rolleyes.gif Where do these moochers find their nerve??

I was a Club Pogo Member for EIGHT YEARS and it was only after that I became a member of this great site. But it had NOT ONE THING to do with getting free Club Pogo. A friend told me about the real nice peeps in here, about all the great advice and computer help you can get .. not to mention the super autos. I don't think I've ever asked for anything FREE (other than computer help, maybe) in all the time I've been a member. Everyone in here is out to help you if they can ... you won't meet more special peeps and that includes the Admins, on ANY other site. That's what makes this site so good.

So if you're here for any other reason than the above (and the great milk and cookies) you're wasting everyone's time, including your own. But the real tragedy here is ... you're losing out on the BEST site you'll ever find by foolishly thowing it away on your first post!

Not even a sob story to go with it?  I don't participate in the contests because I can afford to buy my stuff and would rather it went to someone more needy.  So the least they could do before giving a "NO" for an answer is say "hi" and their sad story. girls18.gif

I Need A FREE YEAR for Club Pogo

You don't NEED Pogo to LIVE, play the FREE part or don't! I am sure you may of read all the other topics asking for free memberships. It is ALWAYS this====>>>WE HAVE NO FREE MEMBERSHIPS HERE, and we're not going to buy you one!!
Title: Re: I Need A FREE YEAR for Club Pogo
Post by: Homer on January 21, 2011, 05:17:44 PM
I know times are tough and many people are unemployed and can't find jobs but at the $39.99/yr subscription rate pogo only costs 11 cents a day. I think everyone can scrape up 11 cents a day even if you stood on the corner and begged for change. If people are really that poor that they can't afford pogo who pays for their internet service, cell phones etc. Surely there is something most people could give up for a brief period of time to get the money. It's winter time, grab a shovel and remove snow for $10 a house.

At this point any codes I come across will be specifically for my peeps aka regulars in the forum who may be in a tough spot and certainly not for anyone who has one post with no intention of ever coming back again.

Maybe when a new member joins they are taken directly to a chat they have to read that gives the rules about free membeships.  LOL  They have to read and agree before they can read any other post or ask for freebies.   cheesy.gif

Good morning everyone! I think I have cabin fever-why isn't it spring yet?
Can someone help me with advice on how to get a membership. Lost my job
last year and can't afford the amount but pogo is my stress reliever. I would
appreciate the help-i know it seems small and unnecessary but it helps. If no
advice on membership-I understand. I won 3 months in McDonald's Monopoly
game back in November so it's about to expire in about 2 weeks. Any help
would be appreciated.

I am truly sorry I asked-and am embarrassed by the responses in this room. I guess if I could reduce myself to ask for a free pass to play games on a computer that I bought back when I had a job and could afford it-I must be pretty pathetic. You all have shown me that. I went into a room that's called "I need a free year for club pogo" so I expected there would be people that could tell me how to do that. If you can't and it upsets you so much-why do you even visit the room? I guess there are people that are asking because they enjoy the games and truly can't afford to pay for that luxury among other things and probably would come back but don't want to be berated. Thx anyway

I'm sorry if you feel embarrassed but the facts are no website has given out more free pogo than pogocheats. When we were able and had the free passes we gave out approximately 700 years of pogo to hundreds of people. Unfortunately that kind of giveaway will likely never happen again. Club pogo is not a necessity. There are plenty of free games to occupy people's times and even if people can't scrape up the $40 for a year the monthly subscription is only $6.

The reason members get hot under the collar about asking for freebies on the first post is because 99.9% of the requestors never come back once they get what they wanted. They make one post get their freebie and never come back. At least not under the same name. Some newbies create 3-4 names all asking for freebies as if that will increase their chances. Little do they know I can usually tell when someone has created multiple forum accounts. If people would stick around for longer than one post and take the time to get to know some of our members they would find out how giving this forum can actually be.

Megatron, I for one appreciate that you at least try to see it from our side.  We really are a nice bunch and when we had the free passes, we gave freely with an open heart.   If you watch this site and the threads, you'll see that you are not the first to just ask for something for free right off the bat... we've had countless people just approach us with their hands open.  After a while, the regulars here (I really only speak for myself) start to feel that they are only valued for what we can provide to others for free.  We're so much more than that.

I hope you stick around and find that out for yourself.  Welcome.

Why do people keep doing stupid things??  no-no.gif Why do they not post first in the intro topic and contribute a little before asking for free hand outs? And why do they not read the posts in a topic before they respond in it?  I hate sounding bytchy but it really irritates me when they ask for free stuff with no idea of what the forum is about or what the feelings are of members on some topics.

It's almost like the forum has a intro header that says...

Hi you guys. I'm new to this forum.
Please don't bite my head off - I too came to this site because I was looking for ways to get free pogo membership and someone on another website told me to come here and ask for one (nicely).  I have since read the forum rules and I know it is no allowed to ask for one so I won't. I did read plenty of your threads and tried everything everyone suggested, the one month Oprah magazine membership is not working, the recyclebank website is down until 31st January and the coke rewards is only for US addresses and it says the rewards are posted to that address, so until someone tells me differently, I see no point inventing an address (which would be difficult as I'm from Ireland and I wouldn't even know how to fake a zip code so it sounded real).
Please don't get annoyed with newbs, you created a thread called "I need a free year for club pogo" and then you get annoyed with people for posting in that thread.
I've read enough on this site to know that you DID in fact give away loads of memberships when you guys had them and I think that is absolutely incredible. Just collating and distributing it must have been one hell of a job and thanks to all those who were involved in that. I can't help wishing I found this forum sooner.
I'm not going to tell you a sob story about why I need a free membership.
All I wanted to say was if you guys don't want people to post requests for free memberships, then just close this thread.
I for one will stay on this site because I found lots of helpful things in it and also, some nice people by the looks of things. Just be nice to newbs, they might have come for the same reason I did and don't know any better.
Peace out.
Froglover.

We have done that countless times and someone new comes along and starts a new topic.

It's like internet panhandling. We have heard every story under the sun why people can't afford pogo and when the only post someone makes is asking for something free it is gonna tick people off. We have been dealing with hundreds of requests through the forum, PM's and emails.

ok I didn't know that. Its true word on the web is you guys give memberships. I hope they read this thread when they get here.

I'll shut up now  sad.gif

We used to but it was only due to a one time promotion with Subway. It's been a long time since we have had any to give out.

All the sites to get a free year of POGO is for Americans.  (cokerewards, Subway, recycle bank are the ones I recall)  Us Canadians are left out of the loop once again.

That's the only way you're getting free pogo. No one here has free passes. Sorry.

I would like a free trip to the Bahamas!

I personally have never seen a newbie treated unkindly here except for the ones whose only post is to ask for free stuff. Members here always try to help new people whenever they can. The thing is..if you click on a moocher name..you will see they joined just minutes before asking for freebies. And never posted again except for maybe 1-2 exceptions. Some got free Pogo from a member who had some left..The moocher never even came back to acknowledge the gift or say a public TY for the gift. That is what irritates members..We all screw up and make mistakes..I did a no-no a while back and Homer corrected it and very nicely sent me a pm about it and nothing further was said. No public tear down..This is a great site and everyone likes to help if they can but 1 hit beggars make enemies because they don't take the time to find out what a great place this is..They just mooch and run..

I am not asking for a free year of anything. I only want one free night with Johnny Depp. I am perfectly willing to pay for a free year of Pogo membership if anyone can get me my free night.

It is really hard being Canadian with the my coke rewards. It would be really nice is icoke (canada) did the same thing as my coke (US) is doing. Only time will tell.
