Sounds like a good idea Mom. Am I allowed to drink on this trip? ??? :P
Son, you aren't allowed to come on the trip if you don't drink. Beer, your one weakness, some would say your Achille's heel. Getty is in charge of ice. You wear your white and green jersey and I will wear my green and white.

What is the malted liquor?
What gets you drunker quicker?
What comes in bottles or in cans?
Can't get enough of it,
How we really love it,
Makes me think I'm a man,
I can kiss and hug it,
But I'd rather chug it,
Fill my belly up to here,
I could not refuse a,
I could really use a,
Beer, beer, beer.
I can't remember how much I have had,
I drank a twelve pack with my dad, BURP!
That's my son the drunken manly stud,
I'm proud to be his bud,
Here have some pretzels,
No!
I'll call it quits,
Those things give me the Schlitz!
Drink with your family,
Drink it with your friends,
Drink till you're fat,
Stomach distends,
Beer is liquid bread it's good for you,
We like to drink till we spew,
OOH
Who cares if we get fat,
I'll drink to that,
As we sing once more.
What is the malted liquor,
What gets you drunker quicker,
What comes in bottles or in cans (beer)
Can't get enough of it,
How we really love it,
Makes me think I'm a man,
I can kiss and hug it,
But I'd rather chug it,
Fill my belly up to here,
Golly I adore it,
Come on dammit pour it,
Do it for me,
Brew it for me,
Feed it to me,
Speed it to me.
The most wonderful drink in the world.
WooHoo! :) :P ::) >:D O0

Defense was horrible today. :-\ Good thing Jamal Lewis isn't playing next week or he might run for 500 yards against us. ::)

Token, you put it up there on your signature and I am very impressed. The bet is over and you may take it down now. Trust me, I was running around looking for people to help me to prepare to make mine to appease the bet also. Let's bet again next Sunday, this time we bet who has to get a tattoo. Have a terrific day and thanks for being a great sport.
Barbara, You won fair and square and I shall keep it up till Saturday the 30th of October as the bet said.
Congrats on your Eagles they played a great game. I expected it to be close but OT :o
Whew! That was a close one. Too close.
Had to love T.O. mimic Ray Lewis. ;D O0
The Eagles make me hap hap happy.
Steelers are beating up the Pats pretty good. Maybe they will have a big letdown if they win this week. :) Steelers are going to be tough. Could be a shootout.
Wow! Yall love football don't ya? lol.
Yup, can't get enough. :)
i was going to bet the pats/pitt game.. I would have won too. but the thought of 6 days of hell scared me
Scared money doesn't win. :P

They play the Steelers. It won't be an easy game. :-\
well at least I'll have a fighting chance
good thing they Aren't playing the Cardinals

I know. Halloweens over give me back my Eagles. LOL :P
I see your Eagles are playing Dallas next week my co-worker is going to be there. I hope the Eagles score 60+ on them. I hate my co-worker more then the Eagles btw
Cardinals won woo hoo!!!!!!!! yeah it was against the DolFolds! lol
Yeah, the Cowgirls are going down hard next week. :P
Dallas Cowgirls? When did they become the Dallas Cowgirls? I thought they were the silk angora sweater wearing debutants?
That would be Meshawn Johnson. :P ::)
Lol, you made me smile for the first time since the Eagles game ended.

btw what have the eagles ever done in the nfl (https://img67.exs.cx/img67/61/lmfao.gif),their cheerleaders look like men in drag anyways.
yeah texas stadium blows, new stadium in the works.
and the cowboys do suck this year but the franchise has been at least a super bowl winner,so i guess they can talk the talk, unlike some franchises ::)
Eagles have won 3 NFL Championships :P
QuoteEagles have won 3 NFL Championships
when did the eagles win a superbowl? i thought they lost 3 consecutive nfc championship games
i am curious and to tired to google it.
1948 Eagles 7 Chicago Cardinals 0
1949 Eagles 14 Los Angeles Rams 0
1960 Eagles 17 Packers 13
:)
oh ok before the "super bowl"
well they may catch dallas someday in the storied franchise race, but i doubt it.
americas team will always be the big D
Uh excuse me but only Cowboys fans actually believe they are "America's Team" I don't exactly remember there being a vote on the subject.
The Eagles already have a storied franchise history including the famous 1943 merger between them and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The new team was known as the Steagles. This was necessary due to the shortage of players due to World War II.
I have attached a pdf for you to read about the history of the Eagles.
less then 26 hours to go homer

no bets here but who would you think will win .....packers - vikings, should be good game I'll take the packers in this one 31-30
It depends if Moss plays and how effective he might be.
W/O Moss
Packers 26-23
W/Moss
Vikings 30-26 :)
if the eagles do something in the modern era of football as in win a superbowl i guess i will give them kudos.
i believe their championships were before the league became known as the NFL,and back then there was what 12 teams at most? not sure,im not gonna knock the eagles i guess just dont see where the cowboy bashin comes in because all know the dallas cowboys have done way more then philly when it comes to football, there is no comparision.
Hmmmm, the scarce supply of truly great football players was concentrated in only 11 opposing teams, and you think this somehow diminishes the accomplishment?!?
I am not a big fan of any sport, but even I can see a major logical flaw in what you posted.
truely bob theres no logic involved, its like comparing apples to oranges.
the debates always come up,todays teams/players versus yesterdays teams/players.
the population of today versus yesterday(meaning alot more people are not going to make a team because they are not good enough/even though theres twice as many teams, not counting the size of todays players so in essence- no comparision.) no logic needed.
championships, really i did not think a championship pre-nfl days mattered, for 1 had no idea the eagles even won anything and i am a big sports fan.
wasnt brought to my attention until homer posted on their pre-merger championships.maybe they will be like the sox and win something in todays modern era.kudos if they do but they dont compare to dallas so my meaning for even replying to the post was to put my view out there.
and the lingerie catalog on the site lol
ps: they will never be the dallas cowboy cheerleaders either [Admin edit: Image removed.]
The Cowboy bashing originated when they proclaimed themselves "America's Team" :o
Leave the Eagles aside for the moment. This disgust does not solely lie in the laps of Eagles fans. I'm quite sure if you asked fans of other teams about their views on your loved Cowboys you would get much the same opinion. The NFL is a regional based sport in most major cities in the US. So for the Cowboys to have the audacity to proclaim themselves as being "America's Team" has rubbed many fans the wrong way.(Including me) Another reason the Cowboys have become so detestable over the years is that they are more commonly referred to as "America's Most Wanted" these days. The teams in the 90's did little to endear themselves to their own fans let alone the rest of the country.
Why do I like torturing Cowboys fans? Cause y'all make it so dang easy. :P It's not meant to be taken personally. It's just a little good natured ribbing the week before the game. :) Can't stand the heat get out of Homer's kitchen. :P LOL
On the championship issue. A championship is a championship no matter when it was won. Just because it's been a while since the Eagles have won does not diminish the fact that yes they have won 3 championships. So if you want to get technical yes the Cowboys have us beat 5-3.
its not hot enough yet in homers kitchen, yes dallas cowboys are known as "americas team" and have been for quite some time,
as for the most wanted_well thats debatable but they do have the rings to show for it eh.
eaglette fans are not torturing me at all,i think its rather funny,im smiling when i knock the eagles, for 1 they have not done a thing period since the inception of the NFL.until they actually have a ring on thier finger well i guess we can say the eagle fans are more jealous than anything.
imho the eagles need not only a new quarterback who can take them over the top but a good ground game as well, the coach well he is great.

