Title: Ultimate Party Meatballs
Post by: CindyLouWho on December 06, 2009, 11:17:07 PM
I haven't made these but they seem quick, easy & good for the holiday coming up.  When I make em, I use grape jelly instead of the cranberry sauce.

Ultimate Party Meatballs

1 14-ounce can Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce
1 12-ounce bottle Heinz® Chili Sauce
1 2-pound bag frozen, pre-cooked, cocktail-size meatballs

Combine sauces in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth. Add meatballs. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are heated through, stirring occasionally.

Makes 30 appetizer servings.

Slow cooker Preparation: Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Combine sauces and pour over meatballs. Cover and cook 4 hours on HIGH.

The original recipe and by far the best is this one..

2 packages Cocktail wieners, little smokies
1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce
1 cup grape jelly
add a little fresh lemon juice

For those people who enjoy the above recipes, excuse me...... but grape jelly in the meatballs?  It doesn't sound at all appetizing to me.

Okay...I'm convinced. I'll try it with the grape jelly, but do I use meatballs or little smokies? I've done the little smokies in Apricot preserves. It's real good that way. But I'm not sure about meatballs.

We usually use the meatballs but they'd both be good.
