Title: Forum issue
Post by: PissedOffPumpkin on April 18, 2016, 10:09:56 PM
Couldn't see where else to post this. Apparently I've forgotten my password for this forum (d'oh!) and wanted to make a change or two to my profile settings. I found the screen to reset my password, but clicking 'send' isn't doing anything. It just sits there and looks at me derisively. Does anyone know if the link is broken? Or is there an alternative way to get to my password to change it? One o' those days.  rolleyes.gif

I'm not seeing any issues with it on this end  - which browser are you using?

When I clicked on the "Send" button in Firefox, I got this :

PogoCheats.net Password Reminder

A mail has been sent to your email address. Click the link in that mail to set a new password.

If you are logged in you don't need to change it or you can change it from above where it says profile.

I'm in Firefox here. I click the button and get absolute nada. I'd move myself over to IE, but of course that's going to be back to needing to know my password. I'm actually surprised at myself for not having it. I use six different passwords, but tend to know which one goes where. Obviously I'm showing my original hair colour.

Did you still need a new password? If so, check your emails for a link - just click on that and you should be good to go.

You can safely ignore the email if you plan to keep your current password.

dancing16.gif One more question ... do you happen to still have the same email address that you had when you joined??

Huh. Don't know how I missed seeing the new stuff on this thread, but just saw it now because I was going to add something myself.

Mayhem, I did get the email, and successfully changed my password.
Snowflower, same email I've had for 12 years - I even used my real email instead of my spam-catcher. lol

New thing now, though. I finally went back to try again to add my own avatar. After pasting in the URL, although it says "profile updated," it reverts back to "no avatar" and yeah - no avatar showing. Obviously it's not vital that I have an avatar, but it's easier to feel like you're making friends when you can see a "face" (so to speak). I can see all of yours. I'm apparently the masked pumpkin, though.  rolleyes.gif

What is the URL you were trying to use for your avatar?

I tried two. First
<a href="http://s170.photobucket.com/user/pet_pumpkin/media/ghostpunkin2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="https://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u259/pet_pumpkin/ghostpunkin2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ghostpunkin2.jpg"/></a>
and then
(https://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u259/pet_pumpkin/ghostpunkin2.jpg) (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/pet_pumpkin/media/ghostpunkin2.jpg.html)
same result with both.

And I see the second actually posted in here anyway. Didn't work in my profile settings though.

That image is way too large (and is why it got rejected). For your Avatar, the max image size is 150 x 150px

Also, only enter in the URL and not the entire html string (eg) https://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u259/pet_pumpkin/ghostpunkin2.jpg

Ah, thanks Mayhem. I'll see if I can reduce it, or I'll just use something else. That's my favourite, but I do have others. I facepalm now.  tumbsup.gif

Wow, thank you, CM! I'm actually sitting here in the middle of a huge mess at the moment. We had serious water damage in our lounge, so insurance contractors are here right now pulling my walls and ceiling apart. Between that, the gent who's currently in my garden trying to unburden my apple tree from a crazily overgrown rose bush (I thought that damned thing was a tree with thorns!) grocery delivery arriving shortly, friend staying with us while transitioning into a new home, hubby on his way to Amsterdam for the week, and a promise to my cousin to create a video for her grandchild, I was thinking this wouldn't happen for EONS.

Updating m'profile now! You da man!

You should "host" a "How To..." thread here on the forum so you can teach people! I'm serious, CM. You have a lot of knowledge and others would love to learn, too.