Eagles Touchdown Chili
1 lb Chorizo, removed from casing
1 lb Hot Italian Sausage, removed from casing
1 lb Chuck, cut into bite-size pieces
2 lb Hickory-smoked bacon
10 Habenero peppers
5 Scotch Bonnet peppers
10 Jalepeno peppers
4 Poblano peppers
4 Banana peppers
4 Anaheim peppers
2 cans chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
2 large onions
10 cloves of garlic
2 bottles Dark Beer
2 cups Quervo 1800
2 cups Wild Turkey
2 large cans tomato paste
1 large can tomato sauce
2 cans Rotelle Extra Hot diced tomatoes
2 cans kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can navy/great northern bean
1 can garbanzo
1 bar dark bakers' chocolate
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup cumin
1/4 cup basil
1/4 cup oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Add the spices and the liquid ingredients (beer, tequila, whiskey, tomato paste and sauce) to an 8 quart pot. Slowly bring to a boil.
Dice the bacon and fry until softened and the fat begins to render. Add the bacon and the bacon fat to the pot. Brown the Chorizo, sausage and chuck in a large pan, drain and add to the pot. Slowly bring to a boil again.
For the peppers, remove the caps and ends, halve lengthwise and slice about 1/4 inch thick. Peal and crush the garlic cloves. Drain the beans. Dice the onions, then add the peppers, garlic, beans and onion to the pot. Reduce the heat, and slowly rise to, once again, bring to a slow boil, with a the lid only partially convering the pot.
Taste adjust salt and pepper if neccessary.
After about an hour, in a double boiler, melt the chocolate then add to the pot. Again, bring to a slow boil. This time, reduce to head to a simmer and let cook for another 3 hours.
I serve plain or over rice, with chocolate treats to ease the heat.
This recipe is guaranteed to have you dancing like Terrell Owens in the end zone well into the night. :P >:D
You make your chili with chocolate also? I learned that in Texas, at a chili cook off. I am going to make your chili and see how it compares to mine. Bob will make the perfect judge.
Poor Bob. Yes chocolate is the secret ingredient. When I tell people I put it in my chili they give me this look. :o LOL
nice chili recipe, gonna have to get the neighbors wife to whip up some of that.
Nice chili recipe, have to get the neighbor's husband to whip up some of that. >:D

no, just a sore throat

Why is Monday night taking so long to get here?
Yes, I can hardly wait. Homer says Eagles 27-13 :)

I don't know. I don't get the impression that Eli is going to be that good. I see a lot of indecision in his game. Time will tell though. It's hard to come right into the NFL and be a dominate QB.

It was the little preview show. :o
I don't know what pregame show you saw, but she certainly wasn't naked on my television. That is Nicolette Sheridan, from the show Desperate Housewives. On my channel she was wearing a towel.
That was friggin great! I couldn't believe they went there. :o

OK, it's official. The Giants age going to suck the rest of the year. I thought maybe, just maybe, with the loss of Strahan and Washington they might be able to win a few more games. I see that is not the case.
the cowboys are sucking this year ::)
maybe the cheerleaders should put the pads on.

not to burst your bubble but Quietly The Falcons are 7-2 with a great defense and we all know Defenses win Championships
Homer Honey, line some people up to bet on the Eagles v Redskin game on Sunday. We need the money for our trip to the Superbowl to watch the Eagles win. I freckle easily and I am going to need sunscreen in Florida.
I'll calll Tony Soprano. He'll take our bet but break our legs if we lose and don't pay. LOL :P

Good thing you wanted green and not a more earthy tone!
C'mon Bob! That's the Browns! :P
Oh my goodness! I am not even going to ask what the Redskins would represent.
Red Beans? ??? :P
Actually, I don't remember. Do you use only one kind of bean in your chili recipe?
I have more than 1 recipe for chili. Some use several kinds. ;)
Yes, but is all about the wings. I dredge them in corn flour, and not wheat for a crispier crust.
I better go to bed. Your gonna have me raiding the fridge in a minute. LOL :P
Grrrr, I hate being the 4:00 game. I need some Eagles football.

what about the off-season?
Used to be hockey. :'(
Homer, are you ready for some football? I am watching the Pittsburgh game and rooting for the Bengals.
Damn Pittsburgh. I need to cover by 5 but it's all good I had Colts also. :)
WooHoo! Pittsburgh 19-14 ;D
I am so glad that we picked up our level of play there in the second half. I was not a happy Eagle camper there for a while. GO EAGLES!
Yippie! 9-1 baby! O0
I had a really good day. ;)
I am glad that you had a good day because we are going to need the money for our road trip to the Superbowl!
to many mistakes for Cardinals >:(
This weeks Eagles vs. Giants flash intro Hilarious stuff! O0
http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/intro/week11.htm
Hey Buzzman, what do you think about the game this weekend? ???
Prediction Time
Eagles 27 Gnats 13 :P
Wow, I'm impressed. You gave the Giants that many points. I figure about Eagles 35 - Giants 3
P.S. I love the intro
Well I figured Tiki usually gives us some problems :-\ and I still think the Giants are better than the Skins. ;)
A few weeks ago I would say the game would be closer but with Strahan and Washington out for the season, our defense has fallen a few notches. You are correct about Tiki, he is a slippery little runner. And he has fixed his fumble-itus problems. On retrospect, I think your prediction is closer to the mark.
I can't wait for the game. Homer, since we both have an extra kidney I was thinking about a new way to pay for our trip to Florida to watch the Eagles in the Superbowl. I will tell you about it later.
Steelers will win the Super Bowl.
Oh sure....give you free autos and this is how you treat me. :P LOL j/k
Who do the Steelers play next?
Quote
Steelers will win the Super Bowl.
I agree, the Steelers are going to win the Superbowl. I'm not sure who'll they will play. I think the Eagles will choke again in the NFC Championship game. Sorry Homer, too easy of a target. :D
Barbara, the Steelers are playing the Redskins @ Steelers.
I see the Colts in the SB for the AFC.
Hmmm, I think I am picking the Redskins over the Steelers! Who wants to bet?
$20 and I'll give you 7 points that the Steelers will win.
How about the loser just has to post that the winner won? I take your challenge. Go Redskins!
Yikes! Have you seen the weather at Giants Stadium? :-\
No, what's up with the weather? I am all excited about game day today. I am feeling kinda steak fajita-ish while I watch the game. I will be wearing the green jersey today, natch. I wish my squirrel had a little Eagle's jersey. I can't wait to win the bet with Buzzman!
It's like a monsoon. :o Torrential rain and 40 mph winds. :o
I am sure that you are just devistated that the cheerleader's outfits will be soaking wet, clinging to their bodies and they will be shivering, lol!
Actually they'll have those gawdang parkas on in this weather. :'(
Oh no, not the Nanook of the North look! The heat from the Redskins will cause them to peel off the heavy jacket and cheer their perky little hearts out! GO REDSKINS! (made me shiver to write that) ack!
Remember these?
Seven of Nine looks better in hers.
What happened to the first 6? ???
I know I should insert a clever Star Trek joke here, yet I do not have one. Why, oh why, must I be a sports fan and not a Trekkie? I can't wait to see the veins bulging in Bill Cowher's neck when his team starts to lose.
I hope not. I'm taking Pittsburgh today. ;)
Well, there goes our shot at a happy marriage! I am furious with you Homer. Okay, you can still go to the Superbowl with me, but I am going to tell Steeler jokes the whole plane ride.
LMAO! I don't care. :P
You say that now, moo ha ha!
Woohoo!!! We are winning!
I don't know how long it will last but.....
We are winning!
Trust me, in the b***h slap of a humming bird, this too shall pass :)
Ok, so it didn't last long.
It's not too late to come over to our side and be an Eagle's fan.
I would rather slide down a slide of razor blades into a pool of boiling salt water than become an Eagles fan.
Okay Homer, we have one "maybe" with Buzzman.
Buzzman, congratulations on your winning the bet on the Steeler v Redskin game. Your superior call in this game did humble me and made me realize that you are the authority on the subject of this particular game. Excellent call!!!
Well I was half right I got the Eagles score right. :P
I love being an Eagles fan!
Better watch it Michael Strahan might kill your squirrel. :o

