Actually I should say it will save it on your pc but I believe badsexycrazygirl is trying to save them to disk. Perhaps she wants a backup copy. ;)
Now it does sry

you mean you formatted a floppy disk right? ;)
it was luck now i dont have to pay some one at a computer store.. lol
i have to have everything work on my comp
*Ahem* Gets everyone's rapt attention
Girl... Is there data on the disk that you need to get off of it? Like you had saved a school paper onto the disk and then now the disk is saying it needs to be formatted when you put it into the computer drive... If that's the case DO NOT format it! You will be up the s**t's creek, sans (french for without) paddle if you do format it... If you have data on the disk and you need to retrieve it then you can either 1. Take it to a computer repair shop and they can try to retrieve whatever data you had stored on there... 2. Use a program that you can download from the internet that can recover the lost data... I would recomend - http://download.com.com/3000-2094-8134556.html (http://download.com.com/3000-2094-8134556.html)
It's what we use at my work, and it's about the best software out there... It supports all file system types (FAT, FAT32, NTFS...) And it works incredibly fast compared to its competitors...
If you don't have data on the disk the just follow DJ's instructions and format away.... It may be possible that the disk has died though... With the floppies that happens ALL the time... Just about anything can kill a floppy disk... Magnets of any kind (in your TV, speakers, sterios), if you jolt the disk too hard, if pressure is applied to any part of the disk too hard, if you leave it in the sun for too long, if you get any kind of liquid on it, etc, etc... So you may just need a new disk all together...
*The Master has spoken* ;)
Ok it is, my young padawan... Much there is left for you to learn... ::)
Don't get me started with the Star Wars quotes. I get all geeked up over Star Wars. ;D

-adam
it wont formatt ???
Try a new floppy or burn your files to a blank cd ;)
is there a software to formatt floopy disk?
no you don't need software. it is a windows command.
Put disk in A:\ drive
Click My Computer
You will now see the different drives.
Right click on the A:\ drive and select format
A new window will open just click start.
Do not select quick format. Sometimes does not work so well.
It will take a minute or 2.
Whatever you do don't format your hard drive. Usually letters C or D that would wipe out your hard drive.
If it won't format it's because the disk is dead... :'(
If there is data on it that you need, see my upper post...
If there isn't anything on it that you need just chuck it out the window...
but that was a new disk and i had no data saved on it
It could still be bad. Try another. ;)
Floppies are just junk now anyways... Get yourself a nice usb key drive...
http://www.mrtechus.com/xt64usbfldr.html (http://www.mrtechus.com/xt64usbfldr.html)
It's 64Mbs large... That's around the size of 45-50 floppy drives... It fits w/o any trouble onto your key ring and it's only $25... Plugs right into any USB port on any computer and they can really take a beating without worrying about data loss...
i'm not worried about lost data its just wont save any data and it wont format that's my problem i dont have any problems with lost cuz i dont have any lol
I think you have a bad disk/s. Once I had a whole box of bad disks. :'(
I'm just saying you should just get rid of the floppy disks all together...
Most computer companies have stopped support of the floppy drive... Apple was the first to do it several years ago... Sometime last year I believe Dell stopped including the floppy as a standard drive... Soon enough Compact, Gateway, and others will all be phasing out the floppy drive as a standard drive on computers... USB flash drives are totally the way to go for quick and easy storage of stuff...
well that cant be because my mom just brought me a whole bunch of disk
Don't you have a cd burner on your pc? You can save files to a cd-r.
o how do i burn cd's?
I'd take the time to explain but I've got class in 10 mins... So I gotta run soon... If no one helps you, then when I get home I will explain (in GREAT length... As usuall)... ;)
allright ty cya later
This is for windows xp. I don't know what version of windows you use.
If you have a cd burner pop in a blank cd-r.
You will get a pop up
Highlight Open writable cd folder using windows explorer
Click ok
A window will open indicating the cdr drive. Click and drag the files you want to save into this window.
Click write these files to cd
The cd writing wizard will now open.
Type the name you want for your cd in the window
Put a check in the box to close the wizard when done.
Click next. Your files are now being saved to cd-r
The windows will close automatically when done and your cd drive should open with your new cd!
You are now done.
After burning pop the cd into your regualr cdrom drive and check the disk just to be sure.
That's it! ;D
i have windows xp
Then this will work. ;D
If she has WinXP... and a CD burner... :-\
how would i do it on a school comp?
Same way provided there is a burner on it.
alright how would i load the data?
Follow my instructions from the previous post and clcik and drag the files from their original location.
alright ty john ure a big help lets hope that works
It should. Good Luck! ;D
I totally forgot the easy way. :-[
Just right click the file/s
Click send to
then click your cd-rw drive and it will create a temp folder down by your clock until you are ready to burn.
Why do I always do things the hard way? LOL
Could be a bad floppy disk, or a bad floppy drive...
Try another floppy from a different batch <if you bought a pack of 20, try to borrow a floppy from someone or try an old floppy.>
If walmart still sells them, for about 5 or 10 bucks they offer a drive cleaning system by memorex to clean your cd-rom and floppy dirves.
If that doesnt work, think about replacing the floppy drive They're about 20$ in stores, but I have seen them for as cheap as 5$ online at pricewatch.com
Forget the floppy.... They are such dead drives... Just go w/ a cd-rw or a usb flash drive :)
okay ty all
