The avatar and signature's aren't showing ???
restart your comp, happens to me a lot, or reinsert your avatar and signature ???

Go into your profile and look in "Look and Layout Preferences". Make sure that
Don't show other users' avatars and
Don't show other users' signatures are
not checked.