That would be very bad.
Did you see the deodorant commercial where he's playing golf and he raises his arms and the squirrel falls out of the tree and he knocks down the spectators with his bad BO? ;)
Yes, that commercial is great. Squirrels do not like BO.
and the one that Tony Siragusa (former Ravens fat defensive tackle) playing pool.
Do we have any Green Bay fans lined up for bets Homer? I would like to add that I have the greatest respect for Brett and I think he is a wonderful quarterback.
All the cheese you can eat? :P
The cheese head hats are cute. Tell me, would you wear one of those cheese steak hats? I think they look um, odd.
Nah, would rather eat a cheesesteak with mushrooms fried onions and extra cheese.
(Real cheese not that cheez whiz crap) ;)
Cheese Whiz isn't cheese, it is something you see a urologist for. You forgot the mayo, yes mayo. Don't even start on me about ketchup.
How'd you know? ??? I always put mayo on it. ;D
It is the way it should be Homer! Pair that up with a nice diet beer and you're good to go.
No diet here. I don't do anything where the first three letters are D-I-E :-\
Now that is funny. Aren't you worried about the extra calories?
Hell no. Live life.....Taste Death! :P
I've tasted death before in the form of my ex monster-in-law's lasagna. She had a knack for making everything taste like feet. Who do the Steelers play next?
Monster-in-law. Now that's funny. LMAO! ;D
The Stinkers play Jacksonville. Should be a tough game for them. :)
Go Jaguars!
Yup Yup....my prediction Jaguars 19 Steelers 16 :)
I say Jaguars 28
Steelers 10
Time for my weekly prediction:
Giants - Going to loose
Eagles - Going to loose
At least your consistent with your predictions Buzzman. ;)
Here are my predictions.
Giants 17 Redskins 13
Eagles 27 Packers 23
Giants are going to lose by 7
Eagles are gonna win! Trust me.
Homer, you think the Giants have a chance against the #2 defense in the league?
Yes. Stats can be over rated.
This is what I base my opinion on.
The Giants are 17th in overall offense and are ranked 10th defensively
The Redskins are ranked #2 in defense but have the 30th ranked offense
Gotta be able to score and the Skins offense is pathetic.
Eli will get better as he plays more. I see a Tiki TD a Shockey TD and a FG. ;)
The Skins might not make the 13 points I predicted. LOL I figure a Portis TD and a couple FG's
I guess we'll see come Sunday.
Yeppers we will. My predicting has been pretty good this weekend. ;)
Morning Homer, what a great day for Eagles football. Brett and you cheeseheads, bring it on!
Homer still groggy. :-\
You have until 4 to wake up.
Think I'll order some General Tso's chicken. That will wake me up. :P
Halftime and I only have 3 words to say: muah ha ha!
Teehee :P So much for a challenge. ::)
I am very pleased with the outcome of the game. I am not happy that Donovan wasn't taken out sooner for his protection. Bob drew little football laces on my squirrel's acorn to make it look like a football. Next week I am thinking shoulder pads. He is going to keep adding gear to "Peanut" the Squirrel until we make it to the superbowl and yep, the squirrel gets a cup, if ya know what I mean.
A squirrels gotta put his nuts somewhere. :P ::)
Homer, what happened to your Giants-Redskins prediction?
Apparently I over ranked your Giants. :-[
This weeks flash intro. Funny stuff. :P

Eagles 34
Redskins 13
I agree with you there my little pigskin lovin' friend.
Speaking of pig. Homer just polished off some ribs. :P O0
Yum, nothing is better than pork and pork products. I can't wait to show you my house once the outside is decorated. There will be nothing but green and silver lights, flags, banners, etc. I don't decorate for Christmas outside, just Eagle decorations. I want one of those huge inflatable Eagle players. I don't know if you saw them in Acme Homer. Someone in my neighborhood has the inflatable Homer Santa.
Pork fat rules baby! BAM! O0
I was at Acme this morning getting my ribs of course. ;) I didn't see the inflatable Eagles player. My cats would destroy that if I bought it. LOL
I did get 3 fleece blankets for the cats (On Sale $3.99 each) Now I can get my Eagles fleece blanket back from them. :P
I would comment on the blow up Homer but I might have to ban myself then. ::) :P
How many cats do you have?
Ummmm 1.....2.....3! :o :P
Aww, are they Eagle fans? My cats, Felix and Charisma love the Eagles!
Of course they are but I send them running to the four corners of the earth everytime I scream TOUCHDOWN!!! which as you know has happened quite often this year. O0 :P
Yeah, I've made poor Felix flip off the coffee table screaming "touchdown." I really miss hockey. :'(
Yeah.....I used to scream GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!! :P or SCOOOOOOOORE!!!
I think Bob is secretly happy that there is no hockey season so that he doesn't have to dress the squirrel in hockey gear. He surprised me the other night by giving "Peanut" an Owen's jersey. I think an Eagles helmet would look cute.
Awwww.....how cute. ;) How about a towel a la Desperate Housewives? ???
Tough game Buzzman. That was cruel and unusual punishment making us watch the game until it was over. I was hoping they might switch to another game.
The Steelers played undeniably well.
Bah...LOL :P
It was just a tiny appetizer until the game starts Homer. Go Eagles!
Speaking of appetizer....making lunch for tomorrow. Garden Salad w/ Zesty French Dressing and chicken fingers. Mmmm. O0
I want ranch dressing and I will bring dessert.
I have bacon ranch. ??? ;)
Everything is better with bacon!
It's that pork fat stuff! ;D
No Bacos though. I don't even think that's real bacon. ::)
Ack!
LMAO! I was planning on using the same expression. I'd like to choke Pinky. >:(
They better get their act together. O0
Yikes! That was way closer than it should have been. McNabb had a terrible game. Hope he got it out of his system. ;)
Jeeze Louise, I was watching the last 40 seconds of the game and I was flipping out. I never want another game that close honey! It was not attractive.
No it wasn't. A lot of injuries to the D-Line tonight. There was some hitting going on tonight. ;)
I am pleased with the win and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of the injured players, especially the downed Redskin player.
Well, I just watched the worst football game of my life...
I walk away from it saying to myself...."Self, which team is worse?"
I found no answer as I pondered in the sand.
Looks like a 4-0 loss championship game is just around the bend. Cheesesteak anyone?
Eagles-24 Browns-9
Prediction Time
Eagles 34
Cowboys 16

