Title: Blackjack Carnival
Post by: Playhawke on December 18, 2010, 10:34:54 AM
This is going to sound weird, but maybe someone can tell me where I am going wrong.
Everytime I download the cheat for blackjack carnival, Mcaffee pops up saying it has a trojan and deletes it, I have tried on three different computers, two XP and one Windows 7, same problem. two others as well.
I made a screen shot to send to show what is going on. camera.gif

Thanks for any thoughts on it.

Do you get the same results on badghelp.com?

I just want to make sure our download counter isn't triggering that issue.

Yes, I get it from badgehelp as well as jackpot.
Bumper does the same.

I used turned off real-time scanning with mcaffee, to see if it will download without deleting it instantly.
I will log back on.

No cigar!  diablo.gif

It just did it again, it will not work, if I say download anyways, two seconds later mcaffee says it found a trojan and deletes it.

It is so weird, I made it a challenge two weeks ago, and again today, but I will have to do it by hand I guess.  Tough with xmas here, I am so busy. Any thoughts on it???

Your best bet would be to email badgehelp@aol.com and see if they have a solution for you.

I don't use that virus scanner, so I'm not sure what to suggest.

You are getting a false positive. BH programs do not contain viruses/trojans. Turn off Crapafee until the program downloads and installs

I've heard this before about McAfee, it's not too fond of pogo cheats and often finds a f/positive and insists on putting them right into its trusty vault. Quite a few peeps I know exchanged McAfee for other virus scans. I have Norton and it's pretty good. Even if it does grab something it doesn't understand, it gives me the option of over-riding it so that I can install it anyway. Hope you get straightened out soon. GL GL..

Yes and with Norton at least you can let them know the file is good.
But yeah there is nothing wrong with the files from Badgehelp... Just false positives.

McCrapee was quarantining my Pogo Deluxe games  as Trojan's too. There was a way to tell it to ignore those programs, but it's been a few years and now I have Trend Micro. Unfortunately, TM blocks the badgehelp download page, so I can't download new autos, and just the other day it flagged RubyQuest as a Trojan, too.

I also use Norton, and it sometimes, well more often lately, asks if I'm sure I should download a program from BH? I just keep clicking on it as a "trusted site", at least I have that option! I used Mcafee for 1 year..way back when, enough said, and have never tried TM. Folks beat on Norton AV because it once slowed a computer to a crawl, no longer the case. Many here will tell you that BH would never make a dime if they attach a virus to a program, myself included. I hope to convince Norton one day of the same.

I have done that but the minute I reboot, it finds it and removes the program for me.

I sat and did the challenge "manual" but was ticked off about it, will wait for the next one in another album to complain I guess.

Sorry to hear others were having the same problem.
I just had major eye surgery and can only stay at the monitor for short periods till I recover, thanks to all who answered.

There is nothing BH can do to fix it . The issue is the AV software you are using.

Just a thought? Why reboot before you earn the badge? BH programs do not require a reboot after download, and they do not contain a virus. As for playing games by hand, I do so on occasion, in fact I recently ranked out in monopoly world that way and saved 5 bucks, sorry Oscar.
