama. Think happy thoughts and enjoy your time here with us a little bit.  embrace.gif

PS....she must be really lousy in the sack or why else would he be having a 31 month affair with that girl?

I didn't say she was bad in bed and I don't know that for a fact.  What I did say was that she must have been bad in bed because of the fact that Tiger did stray.  I formulated my opinion on the basis that most PEOPLE men and women alike, stray because of some sort of dissatisfaction in the intimate areas of their life.  Whether it is lack of satisfaction in the bedroom, or the lack of his wife being with him while he was away on all of those golf outings, either way he was looking for someone to fulfill a void in that area of his life.

By the way.....It is my opinion that if a man or a woman is completely happy with their sex/intimate life (with the one they married or are committed to), there is no reason to step outside of the box to get that elsewhere.  Take it for what you will.....no conclusions to jump to...just stating my opinion as you do.

I don't know what to say. He didn't force them, if he really was with him, so what's the deal? Not like he can pay them to keep quiet now, right? So what are they hoping to gain?

A quick google search shows this :

Elin Nordegren Woods originally would "only" receive $20 million from Woods after 10 years of marriage.

In light of the current scandal, it has been said that Elin Nordegren Woods' prenuptial agreement has been increased by $55 million to $75 million, and the time frame she must remain married to Woods dropped from 10 years to 7 years.  In addition, she would receive a $5 million one-time payment.

This amounts to an $80 million payout for Elin Woods, not to mention any funds she would receive for child support should she and Tiger divorce.

911 Call to Tiger Woods' House
Posted Dec 8th 2009 6:20AM by TMZ Staff

UPDATE: 7:45 AM ET: Here's what we now confirm as the latest. A middle-aged, blond woman was taken to the hospital early this morning. We have now confirmed the call came from Tiger's address. The spokesperson for Orange County Fire initially said the 911 call came from Tiger's home but for some reason she later backed off that statement and said it might not be the same address. But, it is indeed Tiger's address. We also know a younger blond woman followed the ambulance to the hospital. And, as we reported, Elin's mom is in the U.S. to be with her daughter.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

An ambulance reportedly raced to Tiger Woods' block in Windermere, FL overnight -- and transported a middle-aged woman to the hospital ... but there are conflicting reports.

Orange County Fire officials confirm a rescue call came in at 2:36 AM from a home on Deacon Circle. TMZ has confirmed the woman was indeed transported to the hospital.

A person from County Fire tells TMZ the responding address does not sync up with Tiger's home, suggesting it's a neighbor (see update - it was Tiger's address)

But WKMG TV in Orlando is reporting someone was transported (see below) and a blonde woman in a black Escalade followed an ambulance from Deacon Circle to Health Central hospital -- the same hospital that treated Tiger the night of his accident.

The Escalade's vehicle tag is similar to the one that crashed -- and, we know, Tiger has a second Escalade.

Tiger Woods Admitted to Hospital as OD
Posted Dec 8th 2009 1:00AM by TMZ Staff

Tiger Woods was admitted to Health Central Hospital the day after Thanksgiving as an overdose.

Sources connected with the hospital tell TMZ the admissions chart lists "OD" and that he was having trouble breathing.

We're told the fifth floor of the hospital was put on lockdown when Tiger arrived. Tiger was admitted under an alias -- William Smith. His wife, Elin Nordegren was by his side.

As we first reported, Elin gave paramedics two pill bottles at the accident scene -- we now know the prescriptions were for Ambien and Vicodin. Tiger was in and out of consciousness, snoring at the scene, and our sources say he clearly appeared to be under the influence of something -- not alcohol.

We're also told doctors used a breathing tube to assist his respiration.

We're also told hospital officials changed Tiger's alias after a few hours to another alias because they feared people would find out he was there.

Tiger Gets Order Blocking Nude Photos, Videos
Posted Dec 10th 2009 7:02PM by TMZ Staff

Tiger Woods' British lawyers have obtained a court order from the High Court in London, prohibiting British publications from publishing any nude photos and videos of Tiger Woods ... and TMZ has obtained copies of the documents.

Tiger Woods' lawyers sent a letter to multiple UK papers and blogs, stating the court order "prevents the publication of private and confidential information contained in the Order.... this Order is not to be taken as any admission that any such photographs exist, and in the event they do exist they may have been fabricated, altered, manipulated and/or changed to create the false appearance and impression that they are nude photographs of our client."

The court order also covers any possible videos. It blocks the publication of "any photographs, footage or images taken or obtained of the claimant [Tiger] naked or any naked parts of the claimant's [Tiger's] body or of him involved in any sexual activity."

The lawyer's letter says, "Our client is not aware of any images and in any event he would not have consented to any such photographs being taken nor would he have consented to the dissemination or exploitation of the same."

With some of his sponsors dropping him I'm surprised Gatorade dropped him, I mean with the stamina energy aspect what an advertisement for their product! Maybe the makers of Viagra should sign him up?  popcorn2.gif