There's method to his madness!
Looks like it's Eagles vs. Vikings next week.
Boy does Favre look terrible or what? :o
I wonder how bad Moss's ankle is? He looked like he couldn't run at the end there. :)
Good One! I'm sure we can accomodate him. O0
I'm still goin with pittsburgh and eagles in superbowl with pittsburgh on top :P :P :P
Vikings Fan here and I can't wait for the game wooohooooo >:D
Boy that Randy Moss is just full of class. Some people just don't get it. :( All talent. No brain. ::)
I am so excited about Sunday I can hardly stand it!!
I am ready for some FOOTBALL!!!

How bout them steelers :P :P :P :P :P
Big Ben looked like he was feeling the pressure. They were very lucky to escape with a win.
Where's Waldo. Too funny. :P
Being a Minnesotan I'm still cheering for my team, regaardless of the odds...HEY! Culpepper just got a TD! Woohoo!!!!

That a pretty big thermometer for such a little patient. I wonder where Homer plans to put it.....LOL...... :o
I gotta find out where to do this. You can download the Eagles fight song as your ringtone for your cell phone. That would be so cool. 8)
It must be new then. I looked at the beginning of the season and couldn't find jack. :o

I remember as a kid we used to go door to door to see if people wanted their pavement shoveled. $5 for everything and $3 for a path. That's how we made our extra spending money. Where are the kids when I need them now? I would gladly pay someone to shovel the 14 inches of snow we're supposed to get. :o
I got trash can lids. :P They used to work in a pinch. 8)
I want to build a Michael Vick snowman and then break it in half and leave it lay there with a Jevon Kearse snowman towering over him. :P
We used an old fridge door when we were kids OMG did that thing ever MOOOOVE!!
I am still sick today slept for about 12 hours i guess..thought this cold would be better by now but its gettin worse i cannot taste a thing...but its ok i dint have the desire to eat anyway....very stuffy....good thing the game is tomorrow it should help keep my mind off how miserable i feel.
I'm goin back to the sofa now with my juice bottle and my thermometer.
Wonder how they are making out with the snow at the Linc. ???

I guess a lot of TV personalities will have to eat Falcon this week. To here them talk about Vick like he was the second coming. I admit Vick is a terrific athlete but he has a long way to go to be considered an elite QB.
I think they should open the Linc and put the game on the big screen and let people come into the stadium and watch the game. :D

You are to funny, Mom....but always truthfull.
Well, gosh I hate to break this up over talking football. ;)
Wattya think Homer? I never gave TO a chance of coming back. But I think the Eagles have a chance.
I will tell you everyone in my house will be cheering for the Eagles.
0 original fans (sorry man.. I've had Detroit, Chicago, Washington and even S.F fans over but no Eagle fans)
2 secondary fans (Me and the Detroit guy)
2 hate the Patriots(The SF and Chi guy)
1 loved the Steelers and now hate the Pats (The Washington Gal)
3 underdog lovers (My wife and one other guy)
Those are the usual Sunday suspects.
What do I think? I am pretty confident. Regardless the winner I think this will be one of the more entertaining games in recent Super Bowl history. Tune in next week for my in depth analysis and prediction. ;)
I am waiting for Barbara's in depth analysis and predictions. So far this season, she is better at predicting games than Jimmy the Greek.
I'm still waiting for Barb's in-depth analysis of her potato salad. :P
LMAO! How true! :D
This thread feels lonely. The Eagles make it to the big show and suddenly everyone forgets it.

Thanks for the post Homer
OK I think I read the post wrong Homer or the axeman cometh got me confused...they Re-signed Trotter NOT resigned him...lol heres what I got from the eagles.com
PART OF STORY I COPIED:
Less Is More As Trotter Remains Eagle
March 4, 2005
By BOB KENT
"I called Andy last night and I said, 'Listen man, we have to get a deal done. I'm feeling the heat,'" Trotter said.
So on Friday morning team president Joe Banner and Trotter's agent, Jimmy Sexton, hammered out and finalized a deal.
"Philadelphia is my home and the Eagles are the team I want to be with. This is where I want to retire," Trotter said. "Sometimes you have to make a sacrifice, take a little less to stay where you want to be."
Resign would be correct. Hyphen not needed. There are 4 different definitions for the word resign. At least according to www.dictionary.com ;)

