Title: Strange suspension question?
Post by: ronandamee1 on July 09, 2004, 12:44:22 AM
Someone came into the chat saying that "due to a parents request my account has been suspended". I have never heard of this and of course they are getting no response back from pogo as to why. Has anyone ever heard of this? The person told me that he/she is 29 years old, so I highly doubt it was his/her parents that suspended the account. This happened last week and its still suspended. The question asked was: is this a temporary or permanent suspension? Any answers would be appreciated! ;)

I have talked to Steve before, but in general I try to steer clear of him. It is a strange sounding ban though...huh

Lol I understand. I enjoy talking with him... (if he is only one person- unlike what some conspiracy theorists may think), we have kids the same age going through the same stages... anywho... that does sound VERY strange.... are you sure the person was being LEGIT. I mean... could they have possibly had it banned for other reasons and then just said that was the reason instead. Reason I ask is- like you said, that sounds very strange.

hay YZ, just a thought here, but do u personally know this person??  i mean have you met this person physically??  the only reason why i ask is because this person could have said he/she is 29, but could in fact still be a minor.  i see that all the time when i surf, people say they are 28, 25 or whatever age they want to give ya, when in fact they are maybe 13-15 years old.  and i highly doubt that could happen(meaning pogo deactivate an account at parental request).  i use to be a guide on pogo before ea came along, and using common sense would tell me if i didn't want my kid to play on pogo, i could put up a parental block that stops my son or daughter from going onto pogo.  and anyways, if that being the case, wouldn't you think that this person couldn't just create another screen name with a different e-mail Addy???  i hope this helps ya with your question!  Tc

if u are under 17yrs old ,when u register u have 2 supply a parents email adress with it,  then when the parent recieves the email, the parent has the option to request that the child's account be terminated.

Why would anyone's parent suspend their pogo account? This person seemed sincere enough. I was thinking it might be a mistake on pogo or something. I try to trust people when they tell me things, so I still believe him. I guess we will see. I have to send him an email of what I could find out.(The great Chat Op I am) ;)

It generally trust people. But it only takes 1 lie to lose that trust and 100 honest statements to gain it back. Think about that Duckie. ;)