WooHoo! The draft is tomorrow. Go Birds! (https://www.pogocheats.net/proxy/?http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football4.gif)
I predict the Eagles will go.
1st round - Offensive Lineman - 2 names to watch Jamaal Brown and Khalif Barnes.
Well I guess I won't be taking Mel Kiper's job anytime soon.
Eagle's picks so far:
1st round - Mike Patterson DT (I thougt we would pick him in the second round)
2nd round - Reggie Brown WR
So far I like the pics although I am a bit surprised that they took a WR so high. :o
Bye Bye Freddie Mitchell. ;) Little Baby. >:( :'(
2 months 3 weeks until training camp. :D
wow big changes in the Eagles camp...I pray it is not a mistake....I loved Freddie...didn't know he was ticking off the wrong people with his mouth...Freddie was not always like that....I think this is an ego issue and I am saddened by the whole thing.I hope Freddie has a great career in a new camp....I won't be surprised if he doesn't turn out to be another Chris Carter.T.O in my book needs to chill out...he's going to ruin his career if he keeps it up.Reid doesn't seem to be letting it bother him....I will say this in Mitchell's defence.....things that went wrong were NOT always his fault....McNabb made plenty of mistakes...big ones in the superbowl....but Mitchell should of kept his mouth shut....but then again maybe he wanted out....greener pastures who knows.....I am very nervous about the big changes going on now......I predict this coming season is NOT going to be a good one......I don't see the superbowl in the Eagles furture if they don't iron out the T.O. situation soon. Believe me I hate feeling this way ....time will tell.
Freddie was a major disappointment. To hear him talk you would think he made the Pro Bowl or something. He's a T.O. wannabe. If your gonna talk the talk you sure as hell better walk the walk. At least T.O. backs it up on the field. ;)
My hubby works very near Philly and word around the plant is that Freddie might get picked up by the Giants or Redskins....I wish him well....read the articles about him and they say he was a good player......guess they didn't like his mouth....o well....Pinkston keeps quiet and gets to keep his job......they talked about Pinkston needing to be more consistant like that is a minor thing......comon he stinks ...you hold your breath every time he gets the ball to see if hes gonna catch it or drop it....something screwy is goin on with the whole situation.
That would be fun watching Michael Lewis and Brian Dawkins get to take shots twice a year at Freddie. Freddie was a malcontent and a whiner. He claims Denver wants him. Shanahan has already stated they want no part of him.
I do not think Freddie was a good player. He was a bust as a first round pick. In 4 years with the Eagles he only caught 90 passes for 1263 yards and 5 TD's. Those are horrible numbers for a wide receiver. Even more so for someone who was a first round pick.
I saw plenty of times when Freddie was wide open in the end zone and McNabb thru to someone else for a short gain...you can't make touch downs if you don't get the ball....even the comintators talked about this lots of times....then along came T.O. and of course he got the ball most of the time.....Freddie did whine but not til the superbowl and it was probably building up on his mind....I have a strong feeling Freddie knew what was going to come of it and it is what he wanted......It will be interesting to see what happens with him now and where he goes.I think if he can get into a good camp his stats will go up....only time will tell.I just can't get over the fact they are keeping Pinkston?!?!
So you would rather cut the guy who in the past 4 years has put up the following numbers:
174 catches 2635 yards 14 TD's as opposed to the guy with
90 catches 1263 yards and 5 TD's
The Super Bowl is not the time or the place to get your opponent all riled up. He completely disrespected the Patriots in the biggest game of the year.
He thinks he is T.O. He couldn't carry T.O's jock.
I don't see anyone knocing down Freddie's door so far so I guess we'll see.
Todd's probably fumbled just as many as he's caught ie: the consistency comment in the article......I don't think he's a good player.....he's needs to improve a lot more than he has.....and I am willing to bet he will be gone in a year same as Mitchell if he doesn't.
Well we are going to have to agree to disagree. I also don't think Pinkston is going anywhere anytime soon.
yup yup yup thanks for the football chat Homer......isn't it exciting!! I love discussing it....hey we all have our opinions right.....I can't wait to go to training camp this year.....you goin????
I used to go to camp when the crowds were smaller. (Just a few thousand fans) Back then it was a nightmare sitting in traffic. I can only imagine what traffic was like last year. There seemed to be only one road into and out of town. :(
The scenery up at camp is beautiful. We would grab a bunch of hoagies and fill the cooler up with beer and spend the day but the crowds are insane now. They need a better venue for camp. It's beautiful at Lehigh but a nightmare to get to. :(
I was just blown away to be there and be that close to the players...hehehe it really was great. I didn't think the traffic was too bad last year BUT it was my first time there so I have nothing to compare to (also I was too excited and hubby was driving...lol)..... the crowd was very large and will prolly be again this year. Alas......I am determined to get into the autograph tent this year!! I'm gonna be sleeping in my GMC this year to make sure I get a ticket for that tent.Bummer you aren't goin I would of liked meeting you there!!!
Good luck on the tent. Most of the guys would have to ask permission these days if you get what I mean.(https://www.pogocheats.net/proxy/?http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/7/ale.gif)
Freddie update from www.nfl.com
NIGHTMARE FOR FREDDIE
Freddie Mitchell is having trouble finding a taker.
Because of Tampa's roster and salary situation, it's apparent that free-agent wide receiver Freddie Mitchell won't be surfacing in Tampa Bay. Nor will he be surfacing in Denver, Minnesota or Washington, three teams that have been confirmed not to be interested in the Eagles' former first-round draft pick. That means that the options are drying up on Mitchell -- big time. More and more it looks as if it is going to be a while until he signs with someone and he's going to have to wait for a team to lose a receiver to injury during training camp. Because not one team has acknowledged, publicly or privately, that it has interest in Mitchell. To show how much his stock has fallen, the Eagles would have taken a seventh-round pick in 2007 for Mitchell. As one general manager said Wednesday, "There are now 2,900 players signed to play in this league and if you're not one of them at this point, there's not a real good scouting report on you."
Latest Freddie Mitchell update....The Kansas City Chiefs have no interest in Freddie even though they are expected to cut Johnnie Morton.
Gee.....I wonder what Freddie's doing? :P
LOL! Correct you are. ;)
He better learn these words.....
You want fries with that? :P
It's looking that way.
Well it looks like Freddie Mitchell finally got a job with the Chiefs. Should make for some interesting comments when the Eagles play the Chiefs on October 2 provided of course Freddie is still with them. :P
The Eagles have denied the Sacramento Kings request to let T.O. play basketball on their summer league team.
It should be interesting to see what T.O. says about this. You just know he can't keep his mouth shut. LOL
E-A-G-L-E-S! EAGLES! Training camp starts in about 10 days! :D (https://www.pogocheats.net/proxy/?http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football7.gif)
Then hockey also....the best of both worlds! O0
My only reply and l maooo
Okies....Let me tell you all how sports illiterate I am.
When I used to d.j. at this radio station, I had to make weather and sports updates every hour on the hour. Naturally, me not knowing a thing about sports, would read from a cue sheet. I had just been live on the air long enough to read the weather forecast. I'm still live and announce, "And in your sports cast for this evening......"
Right then the cue sheet just flew out of my hand and made its way to the other side of the room out of my reach. I was tongue tied, confused and had no idea what to say. So this is how my announcement ended up......
"And in your sports cast for this evening, the New Orleans Saints are playing the Dodgers!" I immediately broke off into a commercial and was so humiliated lmao. I'm sure you can imagine the number of phone calls that came in from the listeners.
Don't worry about it. I've heard worse goofs than that by highly paid professionals. ;)
Eagles DE Jerome McDougle shot in robbery attempt. :(

Vick can run but he can't hide. 8)
For those of you on the Freddie Mitchell watch.....
He injured his knee and will need arthroscopic surgery. Likely to miss 4 weeks which is pretty much most of training camp.
Todd Pinkston injured his Achilles and Correll Buckhalter hurt his knee again at practice today. :(
It's official Pinky is out for the year. :'(
Freddie Mitchell update from a Chiefs fan living in Eagles territory:
Chiefs wide receiver Freddie Mitchell won't be having arthroscopic knee surgery, his agent said Tuesday.
Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil was annoyed Monday upon learning that Mitchell would seek a second opinion rather than have the surgery that day, saying Mitchell was merely delaying his return to practice.
With Pinkston out they may wish they had Freddie back, I'm not thrilled to have him on my team
I see Freddie is making friends again. :P
Terrell Owens has been banned from Eagles training camp for 1 week. :o
because he walked off
He didn't walk off the coach threw him out. ;)
OWENS SENT HOME FOR ONE WEEK
(http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=32549)
sorry I heard that he walked off!! I need to get better sources!
This is rediculous anymore. They complain about 49 million dollar contracts. They are NEVER going to spend that in a lifetime. They get paid to have fun. It pi**es me off so bad. (I edited the word, not sure if you can swear on these boards)

In 1943 the Eagles and Steelers were combined due to World War 2. They called themselves the Steagles.

Ugh.... :( Losing already. LOL
hubby just told me score is 14-0...LOL.....Mc Nabb threw a great touchdown pass....to the Steelers.....LOL....Rofl....LMAO.....this is gonna be a great year! :D
:P
no it is not over....Hubby is such a diehard Beagles, I mean Eagles fan...he is laughing hysterically in the other room.....I can't even go in to watch it.....he will really get pissed off at me! >:(
He loves it and I hate it! I would rather be playing games on the computer than wasting time watching football....just my opinion though.
Sounds like we got us a hater here. :o
I can't wait to talk serious football. I LOVE IT. I am not a fan of the Eagles, but living here in PA in the middle of Eagle country and listening to WIP, I know everything about them. I am a misplaced Chiefs fan, but I just love watching football no matter who it is. I have my Directv Sunday ticket just so I can watch a game like Cleveland vs 49ers because I have a fantasy player on one of those teams
It's funny, being female, all the guys at work that need football advice for their fantasy football teams come to me. I know some of the most useless stats ever. But this is my favorite time of year, football starting and praying the Phillies make the end of the baseball year exciting
Well, i am a Bills fan thru and thru ;D, even though i still duck my head whenever someone brings up the bowl losses. :'(
Well I was a serious football fan of the Redskins.
But do too the richie rich attitude of the owner and all the money grabbing things he has done my favorite team is ANY team that is playing the redskins.
We even turned in our season tickets the Dan Snyder money grabber is so bad.
Excuse me? I have season tickets and I do not have a parking pass?
What happened to all the tress in front of Dan snyder's house??
Oh, he cut them down with a deal from the park service so HIS house has a clear view of the river.
Funny how NO OTHER neighbor has this view, they still have to look at the forest that mother nature gave us.
Screw Dan Snyder and anything he has to do with!!
Hmmmmm.....
14 catches by WR's in the first half. Think they're sending a message to T.O.? :P
Well, item #1. It's pre-season. It's still 27 days to the regular season.
Item #2. I would hate to share MY email with y'all. I've had enough of Kaeding jokes. No he's not Marty S's son in law.. lol...
Item #3. I've seen worse half time deficits be erased.
And oh dear. I see the Chargers do play the Eagles in October. I will put on my party manners until then...
Go Iggles!
The Game was FANTASTIC - only seen about a handful of Eagle Jersey's - maybe they knew something already - Heinz field was ROCKIN' - The Mc Nabb pass was so awesome, O0 So all I can say is - Here we go Steeler's Here we go! >:D
my seasons already over we got no qb now that grossman is out for the season :( 4-12 again

The key word there is "when"
It certainly won't be that evening. :P
Well let the best team win. And the best team is the falcons.
But other than that game good luck with the rest of the season.
Hehe....wait until I post my NFC predictions. I think you'll be somewhat disappointed. I see Atlanta taking a step backwards this year. :o
Alot of people said that before preseason started, but you have to look at it this way. Vick has stoped running the ball as much and is throwing it. Plus he has one of the greatest arms when he is on the run.
I'm thinking the Bolt's and Iggles in the Superbowl. I doubt that either team willl tank. Of course, Homer will give us his opinion on that shortly.
Whoever is the first MNF winner will be the one I'm rooting for.
Between the Bolts and the Iggles....
Well, even though the Iggles have three chances to the Bolt's one, I'll stand by my promise.
Oh, I hate the Steelers.
I'll bring the guacamole in honor of the Iggles.
Hey. Purple? You're talking the Vikings now. I'm not bringing Brats!
Well, you got me there..... Cheesesteak vs. Guacamole?
Of course there's Guacomole at the Green Flash on the beach on San Diego. Or a Cheesteak in Philly..
Um the Superbowl is on Feburary 12.
I'll up the ante to dinner at George's at the Cove in La Jolla. You have to wear my old Drew Brees Jersey.
Remember Superbowl is Feb 12.
Done.
Agreed. We split those.
I'll flip you a Necco wafer for them.

You! I can't believe my eyes! :o Do we have a traitor in the midst? I'm gonna have to call Big Red and have your Eagles membership revoked. No more Krispy Kreme for you! A true Eagles fan would never consider switching sides. Don't let the dark side of the force influence your judgment. :-\
Well I don't. :P
We can't lose to a Schittenheimer team. They self-destruct upon contact with the field. :P
I suspect there will be a lot of Eagles fans that week. :D

Yes but Barb gets to decide who gets them and i don't know there are any Falcons fans are on her list. :P
But I want to be an Eagles fan Now!!!!
If (when) Barbara wins this bet, maybe she will give Terrell Owens all 50 autos...of course all 50 will be "Pop Phooey"
Or she could sell them for him and give him the money so he can feed his family!
Why be an eagles fan when you can join the dark side >:D

t.o. would still complain
Well T.O. makes his first appearance in a game tonight. Should be interesting. ???
Well that didn't take long 60 some yard bomb to T.O. on opening play. :D
I bet he will say something like he didn't get enough catches or somthing along those lines.
2 catches 98 yards 1TD in first 5 minutes. I don't like what he did but there is no denying his talent. I'd keep him. ;)
Oh yea he is one of the best of all time if can could keep his mouth shut!
I don't know if I'd rank him as one of the best of all time. At least not yet. A few more good years and he'll be there. I just don't think he's been that good long enough yet. ;)
Yes he has. When he was with San Fran he could not be stopped( maybe thats because they doubled teamed Jerry Rice) but he still made the catches that needed to be made. And right now if you need a play to be made he is the one that you go to.
He is one of the best right now but there are certainly receivers I would rank ahead of him if your talking all time.
i agree Homer.....i miss Walter "Sweetness" Payton
LOL sorry but he was a running back.
Our buddy Freddie Mitchell got the ax in Kansas City. :-\
Does it get any better than this:
McNabb: 23-29, 342 yds., 5 TDs, 0 INT
Detmer: 9-9, 94 yds.
McMahon: 1-1, 22 yds.
QBs combined: 33-39 414 yds, 5 TDs, 0 INT
And the defense comes up with 3 sacks, 3 interceptions.. just an awesome performance all around. And they even got an extra point made by a linebacker! lol
GO EAGLES!!!

Pretty cool....time will tell. :P
Go Colts!!!!!
Hmmmmm.....wonder what the score is? :P
I was worried for a bit. Down 17-0.. ouch.. then finally get a TD and the extra point gets muffed up, but it was promising to get on the board.. then the very next play they return the kickoff for another TD, down 24-6. Thought this was not gonna be our day. Then the defense really kicks it up and doesn't allow anything else til a too-little-too-late score near the end.. after the Eagles rattled off 31 straight points.. amazing. Has KC ever heard of a guy named T.O.?? Dang he was open all day practically.
Great win to get to 3-1.. if McNabb is this good when he's injured.. just wait til he's healthy! lol
Yup, I don't understand why KC stayed in a zone defense so much. T.O. had his way with that. You can't turn the ball over so many times to a good team like the Eagles.
Looks like Parcells is losing his mind. :P

It's not our fault the Eagles can't win the big game, they're the Buffalo Bills of the nineties. I will go ahead and congratulate on the Eagles victory this Sunday since they are too good for us. :'(

I guess they thought his apology was just more talk. He seriously needed a T.O. but I doubt this will get his attention.
There's no denying his talent. If only he would keep his mouth shut. :-X
This will be the end of his stay in Philly. :(
http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/PHI/9025191
He will just use any excuse to start talking more trash about Donovan or the entire team and organization. The man does have a great talent and could be a tremendous asset to a team, but he is by far the biggest ass and worst attitude player a team could have. He was all smiles and said all the right things after he signed with Philly, all the way up to the Super Bowl, and that's where it all went downhill, a complete turnaround from his previous actions during the year. And now, the slightest little thing to upset him, and off he goes on his tangents again. I mean, come on, just cuz the team didn't make a public big deal out of him catching his 100th career TD, that justifies going after Donovan and everyone else again? I loved having him on the team last year, and I even wanted him to come back after all the crap he pulled in the offseason, and it looked as though we might actually get a full playing year out of him whether he was happy or not, but now that's out of the question. The best thing for the team to do is just be done with him for good after this year is over.. if there is some other team who would be dumb enough to take him off Philly's hands, do the deal no matter what it is.. and if not, just release him and kick his butt out the door. Enough is enough already from this moron.. most of the stuff he spews isn't true or doesn't make sense anyway. He listens to his idiotic agent and like the good puppet he is, moves his mouth to Drew's words, no matter if they hurt his situation or not.
RC it makes no sense to me. If he would shut his mouth he would have made 9 million next year. Does he homestly believe another team is going to come close to giving him that much after what he pulled? I don't think so.
I don't think so either, Homer. He was all upset because his salary went down this year, because this year he wouldn't be among the top 5 or however many receivers in the league, money-wise. And it's like he doesn't even look beyond this year to see how much his salary would have gone up next year and the years beyond.. which more than makes up for what it was for this year.. and we all know it is so hard to get along on only $3.5 million a year. With all the attitude problems and trash talking he does against his own teammates, there is no way some team is gonna shell out those kinda big bucks in order to have to put up with that stuff. So with him making a big stink about wanting and needing more money, it will actually cost him a lot more money in the end.. and that's where being a moron comes in. If he had kept his mouth shut and played nice like a good little boy, he would have made out huge in the long run. He's an idiot who gets idiotic advice from another idiot.. so what else is there to expect from that? He would be lucky if he could get a job with the Houston Texans next year.. no offense to Houston, they are too good for him too.
The Eagles knew what they were getting when they signed him from the Niners. In 2004 I believe he got over 1200 receiving yards in 14 games and the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. In other words they put up with him.
This season T.O. is on a pace to break his 04 stats, but the Eagles are losing. It reminds me of when Keyshawn Johnson was with Tampa Bay, except he seems to be behaving in Dallas. Of course, their head coach is Bill Parcells.
I still think the Eagles will regroup but they need to put a sock in T.O.'s mouth.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Terrell Owens can host an open house, exercise on his front lawn or practice a new touchdown celebration Sunday.
He won't be playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Owens was suspended indefinitely by the Eagles on Saturday, two days after he criticized the organization for not publicly recognizing his 100th career touchdown catch two weeks ago.
The All-Pro wide receiver apologized Friday in a statement and later on his weekly radio show, but the damage already was done.
The Eagles issued a statement that said Owens was suspended "for conduct detrimental to the team." The team added that it will have no further comment.
Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, refused to comment.
It's unlikely Owens will be paid for sitting out this game, though neither the team nor Rosenhaus would discuss the situation. Owens is scheduled to make $3.5 million in base salary this season, so the suspension would cost him more than $200,000 per game if it's without pay.
The collective bargaining agreement states that a player can be suspended for up to four games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. However, the Eagles could decide to pay Owens to stay home the rest of the season.
In 2003, Tampa Bay declared wideout Keyshawn Johnson inactive for the final six games and sent him home because of differences with coach Jon Gruden. Johnson was paid his full salary.
No matter, it's clear Owens won't be back in Philadelphia next year. He already put his house in Moorestown, N.J., up for sale. The price? A measly $4.4 million.
Owens has been angry with the Eagles since management refused to redo his contract just one season into the seven-year, $48.97 million deal he signed when he came to Philadelphia in March 2004.
Without Owens, the struggling Eagles (4-3) will line up with unproven rookie Reggie Brown at one of the wideout spots for an important game at Washington (4-3) on Sunday night.
This is the second time Owens has been suspended during his controversial 10-year career. In 2000, he was suspended one game by San Francisco coach Steve Mariucci following his infamous touchdown celebrations on the Dallas Cowboys' famed star logo at the center of Texas Stadium.
Owens clashed with management this summer and earned a one-week exile from training camp after a heated dispute with coach Andy Reid, which led to a bizarre workout on his lawn in front of neighbors and reporters.
Owens got in trouble this time after taking shots at the team and quarterback Donovan McNabb in an interview with ESPN.com on Thursday.
Owens was upset there was no in-stadium acknowledgment of his 100th career TD reception in a victory over San Diego on Oct. 23. An announcement was made in the press box.
"That right there just shows you the type of class and integrity that they claim not to be," said Owens, who became the sixth receiver in NFL history to reach the milestone. "They claim to be first class and the best organization. It's an embarrassment. It just shows a lack of class they have. My publicist talked to the head PR guy, and they made an excuse they didn't recognize that was coming up. But that was a blatant lie. Had it been somebody else, they probably would have popped fireworks around the stadium."
Owens also said the Eagles would be undefeated with Green Bay's Brett Favre at quarterback.
"A number of commentators will say he's a warrior, he's played with injuries," Owens said, referring to Favre. "I feel like him being knowledgeable about the quarterback position, I feel like we'd probably be in a better situation."
Owens said on his radio show he merely was agreeing with the opinion of Michael Irvin, the former Dallas wideout and current ESPN broadcaster.
"This is one I really regret," Owens said of the interview, adding that some clips were taken out of context. "I said earlier in the interview that we would have a better record if Donovan wasn't injured."
Owens previously said on his radio show that he'd prefer to play with Indianapolis' Peyton Manning over McNabb or any quarterback. Last year, Owens couldn't stop praising McNabb after joining the Eagles following eight seasons in San Francisco.
But their relationship soured after Owens took a verbal swipe at McNabb's performance in Philadelphia's loss to New England in the Super Bowl. McNabb responded harshly and the two feuded throughout the summer, not speaking to each other for a prolonged period.
McNabb, a five-time Pro Bowl quarterback who has led the Eagles to four consecutive NFC championship games, has played through several injuries this season, including a sports hernia that will require surgery. He has thrown for 2,034 yards, 15 TDs and seven interceptions while going through some tough stretches.
Owens has 47 catches for 763 yards and six TDs this season.
Your quite welcome!
I've gotten here a bit late, so I guess you've probably heard everything by now, especially if you watched the game.. and I know ya did!
The fight you mentioned in the locker room was with, of all people, Hugh Douglas, who isn't even on the team. I know Hugh is still in the area and does some TV and radio spots and still has some good friends on the Eagles team.. but seriously, the Eagles cut him, why is he showing up in their locker room at all? I'm not putting blame on him, obviously it's all T.O., but a team cuts you and you hang around as if you're still on the team.. who does that?? Anyway, Hugh said there weren't any punches that landed, so I guess it's more of a scuffle.. but at least someone had some stones to stand up to the guy.. I can see why his teammates wouldn't want to though, they might end up looking like another T.O. for causing trouble.
He will get a call from Reid sometime during the week to see where things stand, and they've said T.O. needs to do one thing- apologize to the team.. does anyone see him doing that? You know if he does, he won't mean it, it'll just be so he won't lose more of his precious moola $$$.
And ya know, even though they lost tonight, and only scored 10 points, they looked a lot more like a team than they have in more recent games, they had a lot of energy and worked hard throughout.. Donovan didn't even look like he had any kind of injury the way he was moving all over the place.. they just seem like a much happier group without the tumor that is T.O. The tumor's been removed, at least for now, and they are still in a recovery stage until they are completely healed.
This should be no surprise to anyone, but just announced on tv for whoever's interested, the big T.O. has been dumped.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Nov. 7, 2005 - In a press conference on Monday afternoon, Coach Andy Reid announced that Terrell Owens' career as an Eagle is over.
Owens will not return to the Philadelphia Eagles after he serves a four-game suspension, coach Andy Reid said Monday.
I love it. It would be even better if The Eagles kept TO under contract and don't let him suit up or even come to the sidelines ever again. Sure they'll be paying him still but as long as he can't add any numbers to his career, it would be worth it!
Good idea. I just hope the Ravens don't take him, goodness knows they could use him but they don't need to add any more problems to this disasterous season..lol
It would be funny, I just don't think the Eagles would want to pay all that money just for a good laugh ;)
When you think about it, he's not getting paid a lot. That's part of the reason he's upset. He feels he's not getting as much as some of the top receivers and since The Eagles don't redo contracts, he's been a pain in the arse this whole time. I'm done with TO and maybe next halloween, I'm dressing up as TO in a pink Eagles outfit. Might cost me a bit much but everyone would understand!
I dont get why Andy Reid just release him now and go to another team. He will get bored now without football. ???
That would be doing Owens a favor. It would be giving him what he wants. He wants either to get paid mad cash or be a cancer for his team. This way, he won't be on the field, he can't ruin the chemisty that's there right now, and he will be stuck doing nothing other than running his mouth and ruining any chance he has to make that major endorsement deal! If I was Andy Reid, I would just not play him the rest of his contract and by the time he's a unrestricted free agent, he will be slower and less desirable.
"Owens was set to earn base salaries of $770,000 in 2006, $5.5 million in 2007, $6.5 million in 2008, $7.5 million in 2009, and $8.5 million in 2010."
If you kept Owens that long and never played him, first of all, he'd have to be on the roster cuz you can't suspend someone that long, so he'd be taking up a spot that someone else could be contributing with, second, you'd be paying over $28.7 million to someone for them not to play for you.. that is a lot of money that could be used in much better ways, i.e. signing better free agents, extending contracts of current players, etc. I didn't realize his salary for next season was a mere $770,000, that really isn't much in terms of a salary for a football player, esp. one like him (but he did sign this contract and knew ahead of time what it would mean).. it would be funny if they did eat that salary for next season and make him sit that whole year as well, and then dump him before the salary increases.. although that is highly unlikely since he is also due to receive a $5 million roster bonus in March 2006, so they are not gonna want to have to pay him that and keep him even longer.. so you can be sure he will be completely off the Eagles team before then, whether by trade (good luck to any team willing to do that) or by releasing him.
Kudos to Andy Reid and the Eagles organization for seeing that it could never get any better with this guy and doing the right thing by not bringing him back. It was worth the risk for a one year try at winning the Super Bowl, I just wish they didn't have to sign him for a whole 7 years to get it done.
I think they should drag him out behind the clubhouse and beat the crap outta him. You just don't go around disrespecting your team, your teammates, and your bosses like he has been doing. They were stupid for signing him in the 1st place.
Congrats too you Coach Reid for getting rid of the cancer that was beginning to plague your team. I may not be a Eagle supporter, but your team will become more of a team due to his termination. By the way, good luck on your next game Eagle fans. >:D Get 'em Cowboys!!!
Home game.. Monday night.. cancer-free.. getting revenge on the Boys... equals easy win for the Birds! ;D
Man Owens has one h3ll of a poker face with his statement to the Eagles organization and their fans.

NFLPA said.
They are trying to make the Eagles cut him. I seriously doubt they can make them do it. He has a contract until the end of this year. Actually he has a contract for another 5 years but the Eagles will cut him at the end of the year.
He might be ended up with the Falcons. Mike Vick wanted him on his team.
As of TO bought a home at Atlanta.

Eagles signed the old punter Sean Landeta again O0
He must be about 45 by now. :o
Na. Hes 43 years old. About to be 44.
Hes a few yards less than Feagles on punting yards.
Is that his age or punt average? :P
He is better than the last 2 tools we had kicking for us. (https://www.pogocheats.net/proxy/?http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football5.gif)
I edited my post. Sorry for the confusion. Yea he is a lot better punter. They released that punter who punted yesterday and a quarterback. Dirk Johnson was on injured reserve.
Darren Bennett is one punter still on the Vikings roster and never played this year.
Dirk was the victim of the sports hernia as well. Although McNabb's injury was said to be worse. :o
Yea McNabb had successful surgery today.
They said they loosened his groin. I didn't know that was possible. :o
I didn't know the Eagles decided to go with Pop Warner footballers when they lost T.O. Did they only show up for the Reggie White ceremony because I didn't see a single one on the field!
TY Seattle for making this a 15-1 week for me!
Well T.O. and a rash of injuries. :(
Half the starters are pretty much out for the year.
EAGLES ARE GETTING KILLED!!!! 42-0??? What a game for the seahawks.
Another sad news, Brian Westbrook is done.
Oh Well All of us Eagle Fans will just have to wait until next year I guess :( I guess we can't complain the last five years they have given us something to cheer about.
All I can say is I'm glad it's hockey season! :o (https://www.pogocheats.net/proxy/?http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/aiw/nhl4.gif)
